Lights-Out for Windows Home Server 2011?
Posted by: TuckerDean - 2021-01-28, 01:35 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi,

at the moment I am using Argus TV since 1 year. Now I am testing NPVR as backend on Windows Home Server 2011 for its streaming and other great capabilities.

Everthing is running fine after setup, but my Lights-Out installation for Windows Home Server 2011 go into standby during recording.

For Argus TV there is a plugin, which is filling the calendar with time frames for wake up the server and preventing the standby during scheduled recordings.

As I know there is no plugin for NPVR. Lights-Out can also monitor files and processes to prevent the standby. Does NPVR maybe create a process or a file during recording?Tweakbox Appvalley https://vlc.onl

Italian IP channels on Next PVR

How come these channels will stream via VLC but not on NEXTPVR? They are all from the same supplier

[Bug] Changing pre/post padding defaults for schedules fails
Posted by: janoonk - 2021-01-28, 07:38 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (3)

1. Make a advanced recording from TV Guide (leave everything default) and Save
2. Go to Scheduler > Pending and edit the one you created in step 1. Notice that the pre/post padding values are the current defaults from Settings > General
3. Go to Settings > General and change the pre/post padding defaults
4. Go to Scheduler > Pending and edit the one you created in step 1. Change the pre/post values to Default.

Actual result: Edit again and you will notice the values are *unchanged*.
Expected result: it should take the current default values from the settings.

The same bug happens when editing the Recurring schedule.
The same bug happens if you choose a "record series"-recording in step 1 (which is logically since an advanced recording with default values is also of type record series (all-episodes))

Btw 1: changing the values to a different concrete value does work correctly.
Btw 2: if you make a simple "record once"-recording it does work as expected.

  Web Client info
Posted by: VCR58 - 2021-01-26, 10:05 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

1. HDHR tuners indicate HD channels in their channel lineup list. If possible it would be nice if NextPVR indicated an HD channel in the guide.

2. A link or icon to display the codec info in the web client would be a cool feature IMO. Maybe something similar to the Jellyfin web client.

  KNEWC or something else ?
Posted by: Kiwiamg - 2021-01-26, 12:17 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (8)

I am getting very confused. I am trying to migrate off a SageTV system I have been nurturing for 15 years.

My basic need is to have a Client on a number of FireTV  boxes (Roku too would be a bonus but not overly concerned). I want the client to have an EPG, DVR and Comskip and the server to use my TBS cards.

So far I’ve been in a merry go round of Plex, Emby and NextPVR. I have bought short subscriptions for the first two but neither supports the TBS cards,  but I like their UI and will keep one of them for music and video libraries.

I have been able to get NextPVR up and running with EPGcollector for the EPG. Was pretty easy imho.

My question is what is the best way to get comskipping NextPVR client on FireTV box? I understand the NextPVR plug-in no longer works with Emby. I have setup KNEWC on Kodi but the UI client looks low res and doesn’t respond to settings in Plugin  configuration tool.

Am I barking up the wrong tree or should I just throw in the towel and get a HDHomerun for Native Plex or Emby TV streaming ?

  Extended Recording Stopped Early
Posted by: jcole998 - 2021-01-25, 02:56 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (26)

I knew the AFC game would louse up the program schedule afterward and it did by overrunning about 31 minutes. I had earlier changed the recording item for FBI scheduled to start at 9:59pm and extended it with 45 minutes of post-padding.  I thought I had solved the problem until I looked at the .ts file which showed the length at 1h20m. I checked the file with VLC and it did stop way before the extension I had provided for completed. I also noticed that The Rookie recording was only 24min, not the 1h2m I'd expected.

The log shows:
- The Rookie started on time at 10pm but was shut off after 24 minutes.
- The FBI started on time but stop at 11:20PM, not at 11:45 like I'd set up.
- IDs used the identify scheduled events in the log are mixed up and an ID for FBI was used for The Rookie. Or vice-versa.

Logs attached. I hope this can be unraveled. Two show failures. Most unlike NextPVR.

Thanks.

  On-demand/on-pause timeshift in Kodi
Posted by: loucurapt - 2021-01-24, 06:45 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (13)

In Kodi with the NextPVR addon, when timeshift is enabled, switching channels takes a few seconds and live TV is also a few seconds late.
With "real time" switching channels is very fast, but there's no timeshift.

What if there was an "on-demand" timeshift mode?
Live TV would work as if "real time" was active, but pressing pause (or a "Timeshift" button) would start timeshift mode from that point forward in that channel.
Switching channels would be fast, and timeshift would also be possible.
Would that be possible?

Obviously, the best experience would be if timeshift was automatic (as it currently is), but switching channels was as fast as "real time" and live TV was also like "real time".

Nevertheless, this is currently still great software!

Windows client stuttering audio and video playback...
Posted by: dazzaxjr - 2021-01-23, 09:17 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (19)

Hi,

Have a problem with the windows client in that it seems to pin GPU usage at 100%, and I assume it is this making the audio and video stutter on playback.

I have tested several recordings from different channels, and all have the same issue. Bizarrely Npvr client seems to use high GpU whether it’s playing back a video or not.

I have tried playback in web client, and there it uses minimal GPU and plays back without stuttering.

Is this a know issue?

Thanks.

4 Channel Icons don't show up
Posted by: UncT - 2021-01-23, 09:02 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

My CBS icon shows up on the guide but CW does not. Channel 27.1 is CBS. 27.2, 27.3, 27.4, and 27.5 show up as a square - no icon. Here are the log files - any thoughts?
