Hello, I have GbPvr version 1.0.16 running on windows xp SP2 with full Administrative rights (Hauppauge PVR150 capature card). I am using "Schedule Direct" as my EPG and I can watch alll my TV channels on my computer but i'm having 1 big issue when I try to record shows to watch at a later time.
If i set my recording for a show and my computer is rununing the shows will record, but If I want to record a show during a time which i will not be home or if my computer is shut off, all my recordiing fail!. I tried reseaching the forum but did not find anything in particular relating to my problem? It does not give me any error messages either. The recording just fails.
I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions if you can help?
My system suffers from jerky playback, jeryky live tv, and also jerky animations in the new front end after coming back from standby.
I have always had this problem, its not new to 1.016, Ive just never posted about it as a full system restart fixes the problem.
It is still a little annoying though so I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything?
The system is absolutly fine from a fresh boot, perfect playback, nice smooth animations etc, but performance seems to deteriate after a few days of use and a reboot is required.
Hi, I've been using GBpvr for some time now and have enjoyed
the free TV Guide from Zap-To-It. I just recently found out
why my TV guide wasn't working any longer so I am looking
for another (FREE) solution. I looked at
I've just received my HVR1300 card which I've installed in my machine and also installed the drivers for it. I have connected My sky box via the composite input of the card. I then setup the capture source with one manually added channel.
Now when I start GBPVR.exe and navigate to livetv, I get a blank screen for about 2 seconds after which the application crashes. I then dismiss the dialog box by clicking "Don't Send".
I then tried the same but with PVRX2.exe and it works absolutely fine - no craches. But I prefer to use GBPVR.exe as I get tearing in the video(livetv, dvd, recordings playback) when using PVRX2.exe as it uses VMR9.
I then searched within the GBPVRnative log file and one of the last entries in it is "FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Enable pass-through". I then went into the Misc tab of config and unchecked the "live preview if possible". Now when I start GBPVR.exe and launch livetv it starts in timeshifting mode and works without any issues. But I would really like to get live preview working as I don't want it to keep recording all the time. I also tried selecting "None" in the Deinterlace dropdown keeping the live preview on. This time i get video with the interlace lines, but no audio.
I'm attaching the log files in this email for any of you who would like to have a look. Also, just to mention, when I check the Event viewer, i get the following error registered:
Quote:.NET Runtime 2.0 Error
Faulting application gbpvr.exe, version 1.0.2782.16263, stamp 00000026, faulting module atimcenc.dll, version 9.14.0.60829, stamp 462e53a3, debug? 0, fault address 0x00063054.
Sub, I have a problem installing version 1.0.16. I keep getting a rolling back error whenever I try to install the msi file. I have got the .net framework 2.0 on my machine and also the vcredist_x86 file install. I previously had version 99.05 install on machine and had no problems install it.
Okay I already have a HVR-1600 bringing in 5 QAM HD channels and my box connected via composite for the SD content. I am wanting to add another card mainly for the QAM channels, but would like it to be able to bring in the SD content as well probably through analog coax.
I was thinking of another HVR-1600, but it seems other cards are doing better at QAM and the price has went up a little. I also would have to run two sets of coax to the card and would prefer to only have to run one set of coax.
I also thought about a Fusionhdtv 5 Lite, but have read mixed opions on the forum.
Video Archive has been my primary - almost only - interface to my recordings since I started with GBPVR. It's a very important part of my setup.
However, I have an issue where I cannot find recordings of a different name than when they were originally recorded.
First off, a few words on my workflow and a possible source of my issue.
I do a lot of cartoon-recording for my 4 year old son Magnus. I group these recordings in a specific folder and then the shows in folders below. So apart from the normal folders in "Recordings", I have a folder called "1-Magnus" to have it easily available at the top of the list.
Folder structure is like
Recordings\1-Magnus\Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Recordings\1-Magnus\Transformers Cybertron
Recordings\1-Magnus\....
Recordings\A show recorded normally and not moved
Recordings\...

I either move the recordings directly as they have been recorded, keeping name etc. intact, or I edit them (using mpeg2cut2) so there's no commercials, and then rename them according to the relevant episode guide. E.g. "05-Nano.mpg" for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode 5 "Nano".
This used to work like a charm since late 2004/early 2005 when I started using GBPVR and VA. Even when I had my recordings spanned over 6 disks. A couple of upgrades ago, this has broken, and I'm REALLY missing the VA access to my renamed recordings.
Problem is primarily with the folders containing the renamed recordings. They simply don't show more than one or two recordings (literally).
From the logs, it seems that VA breaks from trying to find information on the recordings somewhere and there isn't anything.
I would really just like for VA to show the contents of the folders like it used to - information or not.
Logs attached.
I suspect the problem is in connection with the lines from the log like this:
09-23-07 08:37:18:281 [1] Record not found D:\PVR\Recordings\1-Magnus\1Padder\33-Secret Origins 2.mpg in archive database; trying to fetch from GBPVR database.
As a sidenote, the logfile states time as 08:37 but it is actually 20:37.
I will be happy to try to install any test version to narrow it down.
I've upgraded to v1.0.16 and switched to Schedules Direct. When GBPVR is launched and I choose recordings, the app simply freezes...nothing!
I can watch live TV, as well as record programs, but cannot watch recorded shows with GBPVR. In order to watch a recorded show, I have to use media player, or whatever. Kind of a drag.
