  Newbie - Hello
Posted by: Dillegm - 2007-03-27, 02:43 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hello, Just wanted to say thanks for making a great PVR (free) that stacks up to the likes of Beyond TV.

I have a Leadtek WinFast tv2000xp RM.
It claimed to come with a decent PVR when I bought it, but the software it came with is for the birds. Very cheap and poorly written.

I love gbpvr, but It doesn't support my hardware. Leadtech did make Vista Drivers, but It doesn't even work with VMC or BTV. I thought about building a linux box to run Myth TV, but I would so much rather have a windows based system.

Any chance you will support this card in the future?
If there is anything I can do to help, I would be pleased.

Thanks again,

Dillegm.

  Schedule a reminder from search

In the search screen (and also in the SearchWiz that I am starting to use), one can schedule a recording. But I would sometimes like to use those searches to just set a reminder on a show.

sub, anything in the works for HD DVD playback within GB-PVR?

  Client Server question
Posted by: madcat - 2007-03-27, 12:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

What is the designed behavior WRT "fighting" over tuners between client/server?

Assume single tuner available at the server, and scenarios:
1) Server watches live TV, client connets and tries to watch something else?
2) Server is recording, client connects and tries to change channels?
3) Cleint is watchin TV, from the server, the user selects live TV and changes channels?

What is the result in each?

Thanks

  Minor subtitles bug
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2007-03-27, 12:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I noticed that italic srt subtitles only work if they are on one line. If the subtitle spans two lines, the italic tags are shown and text is not italic

Dual ATI Theater 550 - Help
Posted by: cdogg77 - 2007-03-27, 12:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have 2 ATI theater 550 based cards installed (ATI TV Wonder Elite and VisionTek ATI 550). For some reason recording 2 shows at the same time does not work. Any ideas??

They setup is as follows:

Theater550-1 Direct Recording plugin Zap2it
Theater550-2 Direct Recording Plugin Zap2it

For some reason it will create the folders in my main folder directory with the appropriate show name, but it will only start creating the mpeg file in 1 of the 2 folders.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  TVxb and multiple xmlfiles?
Posted by: RTR - 2007-03-26, 10:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi
I have just got a hybridtunercard (hvr 4000) and want to add it to the pvr that has one pvr150 and one pvr500 card already.
At present I have 3 different grabbers (xmltv , O2grabber and TVxb) creating 3 xmlfiles.
#1 (xmltv) is the source for 3 tuners and contains the majority of channels avalible in analog cable.
#2 (O2grabber) is also source for 3 tuners and contains the rest of the channels on the analog cable.
#3 (TVxb) is the source for svideo in that is conected to my dreambox (dvbs)

TVxb is the one that can get all of the channels avalible, so my goal is to use just one grabber,
but as I know it GBpvr needs one xml file for each added tuner. (right?)

Is there a way to have TVxb output a file for a given set of channels in the ini.file
I have tried to just a xmltvoutput= on a channel definition level with no luck

Anyone with great idea
RTR

  MDB not SQL
Posted by: Amused - 2007-03-26, 10:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Sub
Is there still support for MDB within GBPVR? I'm trying to link Digiguide to GBPVR using a plugin (for digiguide) called DABDig by Paul Webster.

Digiguide is a prog I've used for years now and I find it 100x easier to use that the build in EPG (or any EPG that ties to video capture software for that mater). The interface seems to clunky, searching for programmes is awkward when compare to Digiguide.
Basically I want Digiguide to setup a marker to record all the weekly recording series, the one offs, any Film directed by Kubrick, anything I want and then have it call GBPVR just before the show is set to start and record it for me. DABDig does exactly that. Only trouble is that to work the plugin accesses GBPVR channel information stored in a MDB file, not SQL, so is there anyway I can configure GBPVR to use MDB instead?

  bandwidth needed?

Can anyone tell me the max network speed I'd need to stream live TV and recorded TV from a GBPVR server, to a client PC, for 1. SD and 2. HD?

Thanks for your help.

  Playing in HD best way?
Posted by: JJenson - 2007-03-26, 09:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I was curios I just bought a Sony 55" WEGA TV and got HD programming through a HD box I would like to run this trough my system to my TV and get the recorded HD if possible?

My systems is this I have Nvidia 6800 PLays in HD
I have a DVI to HDMI from computer to TV
I have a Hauppauge PVR-500

I am not sure what I need to do to go from the HD cable box to the computer to the TV? or do I not need the HD cable box at all?

I really am not sure which way to go

Thanks All
Jeff
