  Playback problem--sound but no picture
Posted by: never been to spain - 2007-03-08, 07:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Problem: I select a recording to play, and hit play. The audio starts, but the video does not. It remains on the page where I selected the recording. If I close GBPVR and restart, the recording plays correctly.

This occurs about 1 out of 4 times.

  A Few things
Posted by: Hishighness420 - 2007-03-08, 04:55 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I haven't seen anything like this so please point me in it's direction if it is there either by design or with plugins. But I'd like to see a system where I can tell GB PVR which recurring shows are more important to me than others.

For example, say I have Lost set up to tape (which I do) and I space out and forget it and set something else to tape in it's time slot I'd like to be able to tell GB PVR that Lost is more important to me and it should ignore the new recording.

So I set Show A as the most important show, then Show B and so on so if there are any conflicts between shows I've got recurring GBPVR will know which one I want more.

Also I'd like a warning to pop up when I set a recording telling me of any potential conflicts, instead of having to go in to the conflicts screen.

I'd like a progress bar when I set a recording. Right now it just sits there and I don't know if it's going to be frozen for 10 seconds or 2 minutes. A Progress Bar would at least show me how far along GBPVR is in setting up all the upcoming recordings.

  Scheduling forever
Posted by: gkovacsp - 2007-03-08, 03:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I used to have a scheduled recording, which switched on my computer regularly.

I've deleted this scheduled recording, but my computer still switches on at the same time. Interestingly, the time varies according to the show I used to record: If it is earlier that day, the computer switches on earlier. But nothing is recorded... (Not that I want.)

The problem is, that it switches on the computer.

Strange.

  Recording problem with 0.99.12
Posted by: petewxm - 2007-03-08, 12:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi I upgraded last night to the new version 0.99.12 but since I `ve upgraded I now get a problem recording programmes.

For example In the EPG it would show that a programme was recording and I selected that programme to play the recording while it was still recording the rest of the show, It wouldn`t play.
So I waited till the recording had ended and went to recordings and it didn`t appear there.

Thanks for any advice anyone can give

Record as MPEG or simple AVI, not DVR-MS
Posted by: Amused - 2007-03-08, 12:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi
Perhaps I'm missing something in config but is there any way to set GB-PVR to record files as an ordinary MPEG or AVI? As present all files are in Microsoft Record TV Show (DVR-MS) format. This is supposed to be "Highly compressed" but a 1 hour program I recorded last night is 2GB! It's also supposed to take a long time to convert to a different codec. If i can record as a simple MPEG then the file size won't matter 'casue I can easily convert select files to XVID for sharing across the network to my Brothers machine or whatever, and just watch and delete the rest.

  LiveTV and Rec playback probs
Posted by: Lindsay - 2007-03-08, 08:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

(GBPVR at computer using Vista).
When running up and down TV channels using the OSD TV1 won't display (but name and prog synopsis are correct). The display is the last channel visited. The capture sources are correct in config. I thought this might be a weak signal problem but it records programs from TV1 OK.

While looking at this I found I can't play a program currently being recorded (log shows errors at around 9:23pm). Sometimes it just shows a black window and other times it says there is an 'error: playing back file' message.

Build 58 Episode Search Server Error
Posted by: chris.ames - 2007-03-08, 08:29 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

I have upgraded to GBPVR 0.99.12 and then installed build 58 of EWA and I'm sure I followed the installation instructions correctly, including waiting 24 hours before retrying a search. However, I get the following server error:

  aspect ratio correction
Posted by: cosmicr - 2007-03-08, 06:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

hi. here in australia(at least) the people who program the tv shows on each network are stupid, so sometimes when a 4:3 tv show is showing they still broadcast it in 16:9 with black bars either side. thats fine - if you have a widescreen tv, but on my 4:3 box I end up getting a black border around the entire picture top, bottom and sides. I am aware f7 can change the ratio, but I have been unsuccessful in getting the outcome I want...

is there any way to automatically detect black borders and remove them while watching (not post processing).
