After updating my version of GBPVR I cannot get my WMVP to connect. It was working fine till I updated it. It is however pulling an IP from the wireless router just isnt seeing the GBPVR service I reckin. Any ideas of what I must do? Is it the dongle.bin issue? Not sure but any help would be great. Thanks

I tried to use the 1.008 version and folowed the instructions as indicated, installed the C++ file and then GB-PVR, but now my EPG won't load, I checked the accounts and they don't expire till September and I can log in fine, I disabled my XP Firewall weekls ago and up until the upgrade I had no problem updating. I'll post a pic of the error.
I have been using GBPVR for around 2 weeks now and its been awesome so far. Much better than any alternative there is out there (I have tried both commercial and freeware).
Anyway, I have the latest version all set up and working except for one issue that is rather annoying. It happens when I first boot windows and choose LiveTV. It just sits there doing nothing (The tray icon is green though) and after around 20 - 30 secconds TV finally comes up. Now If I quit GBPVR and start it again there is no delay. Even when I close the GBPVRService and restart that there is still no delay. Its only after a fresh reboot. I have also waited 2 - 3 minutes before starting GBPVR to see if it was Windows loading a few services in the background but nothing, still the delay. I have even turned off EPG updates as I initially thought it was the EPG update causing the delay but still the same problem.
I am using GBPVR on a 2.4GHz P4, 512MB Ram, 40GB HDD, NV6200 GFX, Technisat Skystar2 with BDA Drivers.
What do you think could be the problem? Thanks in advance...
When I've got some more time available, I'll post more info for you guys on developing 1.x plugins, some tutorials etc, but in the mean time I wanted to get you some samples to look at.
For those that have developed plugins in the past, 1.x plugin is basically the same in that it implements the old IMenuTask interface, but in addition it also implements the new IUiTask interface. This IUiTask interface has a new method called GetRenderList() which is used to get a list of images and their location on the screen that make up the picture.
There some new base classes and control that really help simplify plugin development. These base classes are used in the first two samples below, and make it easy to do plugins that have buttons + list (for example Video Library, Recordings etc), or buttons + data (for example Weather plugin etc).
See attached
1) simple Hello World plugin, using the BaseButtonListUiTask base to show a list of button on the left, list view on the right, much like the Video Library, Recording screen etc.
2) Weather plugin skeleton. This was a skeleton I supplied to Jeff, gives the basic layout of the weather plugin... a few buttons on the left, data one the right, simple popup.
3) DVD Ripper plugin. This was a fully functioning DVD Ripper plugin using the new GUI.
4) Tile plugin, showing some advanced animation techniques, similar to those seen in Vista MCE.
Sub, this isn't a big issue as you are, no doubt, fielding larger problems...but it seems that, after moving the GBPVR program folder in the start menu and then trying to start the program, the Windows Installer reappears and runs through quickly (assuming the install file is in the last place I left it). It's kind of annoying so I just wanted to let you know. It happened in the past but usually only once per version install.
I just installed the new version, and tried to use the new UI by running pvrx2.exe. This seemed to cause my computer to lock-up. The clock in the taskbar stopped incrementing(I have it set to display seconds). However, the mouse pointer still moved, and I was able to bring up taskmanager with CTRL-ALT-DEL.
Taskmanager showed two processes named pvrx2.exe were running; one using about 8 meg of memory and 0% cpu, and the other using about 45 meg of memory and 0%-2% cpu. There was no GB-PVR UI displayed, although there was a PVRX2 icon on the taskbar.
The only way I could get my computer to return to normal was to use taskmanager to kill the pvrx2.exe process that was using more memory. If I kill the other pvrx2.exe process, it starts back up by itself. I tried stopping the GBPVR Recording service, and that killed the pvrx2.exe process, as well.
I rebooted the computer, and the pvrx2.exe process is being started automatically, with the GBPVR Recording service.
The very first boot screen of the mvp with the 5 white / blue rectangles gets as far as the second box being blue, then drops back to 1, then 2 again, then 1 etc.
I then backed up the latest dongle, uninstalled gbpvr completely, (including renaming gbpvr folder) reinstalled 99.12 and the MVP worked first time.
I then copied over the backed up dongle from 1.08, power cycled the MVP and still it works no problem, so the latest dongle is fine, but the MVP server is just not working for me.
Ive now re-installed 1.08 and again MVP dosent get based second blue rectangle.
Version 1.08 installed fine, nice to see a DirectX interface !!
I was very happy to see this version seems to have fixed the standby issues I had when setting FSE.
I have a small issue with the main menu however.
The system submenu isnt there, (it is enabvled in the plugins config panel), has this been removed?
The Exit to windows option is there on the main menu despite being disabled in the plugin tab of the config app.
Getting rid of exit on the main menu is important for me in case the wife or kids exit as there is no mouse / keybord so I have to NVC in to restart PVRX2.exe.
