I live in Ireland, I have a Hauppauge HVR3000 and with wintv2000 I can find and view the Free to Air channels ( bbc 1, bbc2, bbc3 etc ) on Astra 2d.
My problem is I can't find these channels using GB-PVR - it does find channels but they look like they are encrypted ( sky based ). I have read the threads and tried different options with no success ( subs - NativeUtil patch). I have a universal LNB and have set these to 9750, 10600, 11700 - but this has made no difference.
GB-PVR - Is perfect for my needs in all other ways
Hi guys, I've searched through the forums on this but there haven't actually been precice instructions on how to do this.
I want my PC to wake up about 15 minutes before any scheduled recording. I have it hibernate. I know GBPVR has a "wake for epg reload" but I haven't found an option to actually wake for a recording.
This is my first venture back to GBPVR in a looooooong time. I am having a few issues I hope someone can help me with;
1. Using the Sassari skin the video OSD looks low res. Fonts are jagged and blurry.
2. Cinema plugin in not saving my chosen list of theaters, no matter which 'scraper' I choose to use.
3. How can I get my cover art for my videos to be displayed? I have .jpgs saved in the folder of each movie, some have multiple images. I tried VideoArchivePlugin3 which resulted in a crash with the config.exe, and the test version has an error during install.
4. Can You Tube video be played with an external player such as VLC, so they can be streamed?
*On a side note, I started a thread similar to this a while back, but I could not locate it*
I have a HVR1600 with the dual tuners. One tuner is setup using the cable line, and I have it configured with Zap2it and GBPVR. Everything seems to work fine...
I also have my other tuner connected to the HD antenna, and I have installed the second tuner (on the same card) as a different "tuner" in gbpvr.
I then mapped the digital channels. That worked fine.
I only get in about 5 hd channels, and when the EPG updates, it brings in listings for like 45 channels... so I unchecked the box saying "enabled" and I figured that would do it...
But it didnt. When I updated the EPG, those channels are "enabled" again, and take up tons of space on my on screen guide, for channels that I do not even have
I am sure I am setting something up wrong, or have missed something... can someone help?
I've got my GB-PVR box working pretty much as I'd like now, and I've got onto considering power consumption. Obviously this concerns me for two reasons - environmental worries, and the costs to myself. My box sits in my living room, and is currently on 24/7. The problem I have is that the machine hosts EWA, and I would like to (eventually) use it as a general purpose web/file server. As I understand it, this probably means that I won't be able to use standby. I have set the hard drives to power down after ten minutes of activity, and I always turn the TV off completely when I am not using it. Does anyone have any idea what sort of power consumption a system such as this (see my sig) would use when idle? I am guessing it must be around 100w or so?
I was wondering what tips other people could give me to reduce the power consumption of the machine. Am I wrong about there being a way of using standby for my purposes? Are there other ways of reducing the power consumption of the machine when idle? What general tips can people offer?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions offered
I have a Sweetspot RGB capture card which I use to watch my skybox through GBPVR using the software recorder plugin. (the only reason I do this is the picture quality is much better than I can get via the more usual composite or SVHS signal)
I dont have software encoder for this source (I actually record sky using a composite feed to a Hauppauge PVR500 card)
I there a way of telling GBPVR that the sweetspot card is a Watch only source (so that the record option is disabled for this source in the menus)
