Ok, this is hard to explain, so pictures tell a 1000 words.
Basically when I do a search and bring up a possible program I would like to record, gbpvr.exe has channel number call sign (84 WXYZ) where PVRX2.exe only has call sign (WXYZ)
gbpvr.exe:
PVRX2.exe:
Normally this is not an issue with most people, but I have dual PVR150's and one is set up to record through a digital box (Motorola 2524), and the other one is simply analog cable. I prefer ther digital when I can, but since it shows both at the same time, I get confused with just the call letters. Which cannel numbers I know that 05 is analog, and 84 is digital even though they have the same program on at the same time.
I tried the edit somewhere I saw for the channel number to be listed, but no luck as it only showed up on the main page.
I stoped trying to get this software to work about 9 months ago. At the time, I was building a Win2K Server with IIS installed so that I could load your software and access the TV guide through the web. All the files were going to be shared and viewed through an Xbox via XBMC.
But time has since gone by and you have a rather newer version of the software. After several crashes trying to get the EPG channels found through my AverMedia A180 card, I got it up and running.
Now when I try to record, it says that it is.. it makes a directory in the record location, but nothing is written.
Am I fighting a no win situation, or can I still get this to work well? Am I better off to go back to XP with the new software, and does your now built in web interface need IIS to be loaded?
Just curious... I'm unable to stream recorded mpeg file to my TiVo when recorded from the QAM source as I can for the analog recordings. (HVR-1600 using an ATI Mpeg mux for bda).
Is it different data content even though it's not HD? Or should I simply try other mux's to see if that will work better?
I've been using the RSS links to monitor recordings. I was wondering if you had any plans to make the links available from EWA. I was looking around and was not sure where they could be added, but thought maybe the "statistics" page could host a set of links that could be used to import into various reader software. Currently, I have to read the wiki to remember how to access them.
Anyone know if there is a way for GB-PVR to record MPEG-4 H264 AVC Streams from VLC?
If so how would one setup the hardware for it, basically for a lot of IPTV "broadcasts" you can join the Multicast stream and bypass the STB if you know the address and port of the multicast stream. This means you don't need the PVR card for video in, maybe just for hardware encoding...
So that means you can tune into each channel and record via Ethernet completely bypassing the STB and Video-in, this should give better quality Video esp for HD.
However, when trying to configure/run wirelessly I get the message:
"MediaMVP is successfully connected to this access point but is unable to obtain an IP address".
The wMVP is 86018 rev. H3. Firmware at boot says ver. 2.05.
I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS version 1 with the very latest firmware 4.71.1 updated today.
I've tried with WEP and open network. Same problem.
I just received my tv tuner yesterday and set it up with gbpvr today.
the tv turner is Radeon Theatrix 650 PRO
I don't know what the picture quality supposed to be, but mine seem to be horrible...
it should be basic cable tv ( not sure) this service is offered by my university.
Should i exchange other video turner card?
can someone send your capture let me know what it suppose to be.
Just bought an MVP and connected it up via my powerline network and it all worked great apart from some of the menus.
Displaying the program guide or other menus that 'pop up' another window display like a horizontal interference pattern. It's difficult to describe but it's as if the TV isn't synching properly with the MVP. Also, the screen sometimes goes blank.
I've also tried 3 different SCART leads but the syptoms remain!
Just curious about how this works? I've noticed it is very very slow on my system. I have minimal memory, so that could be it. Is there any hardware/tweaking I could throw at this to make it a little faster?
I have a problem with using gbpvr when I logon to my computer as a domain user named pvr_user (not local admin account). When I try to manually record a show that I am currently watching from the LiveTV screen, I get a can't playback file error. GBPVR will record the show but I can't view it while it is recording. However, if I login using the local admin account, I can record and watch the show from LiveTV without any problem.
I don't know if I am setting all the necessary permission for the pvr_user account to have complete access to use gbpvr. I tried the following steps:
1) Assign pvr_user full control (read, write, execute) over the denz folder.
2) Drop a shortcut of the gbpvr recording executable into the pvr_user Startup folder so it will startup when the user login.
3)Went to MS Services and assigned the GBPVR Service executable the pvr_user account to "Log On" as instead of using the local system account.
I did all of this and I am still having problems watching and recording a show at the same time. Have anybody tried this before or know a way I can fix the problem?
I use to manual record and watch the shows from LiveTV as a domain user when I had the old gbpvr 98 version on my machine with no problem.
