One of the things that has always bugged me about GB-PVR is that it just kicked you out to main menu when a recording starts if you're watching live TV. I decided I'd try to write a plug in that would at least give you warning, and hopefully give you the option of either recording it, or say no don't record it. Has anyone done anything like this in a plug in? Does it seem like it's possible?
Today I only have only 2 channels filled with TV program info, instead of 31.
I am using the TVGids_to_xml grabber version 1.23.0 build 77 which is
the latest I think.
It has hardware encoding and all that. My only concern is that I want to be able to use the IR blaster from my PVR 150 to change channels on the 274. Will these two cards "play nice" with one another, or am I better off just getting another PVR 150?
Instead of a main menu, it would be a neat option to get more of a "console" look, showing a variety of information (perhaps even configurable). For instance, you could have a gbpvr logo, a scrollable menu on the left, a small sampling of recently recorded programs, the amount of free disk space, the current time and date, the next program scheduled to be recorded, next conflict, and maybe even some options for integrating information from plugins into the console. This could let you accomplish some more common functions directly from the main menu.
From what I've been able to piece together from the forum posts here, it sounds like the "dont record duplicates" option works by skipping reocurring programs if that episode has ever been recorded before.
There are two basic reasons I can think of that people would use the "Season Pass" type options (recording all, skipping duplicates, and keeping a certain number):
1) If they want to record an entire season to watch, archive, or burn.
2) If they want to keep a certain number of recent shows available to watch on demand. For instance, I like to keep 5 different copies of "Curious George" for my son. I want the selection to change regularly. I don't care if I get old ones again, but I don't want duplicates within the 5. With the current logic (if I understand things right), eventually it'll have previously recorded everything and the selection will stop changing.
I have a couple problems with the current options:
1) If I have a problem with a recording (it didn't record the whole thing, it was interrupted or delayed due to breaking news, weather, a ball game that ran late, etc.) I don't think there's a way to re-record it without manually finding it. Perhaps when we try to delete a program that is set up for reoccuring recordings, you should give an option of re-recording the show if/when it comes up again?
2) If I'm understanding how the skip duplicate logic works right, there's no easy way to do the second way of keeping a certain number of unique recent recordings. If you added an option to reoccurring programs where you could define how long to keep a record of deleted episodes, that would let you do things both ways. Set it to "never delete" (which could be the default) to replicate the current feature. Set it to something like "6 months" or "1 year" to allow episodes to be recorded again after that amount of time.
Iâm using v99.12 with a Twinhan 102G in the US. My setup is working flawlessly in MyMtheare. However, when I scan transponders (lastest INI from Joshyfun) I get ~40 unique channels duplicated several times. My LOF settings are the same as MT, LOF1=9750, SW=11700, LOF2=11250. Iâve tried the âignore PMT errors during scanâ tick suggestion. But no change during the scan. Thank you for your help.
After using ComproDVD2 to watch a burnt DVD, I went to watch GBPVR live TV and then SLAP! Sound and NO picture.
I checked the GB config only to discover that it had reverted to system default for video and audio. I then tried to select the Nvidia decoder that I'd been using before but it was GONE. It was either system or Nero and I know Nero dosen't work.
I ran graphedt and discovered that I was now using Ulead mpeg decoder which works with ComproDVD. It overode my AC3 filter as well.
I uninstalled ComproDVD(now I can't watch burnt DVD's, didn't know GBPVR won't play them) but it's made no difference. It's still using the Ulead decoder.
How can I tell Ulead to shoo and bring Nvidia back? This coming after I spent SEVERAL DAYS ALREADY getting the sound to play nice
