  Connect to PVR
Posted by: tesla1886 - 2021-05-29, 10:28 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (10)

I have two Android devices both runn NPVR version 1.7.200822
My tablet is running Android Android 10 Q Release Date of 24 May 2021
My phone is running Android 11 R Release Date 0f 26 May 2021

Neither device am I able to connect to my PVR remotely, IE off my network -- the same network as the PVR. However both devices connect while connected to the same network as the PVR. My PC is able to connect locally or remotely.

I have tried connecting using my public IP as well as by URL IE. PVR.mydomain.com. My notebook will connect by URL so I assume it should be able to connect by IP.

My PVR is a member of a domain, so I would like to be able to connect by URL so I don't have to switch servers.

Anybody have any ideas as to what is going on that my Android devices won't connect off my network?

Thank You

Posted by: MaxOne72 - 2021-05-29, 04:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Was wondering if anyone could answer this for me. Having an issue with irblaster, it's changing the channels with my stb I had use the learning option as my stb is an amino android box. The thing that is happening is it will change channels with to lets say 108 but if I try 226 it only puts in 26 and the same if I try 110 it only changes to 10. Why would thig be happening?

Thanks.

Sat>IP, NextPVR Server, Exip 418, Scan does not find channels
Posted by: RudiLeitner - 2021-05-29, 08:25 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (23)

Good Morning,

so...I have NextPVR server running as backend for KODI, newest version...it's 5.1.1 i think.

My sat>ip setup is
Selfsat dish => Kathrein Exip 418 => {LAN/Switch/Router} => Mini PC  (server & client) => TV
( where Router is a Speedport hybrid router from German Telekom and Switch is a TPLink)

Works great. As long as I run NextPVR with using a .m3u file.  Kodi (with NextPVR plugin) will see all the channels, everything fine.
I just want to get away from that external XMLTV EPG.   As far as I understand, using a .m3u file to address channels on the Exip moves us towards "IPTV" and there is no over the air EPG for IPTV.    (don't know if this is correct,  it's what I understand)

So I though I try to scan the Exip tuner devices that show up in NextPVR instead of using a .m3u file.  Unfortunately the scan doesn't find ANY channels on the exip.
I'll include a log to this post.   Seems like the scan for each frequency runs into an error (mostly something with non-connected sockets).

Would be great if somebody of you could have a look on this.

I would even fill services manually  (a few, just to test if it'll work and if over-the-air EPG does it's job).   I mean, I know all the frqs, transponders, service names and whatever...  I just don't know how ;-)

Forgot to mention:    tried this with the most current NextPVR version and with 5.0.6.    Tried it also with KODI switched off  (Mini-PC acting as server only). Restartet Exip a dozends of times, Restartet the PC a dozends of times and .....   disconnected the entire setup from power, restarted everything.   No change in behaviour.

Thanks in advance
Cheers
Rudi

  Multiple instances of NextPVR server
Posted by: ajd - 2021-05-28, 11:52 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (4)

Hi all

I currently use tvheadend on linux with HDHomeRun network tuners. However I would like to switch to Windows.

I really like NextPVR but there is one feature missing that I used in tvheadend - support for multiple users with completely separate recording directories.

I suspect it would be a lot of effort to implement the same feature in NextPVR but I was wondering whether it's possible to run two instances of NextPVR v5 on the same machine running on different ports? I think this would allow me to achieve the same result.

I have seen posts about running v4 and v5 on the same server but I haven't seen anyone talk about 2 instances of v5 (hopefully I haven't missed it!). I suspect it might work in the same way although I'm not sure if I would be able to set up two services without changes to the code? Perhaps I could just start the second instance from a script?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Many thanks
AJD

  Changing providers. Reoccurring recordings question
Posted by: snagglewest - 2021-05-27, 06:26 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (1)

I've had to switch cable TV providers after many years.  I've got everything working great with the new providers and channels but I have a question.

With my existing reoccurring recordings in the database does NextPVR search on the show title or does it use something else on the backend like channel number or ID or something?  The reason I ask is it seems like some of my reoccurring recordings are popping up like they should but other seem to not but I can't nail down a pattern.

  EPG auto map
Posted by: donbrew - 2021-05-27, 04:18 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (2)

Is it just me or is auto map broken?  I can map channels to my xmltv.xml file manually.  At least a few names match.  It just silently fails.

For some reason I can't attach logs.  The zip file opens a new tab and asks to be downloaded.

Channel not included in web app guide
Posted by: FrogFan - 2021-05-26, 09:40 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

Hello,

One of the channels that I can see when I navigate to settings>channels is 11.1, KTVT-DT.  It's the Dallas/Fort Worth local CBS affiliate.  If I open the desktop app and look at its TV Guide, this channel appears.   Similarly, when I launch Kodi, the channel appears in its guide.  However, when I look at the guide in the web app, it doesn't appear.  I just generated a set of logs, which are attached.

This is not a big deal for me, since I only rarely use the web app for anything other than adjusting settings, generating logs, and checking to see if programs I've scheduled have been recorded.  In particular, I seldom use the web app for TV viewing.  Having noticed it, though, I thought I'd mention it to the team here.

Thank you.
