I am new to this whole PVR thing.... I just installed v 1.0.8 and have been working through the config utility. I feel that I have it properly configured anyway...all the channels show up as expected. I worked through one of the start up guides.
My problem is this - once I run the GBPVR (not X2) and select TV Guide I get an error message that says no channels have been setup and to run the config utility and set up EPG source. I thought I did this already! Is the utility not communicating with the GUI.
Oh- I cannot run the PVRX2 as it crashes right away (not responding).
OK, I know there's the Video Archive (VA) plugin (which I use) and pBs super simple archiver, but I really only ever use VA for the Autoarchive function... but..as I almost exclusively use Xrecord (fave plugin), I'd like to wishlist an "autoarchive after X Days" for Xrecord.
THAT would be great and one less resource-hungry plugin for me.... any chance of that fellers ??
I want Tv on my server (with TV card) and TV on my clients.
I have read a lot of stuff in the documents and I have many things to do in my config.xml
Is there an easier way to configur GB-PVR on the server and client
Can somebody help me
sometimes I am recording a program, and than we I use my computer. Not open GBPVR or any other media program/recording source. GB-pvr will stop recording. Why does it do that, and what can I do to stop that?
My recording stopped recording after switching off the MVP?
I'll try and explain what I did.
I had a program scheduled to record for 22:55 (ALL ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS), as I went out for dinner.
I made it home in time and some minutes before 22:55 I started liveTV on the channel the show was to record on which was Billiards. This shows up in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native-1.log
I continued to watch that until ALL ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS started. It was such a chod game, so I exited GBPVR and switched off the MVP at half time (around 23:50).
I went upstairs, expecting to see the green GBPVR Tray icon still recording ALL ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS. It wasn't , to my surprise???
I restarted the recording service and it taped the 2nd half.
Did I press something by mistake, was it because I JUST caught the end of the previous show, or was it just chance?
I finally updated to the latest version a few days ago. Very very snazzy and I love it! At least when I'm using my PC. When I've tried using my MVP it's been depressing. It used to work excellently so maybe someone can offer some insight. On one hand I hope it's simple and easy to fix...on the other I hope it's something more complicated so that I'm not wasting your time asking for help to an easy problem. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything yet that helps.
The symptoms...
1) When I power up the MVP it contacts the servers for about 10 minutes (maybe 9 minutes 45 secs) every time before the menu comes up. The new menu does show and I can scroll through it.
2) I can see my video & audio files, the TV guide, and all my old recordings - however, when I try to play anything, especially the video I get a black screen and go nowhere for at least 15 minutes...this is all the longer I've let it sit. Back on my PC, the tuner is "watching" live TV but something is happening between there and the MVP I guess.
I'm going to post the one log I've seen requested a few times before...if there's anything else you would like to see let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
(I also looked to see if I could find the old version to download so i could roll back my install but couldn't find anything.)
Turns out the logs won't upload...maybe too large?? being over 300k. Ideas?
