I know this has been explained multiple times, I just can't seem to put my hand on a thread for those of us that understand about 10% of what is being discussed in this forum. I have no problems with recording and playing from one gbpvr machine on a MVP. I have no problems getting to photo files and music. I also don't have any problems getting to my home movies (which is what the wife wants me to get working) the problem is that the stream is jittery. Is there a step by step how to that will help me get this cleaned up? I have the videos on a pc that isn't my gbprv machine but it doesn't seem to make any difference if I move a movie file to the other machine. It plays the same., jittery. Can someone point me to an understandable fix? thanks in advance.
I was wondering if someone could explain how two capture (tv tuner) cards work and whether it's difficult to configure. I wasn't originally thinking of using such a system and it's not a necessity but I was curious. It would also cost more but I already have most of my hardware if I use my current computer.
I was thinking of getting a Hauppauge HVR 1600 but I'm not sure which the 2nd card would be. I would like the option of recording one program and being able to watch another channel (perhaps, record on that one as well?). I'd be able to do this, correct? I believe I need two PCI slots or a card that works as a dual tuner? If I have two cards, is this a major task to get it to work?
I assume it matters what the digital set top box I use? Since, I want a HVR 1600, it would be best if I could use a HD box but it's not essential, is it? I could use an analog card as the 2nd card but I could only record SD channels? If anyone could explain how it all works or give their experience of using a dual card system, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I have an ATI X300SE video card so could that handle two capture cards or is it best to buy a higher grade video card? If so, which ATI or Nvidia can handle it?
Hi sub, is it possible to change the program name of the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server to something that doesn't start with GB-PVR? It's just that I have assigned the green power button on my remote to start GB-PVR, or bring it to the foreground if it has already been started, but this doesn't work if the MediaMVP server is running - foregrounding a program starting with "GB-PVR" of course brings the black server window to the foreground rather than the main program one.
I'm not sure of an alternative name, although even changing it to "GBPVR MediaMVP Server" would do the trick. Alternatively, does anyone have a suggestion which would help me avoid this problem?
I just bought a cheap TV Tuner card, it is a generic Conexant Blackbird. It works fine with the included aplication, but it is a piece of crap so I set out to look for something better and found GB-PVR. I can't set it up.... I have set up my source, but I can't watch Live TV because EPG won't update. I signed up for a Zap2it account using the certificate code GBPVR told me to use. Then I put in my username and password into GBPVR's settings. However, when I tell it to go Update EPG, it says it's updating then a window pops uo saying:
Your EPG Source Does Not Appear to be configured correctly. Please check EPG source settings and try again.
Then it says a bunch of gibberish saying (500) Internal Server Error, then what looks like a server error log. Are Zap2it's servers down, or is something wrong on my end?
I'm having some difficulty with the aspect ratio of the picture I get. Here is the scenario. There are 2 channels: channel A is an SD channel broadcast at 4:3, channel B is an HD channel broadcast in HD at 16:9
When I set the GB-PVR aspect ratio control to Widescren (16x9) then channel A looks terrible (the picture only occupys about 3/4 of the screen horizontally and 7/8 vertically and has garbage where the picture is not) and channel B looks great.
When I set the GB-PVR aspect ratio control to Standard (4x3) then channel A looks great and channel B looks terrible (very narrow band occupying only the top 1/2 of the window).
How can I configure GB-PVR such that it will look good independent of the source?
My desktop monitor is 1440x 900. I am running GB-PVR windowed (though the same issue occurs when I maximize it to full-screen). I have also set my monitor to other standard dimensions (i.e. 1024x768 etc) and this does not change anything.
Now i have test and use all thing and diferent setup !
have use a lot moore than 200 hours and the only sensible i can understand
is that the last card you should buy is the 150mce.
i have test it in 3 diferent computors all 3000mz one intel chipset
one via and one nvidia and both with 1 or 2 card setup and in gbpvr
wintv 2000 and my recorded file is always always the same shit that i cant
convert to divx in 2-pass .
but when i plugged in my pvr 350 the recording qality is at least 100%
better or moor maby 200% too.
the chipset the 150mce use is Conexant CX23416 and that is a lowbuget
chip they produse after Conexant CX23415 that pvr250 and pvr350 used
and another thing is that the 150mce isent maked to deliver a mpeg or a
mpg movie file, they use a format they call (DVR-ms) and that is a mirosoft
protected format.
i have sent a question to divx to see if they can analyse a file that i have recorded and see what´s wrong in it.
Is there any way you can get the delete button active in the video info popup for DVDs in the Video Archive plugin. I dont really have any DVDs but rather avi's and I would like to be able to delete movies directly from the plugin. For recordings I have both a "delete" button and an "archive" button but for DVDs the only options are "play" and "cancel".
