GB-PVR 99.12 / Nova T 9003
Playing any AVI file through GB-PVR as soon as I press stop, or menu, or back/exit, the video stops playing but I am left with just a black screen. It does not respond to any remote or keyboard presses, and all you can do is close the software and re-start.
The same AVI files play fine in all other media players.
The GB-PVR logs do not show any errors:
I'm currently running GBPVR 0.98.13 and it has been working flawlessy for months now. I would like to upgrade to 0.99.12 but am concerned about creating problems. Is there an upgrade guide available that can help me with doing a smooth upgrade?
I have been trying to get gbpvr to do the following things for a while now. Previously I didn't care about commercials or filenames, but now I want them working.
1. Transcode all mpegs recorded to mp4 format (gbpvr is fantastic at this by the way).
2. Rename the files outputted so that instead of Showname_date_time.mpeg it would read the showname - episode title.mp4.
3. Cut out commercials.
The problem is that post processing doesn't seem to want to do all 3 of these for every file. Some mpegs are cleaned and renamed, but aren't transcoded. Others are transcoded but not cleaned or renamed. Others are lucky enough to have all three applied to them. Here is my post processing batch file (unfortunately, I don't have a log file for comclean or renamerecording because I accidentally forgot to do >> as opposed to >, but when I actually get some data this way I will post it):
[HTML]
@echo off
Rem PostProcessing.bat
Rem This script will be run automatically by GBPVR when found after a recording is finished
Rem To enable it put this file inside your GBPVR default program directory (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\)
Rem together with Comskip.exe, Comskip.ini and Comskip.dictionary
Rem The script is called with two parameters
Rem %1 is the fully qualified name of the recorded mpeg file.
Rem %2 is the channel number of the recording
echo Postprocessing.bat invoked on %1 recorded from channel %2 >>postprocessing.log
Rem The part below can be used to not run Comskip on certain channels, please modify for your conveniance.
Rem The channel numbers that should be skipped are the numbers between the double quotes ("").
Rem You can add "if" lines as much as you want
Rem To disable this behaviour use channel numbers outside the normal range, put a "rem" before the "if" or
delete the "if" lines
Rem list of channels to not run comskip on
if "%2" == "27" goto eof
if "%2" == "36" goto eof
Rem this trick also makes it possible to have dedicated comskip.ini file for certain channels.
if "%2" == "79" goto channel79
if "%2" == "72" goto channel72
if "%2" == "65" goto channel65
Rem use the default comskip.ini for all other channels
goto generic
:channel79
comskip --ini=channel79.ini %1
goto continue
:channel72
comskip --ini=channel72.ini %1
goto continue
:channel65
rem This is an example of how to reuse a previously learned logo to prevent Comskip from learning the wrong
logo
comskip --ini=channel65.ini --logo=channel65.logo.txt %1
goto continue
:generic
Rem The actual run of Comskip. Only one parameter, the name of the mpeg file to process.
Rem Comskip will read its settings from the Comskip.ini found in the same directory as Comskip.exe
Rem Both are supposed to be in the GBPVR default program directory. (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\)
comskip %1
:continue
Rem Once the commercials have been identified you can run comclean to delete the commercials from the
recording.
Rem Do this only when you are not using the Skip function in the GBPVR viewer.
Rem To enable comclean remove the word "Rem" from the following line.
rem call comclean %1
call comclean %1 >> comclean.log
del "%~dpn1.log"
del "%~dpn1.txt"
del "%~dpn1.logo.txt"
del "%~dpn1_original.mpg"
RenameRecording -t %1 >> rename.log
:eof

I have downloaded THMpgMux_5.0.0.2022_.ax (as per other threads) but when I go to register it using "regsvr32 c:\path\to\THMpgMux.ax" I get an error, see atached, saying that no registration helper is availble for this file type.
Needless to say when I run the Muxchecker it says that no multiplex filters found.
Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

I have seen a number of people have problems with the installation of ePSXe causing an exception error to be thrown.
After removing gamezone and ePSXe completely from my system, I can confirm this is an issue with gamezone and not the one I thought it was when I responded to people previously.
How did this come about? I have somehow managed to delete the "browse" button for the bios, AND it does not say in the installation window that you need to set the BIOS, although it does mention it in the wiki; all in all a confusing situation for everyone.
The ePSXe configuration does ask that you set the BIOS but this is not enough you must also set the BIOS path and filename in the GameZone configuration settings BEFORE you click on OK. As a workaround you can type or copy n paste the path and file name into the BIOS textbox and this will complete the configuration until I release a fix in version 1.2
Note that ALL the items in the Mandatory section which includes the BIOS textbox must be completed.
Trying to make my music player a bit better. Loading playlists were a place where the UI would stop while a large playlist was loaded. So I'd like to make it load in background.
I've managed to make it start a new thread to load the playlist files inthe background ok. But the problem comes when trying to play them.
If I try to play a track while it loading, and call a PluginHelperFactory.AddAudioFileToQueue() both within the playlist class (that's currently loading - i.e. so in the new thread) or an event that fires when each track is loaded I get
Code:
Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'HomeMenu' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Any pointers to how I should be doing this?? I'm pretty new to multi-threading...
I'm sorry but I just don't understand how the musiclibrary2 plugin works. I used the config utility to set my music libraries, then scanned all my music. When I then restore the GB-PVR on my PC, it shows all my music within the MusicLibrary2 boxes.
However, if I don't fire up config first, then nothing comes up under the categories except <ALL>. And no matter what I do, I can never see my music when using the Hauppauge MVP on my TV. It always shows <ALL> with no music titles. Since I don't use GB-PVR on my PC, only emulated on my MVP, this does me no good.
Is MusicLibrary2 even supposed to work under the Hauppauge emulation mode?
