Has anyone tried putting together a setup that would allow transcoding on another machine besides your pvr? I am trying to transcode an avi and view it on my MVP with zProcess. With my delay set at 16 seconds, the process works fine when I'm not recording anything, but when I'm recording with all 3 of my tuners the recording stops after a few seconds. I was thinking a work around would be to call a web service on another pc on my network (i.e. transPC) that would call zProcess (or some other transcoding program) on transPC and start the manual transcoding process on that machine.
The thing I'm thinking is that I'd love to start converting all of my recordings to avi's each night to save on storage space, but I've got to get the transcoding process working properly first. Any thoughts? Is there already something else out there that would help distribute this process amongst multiple machines?
Currently, I have all the files installed in the GBPVR directory. If I look at the folder I see all the logo files and cutting info. I believe the machine is attempting to cut because I get an 'original' and a newer one.
The problem is both files are the same. I also am using the postprocessing.bat. So maybe I have done something wrong but I just clean installed and followed the instructions but I know there is something I am missing..
In the past when gbpvr couldn't find a recording, it used to check for an avi file. That isn't working currently. When I transcode a file (through an outside script) and delete the original mpg or ts file, gbpvr can't find the avi file. The DB entry later gets removed. I changed AutoRemoveMissingRecordings to false to stop that removal. recordings-dump.xml lists the ts/mpg file. Here are my settings.
Yesterday I upgraded from 0.99.12 to 1.0.16. I upgraded only because of the zap2it shutdown and had a few problems arise. I then uninstalled GB-PVR and all plugins that had an installer, renamed the gbpvr folder, and installed 1.0.16 from scratch. I can now watch videos on the PC, but not on the MVP. When I try to watch a video on the MVP, the MVP reboots. Strangely, I can watch Live TV without problems, but cannot play a video through either the Recordings screen or the Video Library screen.
I installed all patches in the survival guide sticky, as well as one more patch (that I can't find right now) that enabled NetRadio.
I installed the test version of Video Archive and am also having problems with that on the MVP. When I try to launch that plugin at all, the MVP reboots. Sometimes it works on the PC and sometimes it hangs pvrx2.exe (PVRX2 shows "Not Responding" in Task Manager).
Attached is a zip of my logs folder from just after trying to watch a video (twice).
Any help will be MUCH APPRECIATED! My family loves GB-PVR and my little girl is missing her VeggieTales!
I followed all the steps in the hip guide from the wiki to control my STB with MCE IR-blaster kit.
When i open the hipWsend and send a channel directly from it, everything is working perfectly.
But when i try to change channels from GB-PVR (remote or keyboard give the same resault) each digit I send is translated to the digit under it (meaning when I press 8 the program translates it to 7). When pressing 1 by itself i get 0, but when pressing 1 and another digit after it, just the 1 is translated fine (meaning when I press 15 i get channel 14). Just to be clear, the correct digit is displayd on the top left part of the screen, but the STB gets the digit under it.
I think that the configuration of Hip and hipWsend are fine because changing channels directly from hipWsend works perfectly, so my guess is that i did something wrong with GB-PVR.
I use the latest versions of GB-PVR, Hip & hipWsend with a MCE kit plugged through USB. I didn't install any plugin yet.
The reason I started configuring Hip is that using the original MCE drivers and using the internal MCE2005 configuration of GB-PVR gave the same symptoms.
What should i do?
I just bought an ECD and want to rip the music tracks to my PC. Apparently it has 14 music tracks but also has 4 music videos, various jpgs for wallpaper and a screen saver. If I open the CD in Explorer I can see everything except there doesn't seem to be the standard CD audio files to rip. It just looks like a normal data CD.
Anyone know how these things work and how I can just rip the music tracks to mp3?
I just installed the newest version of gbpvr and want to set it up with my onair gt. How do I do this? It's not one of the officially supported cards I think?
I recently cut over to Schedules Direct for my EPG after trying some of the free solutions. It is certainly worth the money to subscribe!!
Everything was fine in my EPG until I went into the System section of GBPVR to check my disk utilization and while I was there I decided to update my EPG. After doing that my EPG become messed up.
The channels displayed within GBPVR are different then in the config utility. The config program is correct. Also I do not have any EPG data at all. I copied my gbpvr directory to another location and then uninstalled GBPVR. I then deleted my old GBPVR directory and reinstalled the app. Now my EPG is perfect but I am missing all my recordings. If I copy the gbpvr.db3 file from my backup to the new install I have my programs but my EPG is again messed up.
What I need to do is either import my recordings to the new database or use the old database but fix the EPG.
Help... Upgraded to 1.16 from 0.9x, run the MS .exe update, copied the new BackendCommon.dll to the main GbPVR directory (twice), rebooted too. I set my epg to SchedulesDirect, but I get the attached error when I hit "Update EPG in the config app. (jpg screen capture) and the config output is below "The remote name could not be resolved",
Any ideas much appreciated. Thank you.
