For some reason when I come back from live TV in sassari the TV Guide gets compressed a bit if I have opened the Live TV guide. it works fine again when I go to the menu and back to the tv guide.
exact steps for reproduction, go to tv guide, watch a show (hit play), open the live guide, hit esc to go back to the tv guide. however, it does not appear to happen in the blue skin for some reason. some more information, I have 3 hours of data in my tv guide.
this is not a huge issue for me, I have noticed it for a while, just figured I would let you know about the problem.
any chance that we'll be able to search all of zap2it's epg in the next version? I've mentioned it before but in usa, if u search for the name of a sports team (i.e. Lakers), it doesn't bring up anything. You have to type "basketball" and then click through til u find the name.
Quote:- added ability to show some object in the 'next recording' panel when a recording is currently occurring. (via visible="@IsRecording" composite image element)
Can someone show an example of how this is added to the NextRecording.xml panel to show an object?
ok, so the font Segoe UI seems to render differently in XP Pro and MCE. it appears to be a little bit larger in XP Pro, I honestly have no idea why it would be this way, but has anyone noticed this problem? its driving me nuts. because I am trying to tweak sassari and it makes it difficult to do if the fonts are different sizes on different machines.
I think Segoe Media Center might render the same in both, so I might switch over to that font. but the difference is bothering me
I can not seem to get true Dolby® Digital sound from my PC through to my reciever, the reciever only picks up the front channels and I have to use Pro Logic II to simulate Dolby Digital. I am using the Turtle Beach - Riviera 5.1 Sound Card which has a digital S/PDIF output for pass-through of Dolby® Digital. I configure the Turtle Beach driver force S/PDIF and it is working because the reciver in only hooked up the the optical jack, it just is not receiving it in 5.1? Attached are my log files⦠from the excerpt I think that it is trying to work?
I am using the standard skin "Video" directory with daemon tools to mount my .ISO files that are ripped from DVD and placed on a 3 tera-byte server with about 400 movies. I use the Media Gate MG-35 on another TV in the house and it does exactly what is expected, the reciever picks up the AC3 digital signal and sets Dolby Digital. So I know that DVD .ISO files are carrying the AC3 track.
Hi,
I have been using GBPVR for a long time now (currently v0.99.5), and I've never run into this problem before. I have multiple recurring recordings set up for Monday evenings using two PVR-150's:
These recordings have been set up for at least a year now, and there has never ever been a problem recording them, until last night. I sat down to watch the 8:00-8:30 show recorded on channel 4, and it had not recorded the proper channel. It turns out that instead of recording channel 4, it had recorded Channel 3 from 8:00-8:30 (and replacing the fiancee's favorite show with 30 minutes of "deal or no deal" did not go over very well). Even stranger, the shows scheduled to record on Channel 4 at 8:30 and 9:00 recorded just fine on the proper channel, as did my other two shows on Channel 8.
I have not made any changes to GBPVR settings or plugins recently...so as far as I know, nothing at all has changed with the setup that should have caused this problem. I have attached my log files in hopes that someone can help me figure out what went wrong and prevent this from happening again.
I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arrise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.
Some important first comments though...
Installing v0.99.12
As always, its recommended that you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb/gbpvr.db3 files if you're upgrading from a previous release. Do not copy these back on to the new release though - these are just in case you need to go back to the old version.
Won't bore you with a rant about how shite the pinnacle media center software is, only to say that I'm getting desperate for an alternative. GP PVR is the only program I've had partial success with.
I have the Pinnacle 310i card and it picks up all my local digital channels but only one comes up with a picture. All the rest are black screen and during live tv the message "no signal detected" comes up.
Have seen similar type problems on other threads but no obvious solution that works for me (please feel free to point out suggestions I may have missed). The one digital channel that does work is fine (only SD, the HD says quality is 100%, signal is 0%)
I'm using overlay. All channels work fine on the Pinnacle software - (but don't even try to record using PMC).
I recently upgraded my main box to an AMD X2 4200 with a Sapphire Theatre 550-based tuner card and decided to install GB-PVR. Everything works fine except on about every third boot, the system tray icon loads, but the recording service dies in an unusual way: I'll right-click on the GB icon and the menu takes up to 5 seconds to load (it's usually instantaneous), then when I click on Show Status, it shows me EIGHT capture sources! That'd be nice, but I only have the ONE! Clicking on Restart Recording Service fixes the problem, but if I don't check it, it'll never record (just creates an entry with the FAILED flag).
I've been using GB-PVR as a stand-alone system on "older" PCs and haven't had this kind issue before. Software is the same on all my boxes: XP Pro SP2, gig of RAM, Theater 550 cards, Avast! Anti-virus. Only difference is that all other systems are single-core CPUs while the one that gives me this odd glitch is a dual-core.
I've got all the latest drivers, running v0.99.5, with the latest BIOS for my mobo, too...
