I want to upgrade my system so that it is capable of recording and playing HD content without any problems. I also want to do this without spending much money. The hardward that I will keep are a PVR-150 for sd, a dolby digital Live! soundcard, and other accessories (wireless card etc). I also have a PNY FX5200 but I am not sure if I need to buy another graphics card.
Does anyone have any recommendations for CPU's/motherboards? I don't to buy one that will not have the horsepower.
I have one Pvr150 card. The other night I had recordings set on two different channels like such:
ch71 8-10pm
ch53 10-11pm and 11-12pm
so I decided to watch the show while it was recording on ch71 through live tv. In watching I forgot that there were other recordings so I just kept watching ch71 then at 10:30 I realized it should be recording something else so I went to recordings and looked at pending it already showed that I was recording my 10-11pm show on 53. I thought it had been mistaken or wasnt a good recording as I was tuned to the other channel . But I let the recordings run and checked the next day and all of the recordings were good. So how was this possible when I thought that you could only watch what you were recording at the time?
I think I've reached the limit of my knowledge with this. I can only receive the four terrestrial channels where I am but Channel 4 has for some reason always been tricky. Now it's semi-disappeared.
In Config, the four channels are set up in the Capture sources for the two tuners in my PVR500MCE. I'm using XMLTV to download the programme info and it's set up for those four channels (BBC1 South/22, ITV/25, BBC2/28 and C4/32). I know the frequencies are correct because they worked for some time before a little tweaking caused C4 to become problematic.
In the Channels tab in Config, they're set up as channel numbers 1-4 in this order: BBC1, BBC2, ITV and C4.
After hours of experimentation, I have now persuaded the system to record C4, however, which has caused much joy to all in the household . But the problem is that I can't access C4 manually when watching Live TV through GBPVR, either using the ChUp or ChDn on the remote, or by hitting the 4 button. C4 just gets left out. I can however watch it via the TV Guide, so it does seem to be tuned in correctly.
I have ploughed through the wiki but I'm trying to get this fully working again without destroying my list of Reoccurring programming...
Inceidentally, hitting the 'Remove unreferenced channels' lin Config/Channels leaves numerous the detritus of my failed attempts to get C4 accepted in the list (ie, unlinked references to C4) - so is there a way of manually accessing that list and deleting the unwanted ones?
Hello!
Does anyone have a working setup with a abit av8 motherboard and a soundblaster audigy card?
Ill tried with built in soundcard enabled or disabled but with no luck
With soundblaster installed on my Abit AV8 and built in soundcard disabled my audio start to loose sync...and finally the whole picture freezes. With soundblaster i can watch liveTV in 1hour
Without soundblaster i can run for days without problems
So if its working with the built in card why not run with it?
The simple reason is that my built in soundcard sounds like crap compared to
my audigy
This is an update of my GBPVRTray replacement, Slimm GB-PVR.
To install:
Ensure you have installed .NET Framework 2.0. It can probably be installed by accessing your Windows Update or you can follow this download link: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable
For all details regarding current version, please see documentation which is installed alongside the utility and is available in the GBPVR start menu group.

Features
Option to start GB-PVR whenever Slimm GB-PVR is loaded. Request: "Would it be possible to add another checkbox that makes GBPVR.EXE get launched every time SlimmGBPVR is launched? Sometimes I shutdown SlimmGBPVR, then when I rerun it would like it to launch GBPVR for me."
The auto-restart recording service now does not fire if the GB-PVR Config application has been run within the last minute. This stops it attempting to restart the recording service at the same time as the GB-PVR Config application.
Slimm GB-PVR can now auto-kill any GBPVRTray processes while it is running.
Running recording service checked for on startup. If not running and auto-restart is disabled, a warning balloon is shown with information on how to restart it.
Auto-restart recording service feature is checked on startup. If not enabled, a warning balloon is shown with information on how to enable it.
Tools -> Restart Recording Service. If Maintenance Mode is enabled, this could leave the auto-restart recording service feature disabled so you are asked whether you would like to automatically turn off Maintenance Mode.
Bug Fixes
The tooltip for the checkboxes under Tray Configuration -> Startup all had the wrong tooltips because I copied the section "Database disconnect during EPG update".
Coding
Sub-menu appearance changed slightly.

At home and at work i can do everything what i want. Manage recordings, Episode search and so on.
Only at work i am not able to skip in time or day with the TV Guide. When I give another date or time and hit the go! button nothing happens. When I do the same thing at home with the local or outside ip-adress it works ok?
When I look on the statistics tab i see the last build is 53
I got my Hauppauge HVR-1300 setup with GB-PVR (using only the digital part of HVR-1300), and it all works excellent. Though I recently stumbled over something that I do not really know how to solve, if at all possible.
Sometimes there are TV-transmittions that start in 16:9 (announcements etc.) and I then start my recording; then the actual show starts, and it is broadcasted in 4:3.... This leaves me with a file that get's out of aspect for the later part. Is there any way of fixing this, and if so - how is it done?
I have two PCI tuner cards in my PVR -- a Diamond PVR560 (uses the generic Conexant Falcon driver) and an ATI TV Wonder 550 (Theater 550 Pro driver). Both cards are working (generally), but I discovered that I can't control the resolution of either card, even after changing init setting from DEFAULT to IVAC. I've restarted the machine after making the changes, I've tried both 352x480 and 480x480 resolutions, and I consistently (and maddeningly) get 720x480 (according to GSpot). Surprisingly, using the same vbr bitrate of 5500 with both cards results in the first card recording at 3500 and the second card recording at 5500.
Am I out of luck with these two cards, or is there something else I should be trying?
