  Skin Plugin missing file
Posted by: Azimuth - 2007-03-03, 08:53 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (10)

I just installed the CS and skin plugin.
when I try to run the skin plugin from my mvp, it displays the error "Could not find a part of the path '<pathtogbpvr>\Skin\SkinPlugin\BaseSkins'.

Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Build 58 - Episode Search question
Posted by: htewam - 2007-03-03, 02:36 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (21)

I really like where you are going with the additions to the episode search -- thanks for so quickly implementing solutions to my wishlist!

I just downloaded Build 58 to try out the new features but have run into a problem. It "seems" to be ignoring the genre selections when it performs the search -- as best as I can tell no matter what I select out of the genre list, I get the same episode listings back. Basically, I am trying this with the Search Phrase left blank, choosing any one of the genre entries, and not selecting any of the channel entries. Whether I select one genre, no genre, or multiple genres, I seem to get the same result -- lots and lots of found programs.

Note that the channel selection seems to work okay... and the new save/delete search feature works GREAT! I also note that I am no longer getting the "out of memory" failure on large search requests so that fix seems to be working great as well.

  Service restart feature
Posted by: FirstTeamOPS - 2007-03-03, 02:07 AM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (2)

Mister Slimm...
I been dealing with this for a while now and I figured I would throw out some examples and suggestions. They all have to do with the automatic service restart feature of Slimm GB-PVR. Don't get me wrong, it's a great feature especially if you have problems with the service crashing and I wouldn't remove it at all. Usually I end up closing Slimm GB-PVR and reopening when I'm done working (if I remember Rolleyes).

Two issues I commonly run into because I constantly love to tweak GB-PVR:
1. I launch the Config app, I make some changes and click OK. The Config app then restarts the recording service. About one out of every two times Slimm GB-PVR mistakes this for a service crash and restarts the recording service a second time. That's when I get the Tuner Status Warning and it says 'automatic action taken: the recording service has been restarted.'

Is there some way to disable the automatic restart when launching the Config app from the Tools menu and then enable it maybe 15-30 seconds after the Config app closes?

2. Similarly, I often stop the recording service to add/upgrade a plugin. I forget the tray app will see the recording service has stopped and restart it.

Possibly maybe adding an option to the Tools menu that stops the recording service and disables the auto restart allowing me to work and then I click a start service option? Or add a tray configuration option to disregard service crashes (again knowing me I would forget to re-enable it)?

Got any ideas or thoughts on this? or should I just live with it?

Thanks again for the great addon!

  M3U question
Posted by: liteswap - 2007-03-03, 01:38 AM - Forum: Recording2, MusicLibrary2, SystemStatus Support - Replies (6)

Great plugin - but I have what's probably a dumb question.

I've placed my M3U files (converted from my iTunes MP3 library) in the same folder as the iTunes xml library files. ML2 reads the M3U playlists OK but can't find the files they refer to -- even though, on the front page the list of files is there and they play fine.

Is there something else I should do to import the playlists? Thanks for your help with this (probably dumb) issue.

Problem tuning some DVB-S channels using BDA
Posted by: varesino - 2007-03-03, 01:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,
this problem was solved in version 99.05 with a patched version of psiparser.ax that don't care of CRC errors in PMT table, but now I have more or less the same problem again:

there are some channels on specific transponder that are not tuned.

I can fix the problem during scanning using "Ignore PMT CRC errors during scan" under "BDA Advanced Settings" but after, using Live TV, the channels are not tuned.

To me it appears like that the above setting is used only during scanning and not in normal tv view.

Let me know if you need the log files or any other details.

Regards
varesino

DVB-T OTA EPG problem with 99.12
Posted by: patd - 2007-03-02, 11:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi

Experiencing a problem with over the air EPG updates for DVB-T. The problem is that the contents of the sqlite db "programme" table are duplicated x 14 . I have tried refreshing the db and reinstalling gbpvr into a clean directory but to no avail. I traced the problem back to the db table as the TV Listings view became very slow to load and difficult to navigate.

I am running windows 2000, with 2 x WinTV-Nova-t PCI & no plugins.

I turned on SaveDvbEpgXML in config.xml and checked that it doesn't contain loads of duplicate listings.

logs attached.

Cheers

  scripts from google-analytics.com
Posted by: 4zm4r3d02 - 2007-03-02, 10:11 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

I just started using the No-Scripts extension for Firefox, and I noticed that whenever I go to the forums here at gbpvr.com, some kind of script(s) from google-analytics.com try to run.

Not allowing them to run doesn't seem to effect the way the web pages display, so I was wondering what the script(s) do? Do we need to let them run for sub to get credits for the ads?

  Per Channel presets
Posted by: RTR - 2007-03-02, 08:20 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

I have an idea what would make this software unique

I am often irritated on the differences between channels
some have wide picture and the next have letterbox
The first has loud sound next needs surround sound.
Some configs of comskip work on BBC but not on Discovery.
Then you want to transcode your recorded sport with higher quality than the reality show. And so on.

What if it would be possible to chose the prefered preset/config of FFDshow, mediacoder and Comskip in GBpvr´s config program, with some extra columns on the channel pages.
Have a look at this picture
[Image: Config-per-channel.jpg]

I dont know if this possible, but this is the wishlist right!

Thanks for an great app

  PVR-350 Video Alternative
Posted by: deppeler - 2007-03-02, 07:51 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I own a PVR-350 and only really want to use GB-PVR because of it's ability to use a PLAYLIST through the TV-out on the card to play music videos.
I don't use the rest of the program and find it a little slow and bug ridden on my set-up.
Does anyone know if there is just a video playback program that accepts a playlist and uses the PVR-350 tv-out?
The WinTV2000 software does not support playlists....
Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

  Problem with Music Player
Posted by: STX1300MAN - 2007-03-02, 07:14 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I hope someone can help me out, as I love this pluginBig Grin , but have one major problem with it.

Just to clarify I am using the Music Player plugin downloaded from the wiki and not the standard GBPVR one.

When entering Music Player, switching to the Album Art view (the config prefs don't sem to make any difference), and drilling down through my music library's hierarchy, I sometimes get an error of

Now this frustrating but also very strange as I am using GBPVR for its music/audio capabilities and do not have the Archieve plugin installed (at least not that I can see). I think I am right in saying both thse plugins are by the same author, Jefff? Am I experiencing some code "re-use" that is not happening to people with both plugins installed, or is there some other explanation?

I hope Jeff, or someone else can come to my rescue as the setup has got WAF covered apart from this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
