I recorded three shows at the same time.
I have a new Hauppauge PVR-500 and an MSI Theater PRO 550.
Both times I recorded the three shows it was channel 10 that had the bad recording.
The first was a recording of "The Office" at 8:30pm on 4/12.
The second was a recording of "Jay Lenno" at 11:30pm on 4/12.
I was wondering if I could get help finding out if the same tuner made the poor recording or if it was different turners.
I just added the PVR-500. I had it recording two shows at a time without the Pro 550 configured. And I had the Pro 550 working fine before I added the PVR-500.
I am going to see if it has anything to do with my splitter. Although every time I tried to test out 3 recordings at a time for short periods of time all three recordings looked fine.
I'm using the latest Community Skin and a Hauppauge 45 button remote with my PVR-350 to TV via the TV-Out.
How do I get a 'volume' bar to display on the TV screen?
When I press the right/left nav arrow on the remote it changes the volume but there is no bar??
I'm running GBPVR 99.12, and using direct Zap2It EPG updates.
Zap2It recently had problems with their DataDirect feed not being up-to-date, with the result that many timeslots in my GBPVR TV Guide showed as "To Be Announced" even when the programming was shown in Zap2It's web listings.
Zap2It has been fixing at least some of these problems, but GBPVR doesn't (always?) seem to be updating its internal TV Guide to match. For example, for Apr 14, 9pm PDT, ch.19 Zap2It.xml has the correct programming:
but my TV Guide still shows this slot as "To Be Announced".
How can I force GBPVR to update existing timeslots, without emptying my EPG data (and so losing all my scheduled recordings, according to the warning GBPVR gives)?
Thanks. I've attached my zipped logs dir, also including today's Zap2It.xml
My system seems to have developed a strage problem. I can start gbpvr and go into live tv or a recorded program and watch fine with no problems at all.
However when I exit the tv or video and try to put something else on, or even the same thing i was previously watching, play back is just a black sreen, sound only! If I restart gbpvr then its fine again for the first view, blank screen the second!
Hello everyone,
I'm building my first htpc using GB-PVR 99.12 including the following parts;
Asus P5W DH Deluxe, C2D 6400, 2 Gig Kingston RAM, 2 x Blackgold dual BDA version tuner cards, Nvidea Quadro 540, Xcard (Sub, can you remember these?) + SDI output card.
I have had all the hardware installed and loaded all drivers OK.
Only software installed are Windows XP Pro, .Net 2, GB-PVR, PowerDVD Ultra, Nero 7.
Whenever I go to either watch live TV or view a recorded TV programme the system crashes and reboots. The EPG guide works OK and I can set recordings, and these appear in the recordings section, but I just can't play them!
The system plays DVD's and files from the Video library (ripped DVD's) fine (after changing the quartz.dll) via both the graphics card and Xcard.
The tuner cards were not listed in the BDA.ini so I used graphedit and found the filters, changed the BDA.ini file. Once this was done the card (removed one now) was recognised and searched for channels, loads found.
No pluggins are loaded.
At the minute I have the EPG set as DVB since I haven't got the pc networked onto the web yet.
I'm sure it could be something simple, I just don't know what.
As a side issue, I was steered to the Xcard & GB-PVR because I wanted SDI out for my video processor (DVDO HD+) but searching due to this problem I've come across comments saying that the Xcard outputs the wrong polarity for the HD+. Does anyone know of another SDI output arrangement for a PC?
I'm sitting in a hotel room in Dallas wanting to transcode a file so I can download it a little quicker over the 802.11b in the hotel.
Shoot, no transcode option that I can find. Please add it to the wishlist.
I was able to setup and switch channels easily using the Paterson Technology "USB TV Translator" and Cheval's "DirecTV Channel Control" plugin on a DirecTV HD H20-600 receiver. [PC-serial] / [DSS H20-600 - USB interface]
The cable hardware is programmable and offers what it calls HD director. The cable handles routing channel 5 from the standard DSS programming to an off air HD channel 5 invisibly.
Setup was akward at first but the results are far superior to my USB-UIRT channel control.
Compatible with D11-100, D11-300, D11-500, D11-800, H20-100, H20-600, and D12-300 receivers
I am getting all sounds (Live TV, Net Radio and Recorded Video) through the desktop speakers.
When I use PVR-350 TV-Out I get sound for Live TV and Recorded Videos but not for playing Music or Net Radio.
Any ideas???
How do you adjust the volume using the 45 button Silver Hauppauge remote?
