GBPVR will not start at all, no error reported
Posted by: ElectricCo - 2007-03-06, 02:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm new to the program, first installed about 3 days ago. I am using a "non-supported" card, a Sony MPEG Realtime Encoder Board in my Sony Vaio RS-430G, but upon my first installation, I added my filters to direct.ini, set everything up in Config, and it worked great. Live TV was working, recording was working, everything was fine. But then after about a couple of days, nothing would work, period. When I try to open Config.exe or GBPVR.exe, either will use about 50% of the processor and will never actually open. GBPVRTray.exe does the same when Windows starts up, until I have to kill the process. The only piece that still seems to run OK is the recording service. I don't receive any errors whatsoever, and attempting to start the application doesn't generate anything in event viewer. I have tried to uninstall, remove all traces of GBPVR from the program folder and the registry, and reinstall, and nothing changed. Unfortunately, I didn't think to keep my logs when removing everything, so the only one that's been created since the reinstall is the one I've attached. Is there some kind of conflict that's likely to cause this problem? I haven't installed or changed anything else since GBPVR was working. I'm completely at a loss. Thanks for any help.

  "Subtitles Enabled"
Posted by: madcat - 2007-03-06, 02:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

When pausing, why does it says "Subtitles Enabled" all the time? (and not "Auto" or whatever the aspect ratio is. not that I'm "requesting" it, just interesting why the one shows and not the other).

  aspect ratio and F7
Posted by: gunterhausfrau - 2007-03-06, 01:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Let's start with the apology. I'm sure this has been addressed but I can't seem to find it (but I can find lots of things similar).

In earlier (pre-99.5 maybe earlier) the aspect ratio (on my system) seemed to correctly id and adjust, so TV, letterbox, etc all looked fine, with no need for me to F7. Which was good, as the movie/TV viewing occurs downstairs and the computer is upstairs, so I am running upstairs and hitting F7 as the wife yells back up ("they are all tall and skinny" or "short and fat"). I've tried to leave it on "auto" but no joy. I was hoping that 99.12 would take care of the problem, but same behaviour.

I am using overlay manager.

Any suggestions? Can I provide more (or at least some) information to figure out what is amiss?

Thanks.

  Choose Capture Source device
Posted by: volksman - 2007-03-06, 12:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

Hey!

I was wondering how I can force the use of one of my capture sources.....I'm playing for the first time with two in my machine and I would like to test one to make sure it is working...How do I select which one to use at a given time?

The only way I can think of (haven't tested but will after I'm done posting this) is to record on one and then try to watch TV again and see if it lets me select the other.....Is this the only way?

  Watch Next
Posted by: Cahill84 - 2007-03-05, 11:54 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

It would be nice to for the guide selection to have a flip to or watch next. Instead of just recording future shows. For example, you're watching a show at 5:00 and while you're in the guide you notice you want to watch something on a different channel at 5:30. To be able to select for it to automatically switch would be a nice feature, I think.

  FusionHDTV5-USB Gold problem
Posted by: engelwolf - 2007-03-05, 11:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi everyone, I hope some one will be able to help me, I just bought a DViCO FusionHDTV5-USB Gold tuner, GBPVR detects the card, I can update my local EPV without problems, but when I scan for channels to map, GBPVR can not find any. I know the tuner is working fine, because I used it with the FusionHDTV software for a few days without any problems. I have digital cable, and have tried both with and without the STB, still can't find any channels. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Posted by: Ted the Penguin - 2007-03-05, 11:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

ok, I seem to fail at finding things in other peoples skins, but I am trying to skin all of the popups and I cant seem to find where some of them are defined, like the conflict popup, and the error popups, well I think I know where the error one is defined (baseskin.xml), but it looks like its not getting loaded

thanks

youtube skin cached when changing skins
Posted by: Ted the Penguin - 2007-03-05, 11:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

when I change skins from the system/settings menu the youtube skin seems to be cached, it works fine when the application is restarted.

steps to reproduce

  • start GB-PVR
  • go to the youtube plugin (and open it :p)
  • change the skin from the settings screen
  • go back to the youtube plugin
  • the skin will not be the new skin

  Increase performance on your GBPVR
Posted by: Gandalf - 2007-03-05, 09:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

A little trick that might solve some issues with laggy picture/sound.

Increase priority for GBPVR software.

Alt 1 Try if u need it
Start GBPVR
Open taskmanager with Ctrl+Alt+Del
Choose Processes tab
Right click on GBPVR.exe Set priority/High
Watch liveTV for a while and see if u think performance is better (less laggy)

This will increase the default priority from medium to high on your computer and might give GBPVR slightly better performance.

Alt 2 Ok i need it and want it permanent
Scroll down in this thread and download 4zm4r3d02Confused link to a software modifying your taskmanager
Hope this helps someone

Posted by: wilshaw - 2007-03-05, 09:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I would like to see a plug-in for "Movieflix" which lets you watch movies over the Internet. They are located at "www.movieflix.com".

Thanks.....Wilshaw
