After remuxing the .ts file to .mp4, then deleting the .ts file, it seems that the NextPVR Roku app is not detecting the .mp4 recording and won't play it. I first tried playing the recording with the web app and then I tried playing it with the Roku app.
I have NextPVR version 5.1.1.210329 running on Windows 10 64-bit, 24GB Ram, Colossus 2 card, and with DirecTV Genie Mini Client (model c61-100).
There's a field called "blaster executable path" in the settings->devices->local recorder->update channels popup of the NextPVR web app I've been wrestling with.
The video and audio works fine when I open the full NextPVR client app. But while inside there I just can't change the channels for some weird, unknown reason.
I can change channels using haupblast.exe in the NextPVR folder or blast.exe in the TVServer folder that's part of WinTV10 by using a DOS command line. But when it comes to inserting a "blaster executable path" in the field and having the NextPVR program windows app change a channel, it just won't work. I think I've tried all combinations reasonable and unreasonable after reviewing the forums.
Someone named "three6zero cool" seemed to have made NextPVR work so I tried many variations of " C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" in the first field and "/C --something-- {channel}". I tried entering filepaths that led to HaupBlast.exe or Blast.exe in all kinds of ways with no luck. One thing I noticed is that folks kept using a folder name called "NPVR" as opposed to the "NextPVR" folder created by the program. But I made sure to point to the right folder by checking if a channel changed using a command line and WinTV capture before attempting in NextPVR. I also changed HaupBlast to open as administrator and giving rights to all.
I'm soooooo close but not cigar. I've been pulling my hair out because I don't see rhyme or reason why the command line way works and not the program.
While I'm here, I'm also having a problem not showing the hundreds of channels I'm not going to view. I go to "settings" and clear lots of check marks but the channels still come up if I click away and back. I don't see a "save" function there. But that's more an an annoyance than the not changing channels. I just mention it in case there's an easy solution.
Help me Obi-Wan. You're my only hope.
I attach the .zip file the program generates for reference.

I recorded a 30 minute show that plays for about 25 min and then stops and quits the player. I get an error 5 - malformed data error that pops up before the player quits. I had no problem when viewing this recording with another Roku app or Kodi on the Fire TV stick.
Just before the point where it fails I do notice a bit of pixilation in the video when playing it with Kodi.
Remuxing the .ts files to .mp4 improves the NextPVR Roku app experience but that leaves two files for every recorded show. I found that deleting the .ts file breaks the NextPVR web client link to the recording.
So, I tried deleting the .ts file, then I renamed the .mp4 file to .ts. This fixed the recording link for the web client and it plays the recording fine. Kodi also has no issue with playing the renamed mp4 file.
I haven't tried yet but I assume the NextPVR Roku app will have no issues playing the mp4 file with a .ts file extension.
When I released the Roku channel I forgot to mention that this was created primarily for users who donate or otherwise support sub, the author of NextPVR with this excellent product. I feel that with users now paying for other PVR related services, IPTV, EPG, Plex, Emby, streaming devices etc, NextPVR may very well the most important thing they need but donations gets forgotten or put off for later. Sub offers NextPVR at no cost, but donations are welcome and there are fixed costs he must cover.
Users who donate or feel they contribute to NextPVR can contact sub via PM and you will be provided with a personal code which goes into config.xml and replaces the "none" in the <License>none</License> are. I didn't set any direction on how sub provides this code, it is just my way of saying thanks to sub. The process right now is to PM sub with the email address you used for Paypal, follow up with sub via PM.
I do not consider this a "trial" since whether or not you use the Roku app, you should still be donating to show your support to sub.
For users who choose not to PM sub for a code you can also uninstall the channel and reinstall the channel when it expires exactly 7 days after installation. You can do this earlier if you like to avoid surprises.
New recordings/in process recordings do not show up on Kodi 19. I have to restart Kodi or clear data to get them to show. This wasn't the case with Kodi 18.9.

NextPVR Version: 5.1.1.210329 Add on 8.2.1
Very nice work on the .deb file @Martin, thank you!
I log into NextPVR using my browser and I setup my IPTV Channel list. (Using Admin & password for now)
It looks like everything is working fine as I deselect the channels I'm not interested in. (Except for a naughty save button that disappears occasionally for some reason)
After I'm done importing & customizing my m3u list, I click the save button and I get:
192.168.0.147:8866 says: error!
I tried deselecting everything in my m3u list except one channel and still same issue.
Is my URL syntax ok? (h t t p : / /) somewhere.nice:1234/get.php?username=xxxxxxx&password=xxxxxxx&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
You guys sure made it easy so far!
Thanks,
ETA: I found my log. Is my problem because my "Scanner is not active"? How do I activate it?
I installed NextPVR within the last month or so. I was seeing choppy video playback, so I changed from Microsoft to LAV decoders. Now the video is smooth, but the fast forward, back, skip, etc controls don't work.
Should I just keep cycling thru decoders until I find one that works on my system, or is there a setting somewhere I'm missing, or...?
I am new to using nextpvr and IPTV in general. I seem to be getting sporatic 401 errors during recordings. There is a example snippet from a log for a recording set to go from 18:58 till 20:05 at the end of this post. The nextpvr web interface will say recording is still occuring, but by looking at the .ts file, it clearly stopped after this event in the log. This does not happen all the time, but seems to occur to 50% of my recordings. Sometimes it is 5mins in, sometimes 45 mins into a show.
I have read other posts in this forum that says this is an authentication error from the provider. I have contacted my provider and they basically said too bad/we dont care, but at least they confirmed it is not due to incorrect credentials.
I suppose the purpose of this post is just to confirm that my provider is the issue (and a bad provider at that). Or hope there is some workaround to get recordings to continue after these types of errors.
