When playing a DVD that's supposed to be widescreen, I cycle through the different aspect ratios by pressing f7. The initial screen ("auto") makes everyone look skinny and tall; all the other modes move the picture into the corner surrounded by funny colors. Below are two pictures I took:
Other relevant info:
Windows MCE 2005, Nvidia 6600 256mb VGA, PVR150 (retail), Nvidia Forceware 93.71, PureVideo 1.02-196, CyberLink PowerDVD 6.
The problem only occurs in DVD mode in GBPVR. I've tried messing with the resolution, but that wasn't it. Is something wrong with the Cyberlink Decoder? I did a search through the forums, but haven't found this issue anywhere else.
I haven't used the tv on my computer for a few days, and I seem to have lost all tv guide information. I am using the xmltv plug in. I have updated the epg via gbpvr config, but still nothing.
First let me say kudos to sub for all of his hard work on gbpvr. I am a computer scientist (glorified R&D programmer) for a living and I know what it takes to created/maintain a program suite of this size... very impressive sub!
Okay, now to the issue at hand. I just purchased this Hauppauge card yesterday and installed it last night in my Dell XPS410 (I am in the US). I have been reading a lot of boards on TV Tuners and Video Capture cards and new that the WinTV2000 app was pretty bad... but experiencing it firsthand told me I had to find something better. I am glad I found gbpvr!
I have setup the analog I have been searching and reading through this forum for hours and I believe I read that gbpvr cannot use the built-in mux for the HVR-1600 and therefor cannot record channels. Is this true?
Also, I was able to get the Capture Source setup for analog channels using "Direct Recording Plugin" and populate the channel list for my area (comcast) using Zap2It as the EPG. How do I configure the ATSC Capture Source? Do I use the same board # (Capture Device #1)? What is
BDA"?
Any help/guidance anyone can give me to setting up the ATSC digital to gbpvr would be great! I want to use this program, but I need to be able to record from analog and ATSC.
I lost all of my capture sources on my developer system. After a number of tests I found that the cause was simply the presence of GBPVRBackendCommon.dll in the Plugins directory.
1) Put GBPVRBackendCommon.dll in the Plugins directory
2) Run Config.exe and look at the "Capture Sources Tab"
=No more capture sources and you crash if you try to add any
3) Remove GBPVRBackendCommon.dll from the Plugins directory
4) Run Config.exe and look at the "Capture Sources Tab"
=The capture sources are back
This explains why I couldn't add capture sources in this post fatman_do said he could in his post. The reason that dll ended up there in the first place is stated here.
Sub wouldn't it make sense for gbpvr.exe and config.exe to ignore well known dll's like GBPVRBackendCommon.dll and GBPVRPublic.dll in the plugins directory.
I setup gbpvr and set up capture source and it detects my card when I check the check box and have used a giu app to gen xml but when I go to the main app no picture? I have a sky+ satellite box and have s-video from the box to my pc
Updates for testing purpose, typically the one I use. Not supported but as functions stabilize they are moved to the nightly.
If you like it keep it, I typically don't go backwards but let me know anyway. Also read the Changelog to see what is active.
Emulation mode changes primarily due to help on this forum. Thank you!
I am running GB-PVR V0.99.5 on Window XP professional and during playback I get lockups of the viewer. When this happens the video will pulse but the sound will continue for about 5 sec. longer then the window will become inactive and the only option I have is to kill the process from the task manager. Any ideas what is happening or do you need more info. Other then that GB-PVR work grate!
Is there any way to adjust the sound in the GBPVR video player. I can make it louder or quieter but is there any sort of equaliser so I can adjust the balance? I tested the same films with external players with and I could get them sounding nice so i know it is not my hardware. Any ideas as I want to keep using GBPVR.
