PVRX2 wont start when Archiving in progress?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2007-11-17, 07:04 AM - Forum: XSuite (Xrecord, XSearch, XGuide, CDK Scheduler) - Replies (13)

I've been able to repeat this and perhaps it is by design, but PVRX2 wont start when Archiving is in progress?

What I did was go into PVRX2, start archiving 2 shows, (from XRecord) then exited PVRX2. After that I couldn't go back in.

I can start the old GPPVR interface but PVRX2 won't start

EPG bug / Main menu live TV bug
Posted by: ChiPPy - 2007-11-17, 04:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have noticed a bug with the EPG in the latest 1.1.5 release of PVRX2.

When watching live TV, I press the "i" button on my MCE remote, to go back to the menu with the live tv in a window. Then I go to the TV Guide, select a program to watch, and it's displayed in full screen as usual.

Here's where the bug comes in. If I press "i" again to bring up the menu again, instead of the menu with live tv in a window, I get the EPG, with live tv in a window. Now if I press "i" again, the menu with windowed live tv will show properly.

Is this a known bug, or did I uncover something?

  v1.1.5 recording service stopping
Posted by: tgp - 2007-11-17, 03:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (33)

Have noticed this 3 times now, usually when I look in the morning, the recording status window is completely blank. There is supposed to be a recording starting at 7am, but it didn't appear to.

I termined the service (stop.bat) and removed all of the PVRX2 tasks, then restarted. Logs are attached, but I noticed that at 11-16 01:05:25 in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-2.log that there is an error in ConversionProcessing. Now I don't convert my mpg's, but I would expect the settings to come back as No Coversion, as it does earlier in the log (01:03, for example).

Any help would be appreciated...

System doesn't come out of standby to record
Posted by: intel61 - 2007-11-17, 01:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Same issue as most have had, but I still cannot figure out whats wrong. My system will not come out of standby to record shows that are scheduled. I put the system in standby myself through the old fashioned start-shutdown method. I am also testing with manual recordings and it doesnt wake up. I'm running 1.0.16 and have applied the native utilities patch. I don't know what else to change. My bios settings for standby enable it to wake up from any event possible.

The system comes out of standby if i use the XP Scheduler to run some program. i attached the logs that are generated, don't know if it will help.

  Setting up EPG in Australia?
Posted by: lesleyp - 2007-11-17, 01:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Greetings!
Can anyone help me set up an EPG for Australia (Brisbane)?
It seems that it is obligatory for GB_PVR Configuration to set up a PGR. In Australia this is problematic, it seems public broadcasters don't provide EPG's, commercial ones are tied to hardware and are expensive subscriptions, and free XMLTV ones are legally dodgie.

I have spent hours on the net researching this, links are often out of date, XMLTV grabbers have disappeared etc.

Thanks

  Importing XMLTV file
Posted by: zehd - 2007-11-17, 12:23 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (14)

I'm just playing with EPG data I've gotten from several aussie sites. When it imports into GB-PVR I see some strange things....

Here's a sample program from the xml

Code:
<programme start="20071121203000 +1000" stop="20071121213000 +1000" channel="free.QLDReg.10"> <title lang="en">House, M.D.</title> <sub-title lang="en">You Don't Want to Know</sub-title> <desc lang="en">House treats a magician but comes to believe he's faking illness to cover up his own incompetence. Meanwhile, House pits the fellows against each other in his version of an immunity challenge.</desc> <category lang="en" /> <rating system="ABA"> <value /> </rating> </programme> <programme start="20071117180000 +1000" stop="20071117183000 +1000" channel="free.QLDReg.10"> <title lang="en">The Simpsons</title> <sub-title lang="en" /> <desc lang="en">Join the world's favourite dysfunctional family.</desc> <category lang="en" /> <rating system="ABA"> <value /> </rating> </programme>

In both examples: When GB-PVR imports this into its database, it takes the Description and copies it to the Ratings filed as well. When there is no specific sub-title (as in the simpsons) then the description is copied over that too

In other words, after import, viewing the TV-Guicde in GB-PVR, I see the same description three times in many cases, as the description is copied into the subtitle and ratings, when there is no data in those fields...

Sometimes this can be quite crowded on the screen with three paragraphs, wrapping onto each other...

Is there some way to fix this in GB-PVR, or could we run the xmltv through a processor ?

  Vertical white lines in video?
Posted by: chemchem - 2007-11-17, 12:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I have a Hauppage 150 card and have been trying forever to set this thing up. I finally got it to work in gbpvr after reinstalling the drivers, but I am getting white vertical lines down the image! This same thing happened with BeyondTV, however it did not happen with SageTV.

Is this a driver issue or some kind of setting I need to change?

  Base dvd target folder
Posted by: No1Daemon - 2007-11-16, 08:23 PM - Forum: Video Archive - Replies (1)

Hi
I recently installed video archive, mostly for the dvd capabilities because I have all my childrens movies on dvd and some vcds and want to store them all on my HTPC.

My problem is that convert to dvd seems to be working but is storing the movie in a folder other than my videos where I thought I had set it to.

This means I cannot access them easily from GBPVR.

There is also another issue that occurs when I first open it.
There is a bright white band across where it asks you for the base target video folder and if there is anything written in there I can not see it or change it.
Also when I turned it on one day and was surprised to see something had actually made it into the videos folder,(which is a seperate folder to my videos and not the one I chose), there was also no text or anything, just a bright white box. Clicking it like a mad man eventually took me down the directory tree to the point where I could see it was actually one of the dvds I had been trying to store.

so question 1 is - Where are the settings for the target folder? and am I able to simply store the title for the dvd(not neccessarily the whole dvd folder) in the folder My videos where I have transferred some of my other movies from my pc.

and question 2 -How can I change the text settings etc so I can see what I am selecting.

Thanks in advance and love your work.
Steve
