I've been using a wired MVP just fine. I recently added a laptop to my network, wireless. The laptop connects to my network with no problems. The laptop would actually make a better server for gbpvr than my rather outdated PC but when I load gbpvr onto the laptop, disable it on the pc and reboot the mvp cannot find the server on the wireless laptop.
Posted in Developer initially but still having trouble.
I installed Yahoo TV to go and set it up.
Downloaded the YahooXMLTv program by Whurston and extracted to devnz/gbpvr/XMLTv directory
Ran successfully
Opened gbpvr settings and changed to direct recording plugin and xmltv plugin and pointed to xml file created
Channels populated correctly in settings program
Opened gbpvr and the TV guide shows the channels on the left but the listings are blank. Also, only 10 channels are shown in the guide despite about 100 in the gbpvr config program.
I've tried this several time with emptying and reloading. Also ran through listing forward and back 7 days but no listings. I uninstalled gbpvr and reinstalled without success.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
E
PVRX2 looses focus when my system is set to "turn off monitor" after 4 hours. For example, I shut the TV off and go to bed, next morning I turn the TV on, usually hit an arrow on the remote to unblank the screen (like nudging the mouse when the screen saver comes on). With .99.12, I could begin using GBPVR. Now with PVRX2, I have to go grab the mouse and click anywhere on PVRX2 to restore focus to the app.
I can wake up my server from within my router: I telnet into the router and there I can enter the macadress from the system I want to wake, and it wakes up. I have constructed a webpage for that on my homepage, from there I telnet etc.
I tried other programs but afaik my router or modem won't let the wol-packages through (something like that). The above routine always worked fine(don't use it much).
I was on holiday the last few weeks and wanted to impress the lady by adding a (forgotten) recording I went into an internet-cafe and went to my homepage (so far so good) but then I found out that telnet wouldn't work, it opened a dosbox ok, but I couldn't do anything. I guess they had shut down the telnet ports, understandable. Luckily I was there at 16.30 and I knew my system would wake up at 17.00 for epg-update, so everything went smooth eventually.
I would like to see some idea's on howto bypass this.
Using the Hauppauge MCE Remote. How do I stop the Guide key from opening the Vista MCE Guide and how do I get the green start button to only open GBPVR? Right now it starts Vista MCE.
