Is anyone using this? Price is quite a bit lower than Schedules Direct.
i am just now installing 1.0.16, and am having some problems setting it up
i have wintv pvr2 usb2, and have installed 1.0.16, and the patch to be able to use schedules direct.
when i have filled out the recording source and epg source, i click update epg. it says "requesting listing information from zap2it" even though i have chosen schedules direct. then a screen comes up that says your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly.
Is there an option to make the listing longer than the 2 hours default?
In 99.12 you could adjust it through the system tab , there's no such option in 16.0.1. I have Lcd tv's and like to see 4 hours at a time.
First, if you are uninitiated with ZProcess, it should be fairly straightforward. You should not need to adjust ANYTHING, if the auto-setup works.
For the purposes of the test, we are only interested in two things...
On- the- fly transcoding of dvr-ms files to mpg for viewing on MVP. We will have the option of CenterCut (remove pillar box from wide screen video) and Letterbox (16:9 rectangle inside 4x3 Video)
Commandline use of ZProcess to Post Process dvr-ms files to MVP ready MPGs and include centercut cropping...
The included zip has these files:
Copy these three files into C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ZTools RemoveAllZProcess.reg
ZProcess2.exe
ZTranscode.exe
and Copy this file into C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr Trans2MVP.exe
Note... Trans2MVP.exe is a replacement program for one that is installed by default by GB-PVR. If you need the old one, back it up before you copy the replacement version...
Also, you will need the special version of FFmpeg.exe that Barklet has made available to me. (Currently not available for download - hang on)
This should be installed (copied into) C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\FFmpeg
---
If you have worked with ZProcess before, then you should clean house. If you double click on RemoveAllZProcess.reg it should effectively remove all registry entries for ZProcess...
Next, start ZProcess2.exe. It will ask you whether you use PAL or NTSC...
Click ZProcess settings. Click the profile dropdown and make sure Trans2MVP is selected. Next Click the template dropdown, and select *4-dvr-ms. On the right click 'reset'. Uncheck 'Hide Consoles'. Then click save.
Close ZProcess. You're done...
---
Testing On the fly transcoding...
On the MVP find a dvr-ms file and click to play it. GB-PVR will call Trans2MVP.exe, which will call ZTranscode.exe, which will setup the on-the-fly transcode. After a few moments you should see your dvr-ms file, in letterbox format on your 4x3 TV...
Want CenterCut? (zoom the video so there are no horizontal black bars - you do do cut the left and rights of the video off though)
Open ZProcess2, click Settings, make sure Trans2MVP profile is selected. Check Center Cut Wide. Save. Close...
Try again...
A word about grunt.... (it's a work I've heard sub use and I like it)
DVR-MS to mpg transcoding takes much more power than previous transcode profiles. There are some test files, that I can't even transcode all the way through. The CPU just can't transcode fast enough.
If you have a fast computer, you should be able to transcode most if not all files on the fly. If you can't you may have to settle for the post processing option (discussed in a following post)
I've been seeing transcoding a lot here lately and just want to know more about it. First off, what are you transcoding? DVD's in a drive, avi files pulled from the web, divx or xvid rips of dvd's?
What are the minimum systems specs for transcoding an xvid file?
What software are you using to rip dvd's into files?
I know these are somewhat vague questions, I'm just trying to get an understanding of what the uses are and determine if it's something i want to start messing with.
Hi, I recently upgraded from 99.x to the new 1.0.16 and am using schedules direct. Nothing else on my hardware has changed but now I notice that i too am having no luck playing any recordings (Mpgs that were recorded by previous version of gbpvr).
These recordings all play correctly on the pc that has the capture card and is running the recording service.
i also notice that it takes minutes (not seconds like before) for the mvp to finally connect to the server. Once connected, then the mvp can display the tv guide and i can setup recordings no problem. ITs just that once I play back any recorded show, I get a black screen on the tv.
I notice that if I boot my pc, I get the mvp media server window minimized just like I used to. However I notice that once I play the mpg and the screen goes black, that window disappears. I then cannot seem to figure out how to get that back. There used to be a program called "mvp media server.exe" that I could stop and rerun to try to fix problems.
now I seem to only get that window if i reboot.
I am attaching my log - the show i was trying to play was "Barefoot Contessa". you can see from the log that the mvp server shuts down when trying to play this file.
Any chance GB-PVR could support the ATSC tuner on the KWorld PlusTV HD PCI 120 (model number VS-ATSC120). This has one coax input that can tune NTSC or ATSC. I'd like to use the ATSC in GBPVR. I see 2 chips on the card that have something potentially useful written on them. One is Conexant CX23880-19 the other is Samsung C645 S5H1409X01-T0. There is a third chip that is covered by a shinny metal cover (heat sink??? looks more like a chromed piece...). I tried setting it up as a KWorld ATSC 110, but that did not work (accepts it, and shows it in the recording status window of the system tray icon, but won't use it...just acts like there is no other tuner besides my Hauppauge). I've attached the log file from the FilterCHeck utility. Any suggestions or am I out of luck?
