  Multiple drive support
Posted by: pwtenny - 2007-03-30, 04:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Is there any possibility of getting multi-drive support into GB-PVR? Something as simple as supporting more than one directory for storing recordings? I've recently put a 160GB drive in my DVR and now the 80GB drive it is booting from is completely empty and mostly useless.

Based on what I've found, you have to setup hard drives in XP when you install the OS in order to "stripe" them, or whatever you call it when the OS treats two drives as one.

That's not much of a fun option since this new drive is SATA on a PCI-SATA controller. That means floppy drivers and a clean OS install.

It'd be much easier to get it done at the application level :o

  Inset in video playback mode
Posted by: HTPCGB - 2007-03-30, 12:55 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

This is for the more knowledgable skinners out there.

Is there anything that can be added to live-skin.xml in order to resize the playing video to a specific length and width. I want to be able to bring up the mini-guide and minimize the the video to a corner as is done on Scientific-Atlanta STB's.

Thanks in advance,
HTPCGB

Posted by: beermanmc - 2007-03-30, 12:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

For some reason the show times in GBPVR are coming up 1 hour early. I am using zap2it and that works with my zip code so it has the right time zone. My computer time is set to pacific so thats correct..any ideas?

For example on CBS shark is showinmg at 9:00 when it airs at 10 here

  Audio glitching on some channels
Posted by: tiger66 - 2007-03-30, 12:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Hi all,

I have an issue with a couple (not many, but important) of lower channels
(6 and 10) where the audio on live TV and on recordings stutters or glitches
quite a bit. There's no real pattern to it; it seems to be random and happens
every few seconds or so. Some times are better than others and some are
worse. I have changed the "BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording" setting
to "0" to disable the signal status checking, but it didn't make a difference.
I have changed the "ForceHighPriorityRecordingService" setting to "true", but
it didn't make a difference. Only the channels mentioned seem to exhibit the
problem, leading me to believe there's something "off" perhaps about the
tuning or signal on those channels?? I have diligently searched the logs
(which were generated with "debug" logging level set), but have seen no
errors. I can post them, however, if anyone would like to see them. If it
could possibly be a tuning issue, can someone direct me to a thread that
discusses the best approach for manually adjusting the channel frequencies?
I have read over a few, but I'm not sure which is the best course.

BTW, I'm running v0.99.5.

Thanks in advance,
Tiger66

  EPG not correct time/show sync
Posted by: mattyboy - 2007-03-30, 12:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi folks,

I have a ATI (sapphire) 550 Pro threatrix card, and I use Zap2it for my GBPVR guide. In Canada, Ontario, specifically. Anyhow, the guide is off, I believe its 1 hour. Its like it has not adjusted for daylight savings time, or something of that nature. For instance, if I set the Windows XP clock BACK 1 hour, then start GBPVR and the EPG (guide), its all in sync; the correct time is listed above what programs are actually on at that time.
Ive tried re-installing GBPVR, changing my timeslot on the Zap2it website then updating the EPG, all of these things didnt help.
Has anyone had the same issue? And do you have a solution?
Thanks guys!
M

PS Just so Im being clear, and not confusing the situation, the EPG highlights a show for the current time, but its not the correct tv show that its hightlighting. It confused me at first, thats all.

Client use with HD over wirelss, Anyone?
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2007-03-29, 10:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I am wondering if anyone is able to use GB-PVR client to watch LiveTV HD material (720p and 1080i) over a wireless network. I am successful in using it with a 100 MB direct connection with my laptop, but even with that I get hickups during playback. My laptop has similar specs as my server below, and I am using Cyberlink mux to playback HD mpg files from the server.

I am considering adding a TV and PVR system to my bedroom, but only if I can manage to get the client to work through my wireless network. I am using 54 G Netgear router. Standard def material and AVI movies work fine BTW.
