I would appreciate some advice on my system. I have been using an mvp which I have been quite happy with, but would now like to try using the computer tv out, however live tv and video playback both stutter briefly every 3 seconds or so. Here is my system, sempron 2200+, ati x700, 512mb ram, pvr150, could it possibly be a driver problem?
I use TVXB and have been for some time.
Recently I thought I'd have a go at making the parsing a little better, so that rather than title + description I'd get title, subtitle and description. It mostly works OK but I saw an oddity I couldn't fathom:
Why would it add a description equivalent to the subtitle when there is no description field? Is there a default behaviour at work here or is TVXB (or me) doing something wrong?
[FONT="]I have dropped this hint before, but thought I might give it another little push.
For those who don't know http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/ has an area of 'interestingness' where you get a random array of recent 'interesting' photos. I believe you can get feeds of these photos through a little code. (example below)
I think it would be a really cool option to have the screensaver (internal or plugin) show a random photo show of cool photos of random stuff. (also while playing music)
Outside my programming, ability but someone might be looking for a project.
<SCRIPT language="JavaScript1.2">
var refreshInterval9 = null
var idphoto9 = null
var owner9 = null
var secret9 = null
var server9 = null
var title9 = null
var iconserver9 = null
var nsid9 = null
var name9 = null
var photoLoaded9 = 0
var timer9 = 0
var prefs9 = new _IG_Prefs(9)
function refreshOwner9(responseText)
{
var xmlObject = createXMLDocument(responseText)
var rsp = xmlObject.getElementsByTagName('rsp')
if (rsp[0].getAttribute('stat') == 'ok') {
var person = xmlObject.getElementsByTagName('person')
iconserver9 = person[0].getAttribute('iconserver')
nsid9 = person[0].getAttribute('nsid')
I think I have mentioned it on another thread - if Live TV is running, my System screen shows nothing, but works the moment I stop LiveTV. Works fine also during Video watching.
As much as I remember, there was a feature in previous versions, that the aspect mode ("Auto", "Remove letterbox", etc.) is "remembered" per mode (i.e. one for LiveTV, one for Videos, etc.
So, if it did before - it doesn't anymore.
If it never did - i'll put it in the wishlist?
GPVR won't let me view the tv guide because the EPG is not updated. The channels are all populated and when I try to manually update the EPG from the icon in the taskbar it freezes. When I manually update from the config it sits for about 20 min without doing anything.
Is it possible to specify the use of eth1 for emulation mode in the alpha dongle? I can see in telnet that mvpmc is trying to connect on eth0 (wired), but I use the wireless interface. I tried the nightly build, but it never connects to gbpvr for some reason.
When I play back a media file (divx, avi, rm, or other media) the Media MVP will display a black screen then bring me back to the main GBPVR menu. I'm using a plain install of GBPVR.
I also noticed that when I playback video it does not display the whole video length at the top of the screen it might say 2 seconds into the vide0 out of 3 minutes, when the video is 30 or 60 minutes long.
The videos play fine through the GBPVR interface on my PC, and in the appropriate media player.
My system crashed and I had to rebuild it from scratch, prior to this I didn't have any of the problems I'm having now.
I'm going to attempt to install the Hauppauge software and see if it acts the same way.
In the mean time I've attached all the log files I can find, if you need anything else I'll check back later.
