I have a suggestion for the wiki. Rather than noting on each plugin/utility whether it works with a specific version of GB-PVR, (the list could get long), we could note whether the developer is actively involved in keeping the software current and to which version it is considered backward compatible...
Maybe a 'last updated', 'last version of GB-PVR', 'Backward compatible to xxx version'...
Something like that. I haven't done mine because I thought we might want to all be on the same page...
I'd like to be able to schedule a manual recording from the command line using sqlite3.exe. At first this seemed simpler than trying to right a c# app that accessed the api calls.
I thought that all I should have to do is this:
sqlite3 gbpvr.db3 "insert into recording_schedule values(15,'',2,2,'c:\testme1.mpg',0,0,'2007-05-30 08:00:00.0000000','2007-05-30 08:13:00.0000000',43,1,1,2,0,'')"
Note that those are double quotes surrounding the insert command and two single quotes for fields that are left blank. All I did was take the values from an existing, good scheduled recording and change the file name and the time.
It is correctly inserted into the database. I can see it when I do a select * from recording_schedule.
The problem is that when I open up the media center interface, there are no scheduled recordings listed.
This version fixes various bugs reported in the previous test release (although I may not have gotten them all and may have introduced new ones). It also includes a periodic check of the wiki site to see if a newer version has been posted, so you will receive a popup message when an update is posted.
Also, in this version I have rewritten the way the list of pending shows is managed by the commongbpvrutilities.dll library to use less memory. The changes are not backwards compatible, so if you use the showsearch plug-in you'll need an update to it as well. A new version of show search is included with this test release.
If I understand things correctly the default volume is always set to maximum. Would it be possible to have a somewhat lower default like 80 or 90% of maximum?
I am using an external drive for my recorded shows as its faster and has more capacity. However sometimes when I look in "recordings" for shows they are not there, this is probably because i sometimes use my Pinnacle diversity stick plugged into my laptop but forget/don't bother to plug in the external drive, after which the recordings don't show. So please is there a way to refresh the recordings so that they all show again after I have my external drive pugged in. Many thanks
Does anyone know if the recently shipping pvr150 versions 1042 and 1045 are identical with regards to the tuner section ? I'm trying to understand if there is a difference between the cards besides the obvious remote and fm tuner.
While I realize that this could get subjective/objective answers I thougt instead of asking if this is ok ? or are there better ones ? etc... I'd like to simply ask if this card would suffice for a SDTV output. I am not going to HD or digital in the next year or so. I am currently using the 6150 on mb video out. My objective is to offload the processing from the CPU and also to possibly have a better, more compatible video out for my gbpvr.
I have problem with HDTV. I can watch live tv with almost ok performance only minor stutter, but that can be due to my equipment. AMD 64 3000+ with onboard 6150 graphics.
However when I try to view a recorded program the result is very bad. The display is corrupt and I can barely see what it is showing.
I another thread you mentionend that HDTVPump should be used, however when using that nothing shows and if I try to render the recording in graphedit it fails due to error in HDTVPump.
Enclosed is a log from viewing both livetv and a recorded show.

Oscar
Convert your HD! dvr-ms and mpg into dvd compatible files using the avivo codecs with the atixcode.exe cmdline encoder..
If you have a modern ATI video card you already have it, comes with catalyst drivers..
other video card users can install the old avivo package, works with any video card..
Help from the executable:
Quote: Usage: AtiXcode.exe args
/Rn read argments from registry(/S0 = off, /S1=on, default is on.
All previously read values will be over written.
/Sn file scan (/S0 = off, /S1=on, default is on)
/Xn transcode from database (/X0 = off, /X1=on, default is on)
/Fxxx folder to scan OR source file name (def = MCE's folder from registry)
/An Automatically generate output file name. Used with /F. /F specifies an output folder.(/A0=off,/A1=on)
/Dxxx Destination folder OR destination filename(def = Source Folder/ATIXCode)
/Tnnn Transcoder time limit in minutes (/T0=no limit)
to use in video library, copy the atixcode.exe to the gbpvr\third party\ dir and here's a sample customffmpegconfig line:
[atixcode.exe file usually in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\]
which will convert any file you input[anything that can be read by Dshow filters] to svcd[480x480] for MVP input or just storage..
just change the /v4 to /v5 for dvd compliant files, /v6 for divx-avi, etc.
adjust the extension[.ati.mpg part] accordingly to your desired output file type.. note the psp and ipod and divx-avi output types!
the fastest encoder out there, better than realtime on most systems..
cons: only 3 quality levels, run the avivoxcode.exe to see the bitrates..
lowest [/q1] quality for dvd is 4000k and highest for sdvd is 3000k.
