I've currently got a NOVA-T card single tunner, but I would like to record two channels at the same time, so I can either get a NOVA 500 or another NOVA-T!
What are the disadvantages for running 2 single NOVA-Ts instead of the DUAL tunner card?
EVR seems to work fine for me except for one function. When in Live TV if pushing the Menu(i) button on the Hauppauge remote, which I think is bound to HOME. Then the home page is supposed to be visible with a small window of the live tv in the bottom left corner. However with EVR the picture is screwed up. I seems the home menu is shown, but the fullscreen live tv is still filling the window. The menu is shown through as the screen flickers.
Part from that EVR seems to work perfectly. Slight tearing though, but not any worse than I have with VMR9.
Hi
I am very new to GBPVR and have just installed it after reading so many positive posts on this forum. I would be very grateful for some advice. I have installed a Hauppauge WinTV Nova T500 PCI card but GBPVR does not seem to recognize it and the card does not appear in the drop down menu in the capture source menu. It would appear from the forums that this card works with GBPVR so I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thinking of getting a a wireless router as will soon be forced to run my third cat-5 cable across the living room floor!
Connections required
* ADSL modem, preferably built in.
* A reliable and fast wired connection for my gaming PC (which sits next to the phone line).
* Wi-fi to a Nintendo Wii.
* Wi-fi to a GB-PVR PC in the living room.
* Wi-fi to a laptop.
* Spare wired connection for work laptop on occasions.
I already have a wireless card and USB dongle for the GB-PVR PC and the laptop so not interested in any bundles or "fast" wireless as they are both bog standard 802.11g. It's a small flat so distance/signal strength shouldn't be a problem.
Looking at this linksys one from amazon but I'm a noob when it comes to networks. Any thoughts from those "in the know"?
So, it looks like this setting : <DVDAllowVideoInset>false</DVDAllowVideoInset> is ignored just like it was back in early days of 1.0.6. Not a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance.
This is my first time posting, I've used gbpvr for about 2 years and it's great. The only problem I've ever had is when watching recordings or live TV on my computer the screen is really dark(it's to the point of not being able to even see anything when the show is dark itself). I am using a Hauppauge PVR500 and one MVP. My MVP brightness level is fine on my. I love the new version it's the best picture I've had on my TV yet and the overall perfomance is nice.
I decided I didn't much care for the Radeon X1600 512MB AGP card, so I am building a new system for my main HTPC. Since I needed a PCIe mobo to go with a better video card I figured I might as well go big all the way around. I am planning on going with Vista so I can use EVR (with hardware acceleration). This should be more than enough to handle anything a Haup HVR-1600 / PVR-150 could produce right? I'll be using DVI to HDMI connected to 50" Panasonic plasma.
I haven't seen this problem before. If use EVR as the renderer on my system (Vista), and I play something from My Videos that normally would pop up with the resume menu, the menu appears to pop up, but I can't see it. I say it appears to pop up since the video isn't playing, but my VFD shows the name. If I press enter on my keyboard, the video starts playing. Actually, one time I saw the resume screen disappear just after I pressed enter even though it hadn't been displaying before I pressed enter.
If I set the renderer to something other the EVR, it works correctly.
I have attached the logs (EVR mode) where I started up \\SPEEDY\MyVideos\Movies\Watch 2nd.mpg twice. Both times I waited and then pressed enter and the file did resume, but I never saw the screen.
