Hi
I went to watch live TV today and I get no picture and stuttery sound, I thought it may be the signal strengh or quality but I checked using CTRL O and its fine.
I have tried playing old recordings and they playback fine.
I have a quick question if anyone has experiance this. I have an external DVD player I have hooked up to my computer. Well I goto the DVD and it picks up the DVD and plays it.
This is the problem though it cuts up the video and makes it pretty much unviewable. The sound is choppy as well.
When I play a dvd off this player through like windows media player or quicktime or anything else like that works great. I am not sure why it is not working with GBPVR anyone had this happen or know what could cause this?
Not sure if you folks have ever run across this site, http://www.archive.org. It is a site that houses open source content (ie films, audio, books, text,....) Kind of an internet library.
The Internet Archive is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.
Definitely worth checking out. Lots of old movies, propaganda films, cartoons, animation, etc... that can be downloaded and watched locally.
Hi,
First a thumps up for GBPVR, although I had a rough start...
I have a Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro Card 310c which is not initially supported. But and thanks to the instructions in the Hardware/Add Capture Card Section of the GBPVR wiki I was encouraged to try to set up the Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro Card 310c myself. OK for me it was not easy (Computers hate me) and I had to fiddle around to get it running but I managed
So for those who would like to use a Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro Card 310c with GBPVR here is what you have to put in your BDA.ini
[Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro Card 310c]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=DVB-T Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=DVB-T Digital TV Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
And it works! At least for me..
But (yes as always there is a but) if I try to watch TV the picture shows an ugly vertical greenish bar right in the middle. Definately an extremly low WAF
Does any one now what to do to improve the picture quality?
Hi, another newbie with a question.
Configuration is WinXP, HVR1600, video card requires Overlay with WinTV2000 and I only have ATSC for a video stream.
WinTV2000 works as well as can be expected in Overlay I suppose. I've tried to read as many of the forum messages as possible to get gbpvr going. I've configured the HVR1600 with BDA pluggin, scanned zap2it for channels and attempted to map the digital channels to the EPG channels. The first time I started to scan, I was optimistic because I did see video in the preview screen of the scanning window. When I came back, the video had stopped. I assigned the channels to the EPG channels. When trying to bring up Live TV, the screen is always black. I've come back to mapping the channels again. It continues to find the channels, but if any are selected, the preview screen is black.
GBPVR can play videos recorded with WinTV2000 w/o a problem. Logs are attached. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

I've been using the GB-PVR with an PVR-150 and MediaMVP for a few weeks and have been really impressed. Things work very smooth and polished.
I just added an HVR-1600 (HD capture), and have it mostly working. All the analog capture and playback is working fine, and HD recording and playback on the PC seem to work OK (after a lot of trial and error with decoders and rendering).
The problem I have is I still can't play HD recordings on my MVP. The program is listed, but when I select the program, the TV screen goes black and sometimes resets the MVP.
I've tried playing the Z Process with no luck. Looking at the trans2MVP.exe-native.log file, I get:

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thanks!
Looks like a pretty nice board. An x1250 on board, built in DVI-D and HDMI... looks pretty nice! Header for TV-outs, reminds me a lot of my board actually.
Anyone have any experience with Sapphire stuff? I am interested to see what pricing will be like, did a quick search and didn't find any one selling it yet.
