PVRX2 - how to change list contents?
Posted by: DronnyBoyd - 2007-07-21, 03:20 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

I'm writing a simple video-library plugin, using BaseButtonListUiTask as the base for my plugin, and its all going ok so far. Except I can't figure out how to re-draw the list part of the view when the user selects (for example) a folder in the list view. I know how to get the list of files and all that, I just cannot figure out how to tell the base-class or the framework that my list content has changed.

I tried just calling uiList.setItemList() again with the new list, but that makes the plugin exit back to the main screen!

I'm sure its something simple but without any examples to work from (I've got the four that Sub posted in the "1.0.8 plugins" thread but they don't cover it as far as I can see).

Any help gratefully received!

cheers

Dronny

  MVP lan port dead
Posted by: simic - 2007-07-21, 03:16 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

I'm using wired MVP with a Linksys WAP54G loaded with DDWRT.

The streaming works fine, but it will always dies about 5 min into streaming any video.

I notice that the LAN port would be dead (no light) and soft on/off will not clear it. I will have to hard reset and reload the dongle to get the LAN port working again.

It used to work fine with the original linksys firmware, but I changed to DDwrt to get access to channel 13/14. (Airwaves are getting crowded in my neighbourhood).

HVR-1600 QAM tuning works, but then are saved as ASTC frequencies
Posted by: alnaln - 2007-07-21, 02:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When I tune in the QAM channels, the preview box displays them correctly. Then I use the map digital channels functionality to - well - map the channels.
That works.

But when I save the changes, and return to that screen, all the mapped frequencies are no longer QAM frequencies, they are ASTC frequencies.

Obviously, I cannot record anything on those channels.

One more tidbit of info, the "tuner status" display will correctly display the HVR-1600 ANALOG card, but the QAM display is blank. ""

Any thoughts?

I have the QAM updates applied (otherwise, I couldn't even tune the channels, right?)

I'm away from my HTPC right now, but if you need files or logs, tell me which ones and I'll send those along.

Thanks.

  iMON VFD
Posted by: skate15e - 2007-07-21, 02:32 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (105)

iMON VFD Plugin for anyone looking to display information on the iMON VFD. Specifically, I use this plugin to display on the iMON VFD in a Silverstone case. I requires no outside LCD controller, all the information is written directly to the LCD.

The plugin will display a default message (which can be set by the user on the config page) while GBPVR is running. I will also display currently playing video, audio, liveTV, and DVD information.

I plan to add functionality for more control over scrolling of text, display when recordings are occurring, and potentially the ability to display to time in the default screen.

This plugin is compatible with v1.0.8 and will install in it's own directory. If you are using < v1.0 then copy the .dll file from the iMONVFD folder to your plugins folder. Also copy the SG_VFD.dll file to your windows\system32 directory.

EDIT: The v0.81 located on page 3 of this thread is compatible with v1.0.16 PVRX2. (1 Sep 07)

EDIT: New Wiki entry for plugin-all new versions and source code will be posted here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...ion=browse

  mvpmc Report Card
Posted by: mvallevand - 2007-07-21, 02:16 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (20)

Two weeks ago when 1.0.8 was released I expected a flood of reports of problems with emulation mode, especially since Vista users weren't given too much choice. There have been a few hundred downloads probably twenty times as many as during earlier testing but I have not had any feedback. Since I don't actually use GBPVR this feedback is crucial or emulation mode won't get better.

I am eager to start porting emulation mode to other hardware but I don't want to do this until I feel I have a stable codebase and I would appreciate it if anyone who has tried mvpmc with GBPVR could give me an interim report card.

Thanks.

What's deleted when a recording is deleted?
Posted by: kendrak24 - 2007-07-21, 01:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi,

I've added some stuff to PostProcessing.bat to generate a preview image of the recorded show. The resulting jpg image is stored in the same directory as the recording, and shows up nicely in the recording list view (if in "large" mode).
However, when I delete the show, the image is not deleted. Not a big problem, but would it be possible to delete everything that has the same base-name as the show (e.g. CSI_20070701_22002300)? It does delete all comskip related files (.log and .txt) so I thought that when deleting a show it deleted <showname>.*...

TIA

P.S

For those of you that are interested, and know your way around a batch file, this is in my PostProcessing.bat to generate the preview image. (This has maybe already been posted, but what the hey...)
As you can see I select a snapshot image 8 minutes into the show, so you may want to change that to your liking. You need ffmpeg for this, but I think it is (was?) distributed with gbpvr, correct me if I'm wrong sub...
The resulting image is in the same resolution/size as the video, but it is scaled down when displayed in the recordings view. If you're picky, you could of course process the image further with some other tool to resize it to use less disk space...

@echo off
REM Enable Command Extensions
SETLOCAL ENABLEEXTENSIONS

REM Extract show name

REM Expand argument to get rid of any quotes
set tmpshow=%~1

REM Strip .mpg from filename
set show=%tmpshow:~0,-4%

REM Call ffmpeg
REM -i = input mpg
REM -f = output file type
REM -ss = where to start in mpg (hh:mmConfuseds) Higher value means longer processtime,
REM since ffmpeg seems to process up to this point first...
REM -t = how long part of mpg to process
"d:\programs\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\FFmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -i "%show%.mpg" -f mjpeg -ss 00:08:00 -t 0.001 "%show%.jpg"

  Conflict problems
Posted by: ripper - 2007-07-21, 01:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

As this is my first post I'd just like to say congratulations and thankyou to all those involved in the making of gbpvr, it really is some achievement.

On to my query, I have set a couple of scheduled recordings to run same channel, same time each week (ie West Wing and Studio 60). Under conflicts I get an entry for each show with the date and time of 01/01/0001 00:00-00:00. I have tried deleting them but they will not disappear. Any suggestions please? Also how soon before the day of recording on the "Pending" screen should set recordings appear?

  Problem with multiple recorders
Posted by: Shader - 2007-07-21, 12:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Last night when I was playing around with my MVP I noticed a big bug.
I have 2 tuners in my server which both where recording a show.
In the recordings/pending list they both appeared to be recording.
When I selected one of the shows in the list to start playing, GBPVR sayd it was going to play the right one but it actually played the other show !
I couldn't watch the show I wanted to see...
Going into Live TV didn't solve the problem. When I did... GBPVR sayd that none of my tuners where available, but I could watch a show which was being recorded. Selecting the 'right' show resulted in playing the other.

Specs are in my sig below.
