As usual, no marked change in working config,but recent recordings fail and give a 0kb file size. All appears to be working ok, GBPVR status, file opened, but nothing else.
Seemed to be related more to repeat recordings but now seems to be any, if not all! No hard or fast rule.
I just about lost a hard drive today. I decided the risk is too great and I need to get a motherboard that supports hardware RAID.
I already have 4 PVR150 cards so the board needs to have a minimum of 4 PCI slots.
I would prefer onboard video as this is just a server that sits in the closet.
I was looking at the MSI 945P Neo3-F but am unsure as to whether it has onboard hardware raid.
The MSI 945P Neo3-F does not have onboard video
I prefer to go with socket 775.
Does anyone use a board that they can recommend to suit my needs?
I was wondering how hard it would be to separate out the "capture part" of GPBVR to create a "network capture" PC that simply takes in "tune this channel and strem to this PC" information.
Would allow multiple customized GBPVR's to use the same "network based" capture device.
I would envision it working a little bit like the HDHomerun device does, where a low end PC simply does the capture and streaming and a one (or more) higher end PC's handle the display, database, and scheduling functions.
Thanks for the great product, GBPVR is by far the easiest and most full featured PVR out there.
Recently I've noticed either a dropped frame or a freeze frame about every 5 seconds watching video, tv etc on the PC running the gbpvr server. This is most noticable on 'tickertape' at the bottom of news channels. I've spent the last few days trying out various different codecs, mux's, video drivers, killing of resident processes etc etc.
Then it went away for no reason - then it came back. Then I realised it only did it when the MVP was sat idle at the main menu. When the MVP was off or playing something it was fine, but sat at the main menu, hiccups - and I noticed it was when the 'recording soon' was being updated.
I've run filemon and etherreal and there doesn't seem to be huge activity when this update happens.
Watching the same MPG file with VLC doesn't have the hiccups.
Any thoughts - or is there an entry in config.xml that stops the 'recording soon' as a tempy fix - I couldn't see anything in there, but was getting word-blind.
I've included a rough screenshot of the TV Guide screen in IE as an attachment. There's a big red arrow at the bottom of the image to indicate the scrollbar size and position.
From the scrollbar's position you can see that the page is much wider than the window. Can the page width be constrained to say, the window width?
I have a VIA AC'97 integrated sound card in my pc. When I play divx files the speech sound is very low. I think there is something with the codec. Or is there anything do with ac3 sound? And I have the same problem with DVD-s I changed the codec-s in the config but nothing happend. Hope somebody got the answere. Thx.
On the analog side, I almost have this working but there is one set of pins that I cannot get to connect. They are circled in blue in the attached pic. If I start live tv, switch to graphedit and connect to the remote graph, connect the pins and hit "play", I can switch back to GB-PVR every thing works. I'm sure I'm just missing a setting somewhere but I'm at a loss.

I've been doing some testing & tuning on my MVP setup, and seem to have found a combination that works.
1. Dongle 11520.bin
2. Vista Firewall disabled
3. Hauppauge TCP Optimisations
"TcpWindowSize"=dword:000f4240
"Tcp1323Opts"=dword:00000001
4. GBPVR 99.12 (need to fix my sig!)
I did need to pull the MVP power plug to get the dongle to take. The dongle alone got the MVP working beyond a few keypresses, and the TCP optimisations seems to have gotten video streaming properly.
I'll do some more testing and let you know what else I can find.
sub, I'm not sure if this is an HDHomeRun issue, a GB-PVR issue or a Vista issue, but when I run a scan with GB-PVR on the HDHomeRun, it seems to be using the cable frequencies (I'm guessing the new DigitalCable tuning space). Channels 1-13 are fine but once the scan hits channel 14, the HDHomeRun logs show that the requested frequency is 123Mhz instead of the expected 473Mhz.
I will try to install another ATSC card to see if it does the same thing but I figured I'd check to see if you had any ideas as to why/where this is happening.
I've found a few programs that catalog DVD's , but nothing that was worth a look see...
My problem is this: I have a lot of DVDs .... I mean a LOT! and sorting them out is starting to be a problem. I would love to have everything as an ISO on my file server, but the storage would be so expensive I might as well buy a new car... So I was thinking that it would be nice to have a database of movies that I could search from within GBPVR. Nothing elaborate, just a simple list of movies, by alphabet or genre. You scroll around the list, find something you like, then click on it and it says that the DVD is on shelf 12 row 5 space 12 . Simple. As a bonus it would be nice to be able to load (manually enter, over the internet would needlessly complicate things) the film info from IMDB, just kind of copy and past, and have it show up next to the title.
Oh, and is there anyway anyone knows of to map the photos to a iPhoto library?
