Used to use VA under 0.9.12 to archive programs off my main disk. Worked great.
Uninstalled 0.9.12; installed v1.0.16 fresh
Worked fine, but no VA plugins visible in GB-PVR Config program. Although it did create a daily log
/Jeff/archiveupdate.exe.log:
09/21/07 07:06:05:780 AM[1] In ArchiveOldRecordings
09/21/07 07:06:05:790 AM[1] ArchiveDays is 0 or not specified; exiting
Installed VA (v3.1, not test version), still didn't appear in plug-ins.
Installed VA-test version and copied 23 Aug patch to /plugins directory. It migrated VA database
Now VA appeared in Config program, but GB-PVR service will no longer start (!).
Any suggestions how to fix this? I'm currently unable to record anything because the GBRecordingService won't start.
Used to love using the auto-resume feature on v0.99.12
Now, when I start a partially-watched show in v1.0.16, it doesn't ask whether I want to resume where it left off, it just starts over from the beginning.
Config | Misc | Prompt for resume *is* Selected.
Is anyone else having this problem with v1.0.16?? Or is it just a quirk on my setup?
Having some grief getting GBPVR to display Live TV.
I am able run tuning assistant, see and identify 40-odd channels, Iâve setup EPG with ScheduleDIrect. I can record a show from TV Guide and play it back but when I go to watch LiveTV, every channel is blank. I can see the EPG data but no video.
Suggestions?
Win XP SP2
Sapphire (ATI) Theatre 650 Pro
Latest ATI Catalyst drivers and WDM
Regular cable input
I'm relatively new to this but I'm very impressed so far. However, I have a niggle with my MPV. Around the end of each TV program, I get a pause (which I gather is normal) but then about 60%-70% of the time, Live TV stops and returns to the guide. I've seen another thread on this (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27711) and having looked at my logs, I seem to have the same issue. The problem is that having looked at this thread, i have no idea how to resolve it !
One more question, I've tried to configure some video plugs but they don't seem to work in PVRX2. Is this functionality missing at the moment?
I got help from others in the forum in order to figure out how to setup a unsupported card in GBPVR. Here is how to set it up. Using GraphEdit I figured out the right names. I am putting the solution on the forum for others.
Edit the direct.ini file and paste the following about [Conexant Falcon]
Save and then go to add video card and you will be able to select XtremeTV. Thats it.

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to have GBPVR automatically start time shifting (i.e. recording the show in the background) as soon as live tv is started for a particular channel? Right now, I have to press the pause button to start the timeshifting as soon as live tv starts up in order to be able to ever rewind during the show.
As a recent convert from YGTV where his feature was built in, I found this feature really useful.
I am a new user to GBPVR and after years of BeyondTV and trying out Mediaportal and Sagetv, GBPVR is one of the simplest to use and operate.
I am now able to record tv then comskip and comclean it then compress to xvid all setup within the gbpvr config GUI and postprocessing.bat. You have no idea how many hours I research to do the same thing in the other 3 pvr software and it did not work.
Ok now after it is compress to avi is it possible to add a step to move the file to another directory and dereference from the gbpvr database? Dereferencing is not that important I can alway manually delete orphans but moving it is important.
I found a few archive tools (supersimplearchive) but it is used for video. Can I change them to fit this need?
I am trying to switch to using comskip during recordings. However, I tried that last night and it did not work, it found no commercials. But when I ran it afterwards, it found some. It always worked great in post processing. I have attached relevant files in both cases.
Also, changing the GBPVR config setting to run in parrallel did not cause it to run, I had to add parrallelprocessing.bat and add comkip there.
