I loaded a new machine with Vista. Installed GBPVR v 0.99.12 and seems to run fine. I edit the config, save it, but my changes are not showing up when I run GBPVR. I am a VERY new user to this program. I have not set up a card to stream TV content yet. Any ideas on why the config does not seem to be working?
Other Observations
1. I set default directories, remove the C: entry, but the only items that show in Music, Video, etc are the items in the root C:.
2. When I click on a You Tube video link the window for the video pops up but the Downloaded never changes from 9KB.
3. When I go in to System Settings within GBPVR I do not seem to have the ability to make changes - like Photo Slilde Show Delay - when I try and change it from the default of 7 nothing happens. Only option I have for each item is to click OK or cancel but I can't change the default value.
4. Internet radio seems to work fine.
I'm building a new machine to house my GBPVR server. Put down PowerDVD 7 (because 6 wouldn't install!?!?).
Went into the GBPVR config and low and behold no Cyberlink Audio Decoder found (I think because they changed the name to "Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD7)" ) I did a little hack of my config.xml to make it show up, but I don't know if there's anything sub needs to do to make it used.
Then it seems to work a little different, there's a thread in here earlier with some registry entries for PowerDVD 6 that are specific to GBPVR ( http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...k+registry ). This doesn't seem to be the case with 7. I managed to view an XviD and a DVD in powerDVD and WMP with the dolby digital coming out of the stereo correctly, but GB would not flick over to Dolby Digital.
In the end I had to go with AC3Filter for SPDIF output...
When viewing live TV from either 'watch' in the TV guide, or from 'live TV' I get a divide by 0 attempted error on the gbpvr window but ONLY when trying to view a DVB-T tuner. The analogue PVR150 is ok.
I can do a quick record from a DVB-T channel and 'play' it from the pending list fine.
This used to work, but I can't think what I've done to bugger it up (whilst chasing blaster flakiness.
I'm getting ready to set up my GBPVR/MVP set-up for the first time and have a quick question before I begin. I've read the wiki, and some other sites I've seen seem inconsistent on a topic or two. If I was really prepared I'd actually post links to these sites, but I'm on a different computer right now (and am at work).
For the records, I'm running a p4 2.6ghz system with 768mb RAM, and will be installing a Hauppauge pvr-150. I have basic cable (i.e., no box, no digital channels).
Anyway, here are my questions (and please forgive me ignorance):
1. Is an mpeg decoder codec necessary with the MVP? I swear, I thought I read somewhere that it had a hardware decoder on it. If one is necessary, which is recommended for optimum performance?
2. Are the concerns about quartz.dll (see the sticky Support thread on disappointing mpeg decoding) also applicable to systems using an MVP?
3. I wanted to confirm that if my router has DHCP enabled that there is no reason for me to even install the mediamvp software. I do need to install the pvr-150 software right? Or is only the driver necessary?
4. I probably won't tweak my system too much, using mainly the default settings, but are there any important tips and tricks which warrant being told again? Something that really made a difference in your mvp experience.
5. I'll probably be running a direct line to my mvp from my computer with a crossover cable. The hauppauge remote can control the pvr-150 itself using the enclosed IR thingie, as well as can control the mvp right? I've read that the MVP can sometimes be slow to respond to channel changes and the like. Does using the remote to control the pvr-150, instead of relaying it through the MVP first, speed things up, or am I not understanding some aspect of this process?
6. Any last minute tips and tricks to make the quality of the output video, or livetv match as closely as possible the signal from the wall?
I was wondering if someone could point me to a guide for setting up FDSHOW for GBPVR. I have an HDTV and I'd like to setup upconverting and optimization for DVD playback and possibly other formats (DIVX). I saw someone posting results of this once but not a guide on how they did it.
