I may have spoke too soon yesterday when I said everything was working great. I don't see any issues when I use the old interface (GBPVR.exe). But when I use the new interface (PVRX2.exe), I see two issues:
1. In scenes of high action (i.e., lots of movement), I see stuttering occur. I'm using the overlay renderer, BTW. It almost looks like an interlacing problem, but I think it's just stuttering. I tried running in -fse mode, but it still occurs. With GBPVR.exe, there is no stuttering.
2. The commercial skips are all off. Not sure what's happening with this one, but they are off. I thought it was a general thing, but I ran with the GBPVR.exe and the commercial skips are fine with it.
I have attached the logs after running with both executables.
I have the following problem: when I use GBPVR in LivePreview mode, all works perfectly. No problem.
But if I use Timeshifting mode (uncheck "use livePreview mode if possible"), GBPVR hangs when I do a channel change. Sometimes it hangs at first channel change, or perhaps it can change first time, but hangs at second or thirdth channel change.
I use a Hauppauge HVR-1300 (that works perfectly in Wintv2000 and in GBPVR livepreview mode).
I can not access network shares with 1.0.8 (built in music player and photo viewer). neither with the share name nor with drive letter assigned. simply nothing happens if I try it, local drives and directorys are ok.
windows (xp pro sp1) can access the shares (nas), with 99.12 it was ok.
I'm working on a PVRX2 Themes skin. Around 6 different Themes are included.
The goal is to make Themes that are 100% compatible with Blue skin and all Plugins.
I'm still aligning elements and changing images....so it a beta....kind of.
But if you want to try it so download from: http://www.hyperlinkx.com/PVRX2.zip
There are 3 different skins n the TVguide dir. 1 original design and 2 for icons only. Rename preferred tvguide skin to skin.xml
Change Themes by running the CopyTheme.bat in the _Theme folders.
I have an Asus M2A-VM HDMI motherbooard with the AMD 690G graphics.
I am using a Hauppaugee PVR150MCE for Live TV an recordings
With the new PVRX2 Live TV stutters if I use encoder-pass-trhough enabled.
Doesn't matter if I try with overlay, VMR9 or FSE, LiveTv stutters in all modes.
If I disable encoder-pass-through, Live TV runs smoothly, but the I get lip-sync problems after a while.
With old GBPVR LiveTV works fine with encoder-pass-through enabled.
I'm using Cyberlink PowerDVD6 video and audio decoder.
I did an upgrade installing the new version. I am running XP and have two video cards. The new interface is showing half on both monitors (Monitor 1 is my integrated NVIDIA GeForce4 MX with my 40" LCD, Monitor 2 is an ATI Radeon 9250). If I run GBPVR, it is fine and on the 40" by itself, PVRX2 splits between the two monitors.
The option for run on second monitor is gone in the new configuration. I tried my trick of opening in windowed mode, dragging GBPVR over to the other monitor and then turning off windowed mode and it didn't work. It also has lines on the screen (black).
"LiveTV" mode is forcing me to use Live Preview mode no matter what I have set up in the configuration app. It also appears not to be deleting the temporary recordings and is using up a lot of disk space until I delete manually.
Could a few of you who are using the new version and the old interface check your LiveTV buffer directory (you can check where this is on the "Directories") tab and see if your buffer is not being flushed afterward?
I have set up GBPVR to work together with a Hauppauge MVP box on an old P3-700 PC. After some tweaking things are working fine so it brings me to the next step. How to automate the start & stop of my old noisy PC by using WOL as my wife asked me to put this old noisy thing somewhere in the basement as it makes to much noise in the living room. As for shutting down the PC after some time of not using it or by switching of the MVP box, the utility "PC_powermng_timer" does a great job. However switching on the PC again by using the WOL possibilities I have a problem.
The WOL on the PC is working fine and I can wake up the old PC from another PC using WOL tools but only when I use the MAC address to send out a complete WOL frame. Unfortunately a simple IP address Ping doesn't trigger the PING/ARP functionality on the WOL ethernet adapter to wake up the PC from hibernate. I even tried with 2 other WOL ethernet cards but I have always the same problem (probably due to old PCI compatibility in the BIOS of the PC and no newer BIOS can be found). Sending a specific WOL frame including the MAC address however works fine. Also from hibernate mode.
Now you might be thinking, hey this has something to do with your PC bios set up and the adapter advanced settings, APM & PME settings etc. You're right and I know about these settings and have tried multiple set ups but it seems this old PC can only be waken up when sending a real WOL wake up frame and not from a simple ping to it's fixed IP address on the DHCP server.
Now here is my question. I'm looking for a solution to wake up my old PC by switching ON the MVP box.
As mentioned before switching OFF the PC works fine by using the utility "PC_powermng_timer" but switching on again the PC by switching on the MVP box doesn't work. I've hoped that the MVP would wake up the PC when it tries to connect to the GBPVR server during the start up "Contacting Servers" phase by using the know IP address in its settings when it loaded GBPVR MVP GIU the first time it was set up. Unfortunately it doesn't and probably this is because a simple ping to the WOL doesn't wake up the PC. I need to send a real WOL frame.
I'm wondering when switching on the MVP box it is looking for the GBPVR server on the IP & MAC address as set up in the MVP box settings when it was initialised the first time (Power cable disconnect / connect functionality). If understood correctly the MVP box loads a Unix GUI from GBPVR when it is powered on the first time and during that set up you can also select the GBPVR server IP address were to connect to each time you swith the MVP ON afterwards.
So wouldn't it be possible as the MVP has the information in its set up to send out a WOL frame to the correct PC when the MVP is switched ON?
Or is there a possibility to program the MVP box or GBPVR in such a way that the MVP sends out a real WOL frame to the GBPVR PC during the startup "Contacting Servers" initialisation phase. This could then wake up my old noisy PC so we can put it somewhere downstairs.
If anyone could help or give some advice, it would be great.
Ciao.
