  Recording Once Program Has Started?
Posted by: DjangoBaptiste - 2021-02-03, 12:34 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

I'm coming from SageTV.  In SageTV, when you watch a program in LiveTV and during the program decide that you want to save the program your watching as a manual recording from when you first tuned in, you can. You simply hit a record icon on the OSD.

In NextPVR, it appears you have to escape your way out of LiveTV and go TV Guide and commence the recording, but it only records from that point on, leaving the prior video footage unrecorded.  Is there a work around?  I miss that feature in SageTV.https://omegle.onl/ vshare

  Proposal for a new features.
Posted by: bohosh - 2021-02-02, 08:17 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

For me it will be very useful to have a possibility to "restart", "stop" and "start" the nextpvr server from web based page.
Other feature that I want to see in some new versions is the possibility to stop any live tv stream (not all of them at once, but one by one).

  v5 Multiple tuners
Posted by: bandjaci - 2021-02-01, 03:00 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (11)

NPVR v3 -V4 with Windows XP  5 DTV tuners
1 tuner per OTA network  ( if there was any reception problems could isolate to which tuner )
EPG would update from all tuners and on live tv so late EPG changes would appear in Guide

When PC died, upgraded to Windows 10 & NPVR v5.
Setup Tuners ( 1 Tuner per Network)
PROBLEM     EPG is available from 1 tuner only, so selected
Tuner1 - 7 Network
Tuner2 - 9 Network
Tuner3 - 10 Network
Tuner4 - SBS Network
Tuner5 - ALL Networks (EPG update)
This was OK for 2 days until somehow EPG update used Tuner1 and only had those channels in the Guide.
Had to Rescan Tuner 5 to find new channels the update EPG
Reboot PC for changes to take effect

Question  Is it possible for EPG update to scan all tuners, or use a file containing details of which tuners and frequencies to use ?

  Where is Config.xml on Mac?
Posted by: ahatheway - 2021-01-31, 02:43 PM - Forum: macOS - Replies (6)

I have forgotten my password for NextPvr and everywhere I look it says to edit the config.xml file.  But I can't find it anywhere on my Mac.  In the NPVR folder there is a config file but it specifically says do not edit.  How can I get my password back to "password" on a mac?

pvr.nextpvr timeshift seek bar reproducibly breaks at specific buffer length Android
Posted by: mmortal03 - 2021-01-31, 10:41 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (22)

When using the pvr.nextpvr add-on in Kodi, I'm seeing the timeshift seek bar break (disappear) in Kodi Leia and Matrix RC1 on two different Android 32-bit devices, but not on Windows 10 64-bit. The two Android devices I'm testing are a phone running LineageOS 17.1, and a Fire TV Stick 4K. It happens after an *exact* amount of buffer time has elapsed (35 minutes and 47 seconds), reproducible every time, even though my buffer minutes on the NextPVR server is set for much more time than this (180 minutes). I've reproduced it using TV channels with HD and SD resolutions, so it doesn't seem specific to the buffer file size, just the length. I'm testing it without having guide data -- I don't know if having guide data changes things, but it's also easier to witness the specific timing of the 35:47 mark being reached if no guide data is present to replace the timeshift buffer length read-out (the denominator).

To be sure, my server's Live TV buffer directory has plenty of storage space, and I checked the system memory usage in Kodi System info and didn't notice any memory leak or anything. Also, neither of the tested Android devices' storage is full. Anyway, it would seem improbable that two different client devices' storage circumstances would result in a bug that occurs at exactly the same amount of elapsed buffer time.

Here's an example log (not verbose), but I don't know if it's really that helpful: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kf5oghi94z7ucp...8.zip?dl=0

In this log, I started watching WKRN at 23:02:04.629, paused playback, and waited. Immediately on reaching 35 minutes and 47 seconds of timeshift buffer, the seek bar disappears, leaving what looks sort of like the realtime controls, but with pause functionality still working, but no seeking ability. In other words, the TV stream at this point can continue to be played and can be paused, with the buffer stream continuing to be captured on the server, but it becomes no longer possible to skip forward or backwards.

Doing math on the log times, I just don't see an obvious error entry, as I would expect it to occur in the log immediately following 23:37:50, but nothing eventful seems to occur there. I can work on producing another log in verbose mode if necessary, but hopefully someone can reproduce this issue on another system and it isn't some weird quirk pertaining to just my server and two Android devices.

Video Restrict Recording Space
Posted by: foucomm - 2021-01-30, 09:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi everyone,

i'm new on this forum but not new with nextPVR. Everything is going well except that i will like to restrict Nextpvr on the space it coould use to record since the same drive is use for something else. And i would like that NextPVR delete the old recording when space run out. Like first in, first out.

Thanks

  "starting device"?
Posted by: guthrie - 2021-01-30, 06:54 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (10)

I installed the windows system, and it then opens a client in web browser.
It scanned for channels, found 74 channels.
They are all listed in the Channels screen (with names!), and clicking one it goes to the play/display window, but always says: "Starting Device - please wait".

The device is AverTv H837, and clearly it did recognize it and use it to get all the channels and names.

But no video.

Hi

Has anyone managed to set up the app to be accessed externally when using a reverse proxy? I've got it working when on the same network but not sure what to use for remote access.

My address is https://pvr.xxxx.com but not sure whether to use https:// in the address etc.

Thanks

Question Certain Channels Fail to Start for Only NextPVR. Kodi & HDHR Play Fine
Posted by: footballerccs - 2021-01-30, 01:47 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Hey all, I hope this post is useful to more than just me. I know I've received buckets of help from lurking these forums. Now it's my turn I suppose.

I use Cable Cards via Cox. v5 on one machine, v4 on another. I have NextPVR, Kodi, and HDHR app. I've only really tested on the v5 machine, but have observed this occurring on v4 machine with same channels. This happened once before to channel 1007 (ABC-KETV), but somehow that got fixed and is now playing just fine in NPVR.

Right now, when trying to play live tv (or a recording from one of these channels) using NextPVR, I get only blank screen and tuner is activated. I don't get an error message, I'm able to hit stop to return to guide, and I can select a different channel and it will play just fine. Also, with a channel that doesn't work in NPVR, it does work in HDHR or Kodi using same tuners. Recordings also play just fine using Kodi.

I've tried changing decoders, settings of decoders, looking through the logs for anything useful / obvious. I just can't tell why it's behaving this way.

I'm able to watch these channels via the Web app (browser) that otherwise turn blank screen on desktop app.

Channels that don't work; 1010 (Fox-KPTM), 1042 (CNBC), 1041 (E!),
Channels that do work; 1008 (NBC-WOWT), 1009 (ABC-KETV), many others.

I almost want to say this happened when NPVR glitched when starting a channel and crashed. I haven't tried uninstalling / reinstalling since lots of other channels work, along with other applications.

I much prefer NPVR, but will use Kodi in the meantime. I hope you can find something to fix in the logs i've attached.

Take care,
footballerccs
