I have found that when using a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD, and recording with just the second available DVBT tuner in TV Scheduler Pro, that NextPVR complains that it cannot find an available tuner to play Live TV when the tuner order in NextPVR setup is first then second tuner i.e. the same as in TV Scheduler Pro.
Not a complaint, and hardly an issue worthy of anybody's time trying to fix as these are two completely different applications competing for the same tuner resources. I just note it as something others might run across.
I'm attempting to watch an in-progress recording via the web UI and am having a few problems.
First, every 5 minutes or so the playback just freezes. The UI indicates that the video is paused. When I click the play button, it resumes but backs up about 2.5 minutes. I can skip forward and things work fine for a few more minutes, until it happens again.
The second issue I see seemingly has to do with how playback is handled once it reaches the end of the scheduled program time (as compared to reaching the end of the _recording_ time). I'm watching an NFL game and I set it to record an extra 60 minutes because these games are known to go long. I was able to watch much of the game (minus the issues described above) but when playback reached the point where the guide says the game should be over, it just stops. The UI indicates that recording is still happening, but I just can't make any progress beyond the guide's scheduled end time.
I noticed today that only 3 recordings were pending, 2 movies and one of the NFL playoff games. Normally the pending list is very long. I modified my NFL recurring so the games are now scheduled. However, none of my regular series are scheduled. I have not idea what happened.
I am using a fresh install of Arch Linux with current version of nextpvr.
Came home from work only to discover that I can now only get local channels. After troubleshooting and digging into things, I discovered Cox made a change and the majority of the channels that I get from them are now labeled "DRM".
Before I pull the plug on Cox and switch to another service, I have to ask; Can NPVR do DRM? I'll be really unhappy if I have to drop NPVR and switch to a streaming service, but this is something that I may have to do.

I recently installed npvr 5 on a fresh install of ubuntu server 18.04. Everything works beautifully except for channel 10.1-10.5. Linux recognizes the channels via the tuners and NPVR 5 recognizes the channels in the setup and guides. My problem is that when I try to play back the channel it does not work and a transcoder failure (all other channels work). The logs appear to indicate that it is waiting for data but it is not delivered. Is there a way to change the radio frequency or channel or the way it communicates with the tuner?
If there are other logs, please let me know where they reside so I can retrieve them and post.
Basically most recordings fail after a few minutes for me currently (I can't remember if I actually received a full recording yet since I have been messing with Emby and Jellyfin too).
My testing over the past few days though has been entirely NextPVR though and at least 4 recordings failed, but NextPVR shows as "recording" even when the recording has stopped (network traffic ceases).
I understand there are a million reasons why the stream could be stalled etc... but it would be great if NextPVR continued to try and restart the recording.
VLC is able to play the stream directly so it isn't that the stream is no longer available, but that for some reason NextPVR had an issue and then just gave up. e.g. a program set to record from 1:00pm to 2:00pm fails at, say, 1:15 but playing with VLC at 1:20pm is fine.
I don't know yet if Emby and Jellyfin have the same issue yet (I think yes to some degree since that is why I switched to NextPVR in the first place) but I don't know if it is to the same degree as I am currently seeing with NextPVR.
Basically, it would be nice if NextPVR keeps trying to record the stream during the programmed period when it fails for whatever reason. My preference would be to merge the recorded fragments into a single file if possible so that only one file gets created but understand that that might cause (other) playback issues.
