I see a lot of promise for this program. I am specifically interested in the WakeOnLan capability. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get it to work 100% yet. This is what happens..
- My PC is off
- I select emulation mode on the mvpmc screen.
- It tries to connect to the server 30 times and fails (b/c my PC is booting)
- I wait a moment and click emulation mode again
- This time it connects to the server and the GBPVR screen comes back.
- Thats all I get. GBPVR is completely unresponsive after that. I can see the light on the media mvp blinking indicating that it is receiving IR signals but nothing happens.
Have other people gotten this working? Is it a known issue. If you require me to do any further testing please let me know.
I'm reading through docs and it seems this HIP program is a way I can control all of the actions for the codes the remote sends. However, I also get the impression that I can modify the native support for the MCE 2005 remote. I can't find what file has this data, and where the commands are for each button.
Basically I want to make the Recorded TV button launch XRecord plugin and select Ready button so I can see all recorded programs.
I also want to make the pretty Windows logo button do something.
I run the GB-PVR config tool and tried changing the settings for the xguide plugin to exclude certain channels, as well as unchecking channels from the Channels tab. I'm not sure what the Channels tab is for, but neither one affects what channels are listed when I hit the Guide button.
I'm thinking of moving away from zip files for distribution so I can distribute common library's without fear of version conflicts and avoid overwriting user's config files (WebCams2.xml for example).
So my question is what are my options? I want something simple and easy to use, its hard work with all these plugins
A beta version of UbuStream v2.1 release is now available for download from the wiki. For installation instructions and a description of the new features, see this post in the UbuStream and EPGExtra support sub-forum.
Since this is a complete rewrite of most of the plugin's underlying framework, I'm looking for some help in getting it production-ready. Hopefully, it's more of a "release candidate" than a "beta" so this shouldn't take too long.
Make sure to check out the README document included in the zip file before installing it.
So, after several delays and false starts, the v2.1 Beta release of UbuStream is now available on the UbuStream wiki page. It's fairly stable (at least on my test systems ) but, since I have rewritten much of the code pertaining to stream playback, there could be a bug or two. I'd really appreciate some help getting the last kinks out of it so I can officially release it ASAP.
No installer, just unzip to your gbpvr directory. If you have v2.0 installed, your station database will be converted the first time you run the config app. But, as always, back up your UbuStream.xml file to be on the safe side. Make sure to read the README document for specific installation instructions.
New features:
Two new playback options should make using an external media player a thing of the past. Preview Play uses internal players embedded in the UbuStream code to play streams for WMP, RealPlayer, QuickTime and VLC. Timeshift Play uses a new windows recording service to transcode the streams to mpeg-2 or mp3 on the fly so they can be played using GB-PVR's own playback capability.
A revamped and much more usable Channel mode utilizing a custom, UbuStream-friendly version of the ExternalRecorder plugin.
MVP support for most video/audio streams in both List mode and Channel mode via Timeshift Play.
Three different options for recording a stream permanently to disk.
Each station's playback characteristics can be configured individually.
Station config provides a container browser that lets you pick individual stream URLs from an asx, wvx, ram or smil file.
Config app now lets you change the default player for multiple stations in one step by selecting them from a list.
Many cosmetic and usability changes to both the config app and the GB-PVR plugin UI.
All of the channels are showing up in the snow blur, except for only can I get in clearly. i know that it is not my cable because when I open hauppauge wintv The channels come in perfectly clear. Why am I not getting any channels? Is it a setting thing?
I am running my new wii and GBPVR into my TV. (It has only one Video input). When running the wii, i unplug the s-video of gbpvr. And when I'm done, I replug it, but about half the time, the screen is really bad (or just not registering from my system to the tv). If I reset the computer, it is fine again.
Is this just a screen refresh thing? Is there a simple way to refresh it? Any thoughts?
I am trying to set up the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB 2 and getting no place with the set up. I followed the instructions and Zapit tells me I am set up wrong. I tried following the instructions but since this is a USB device how do I get the gbpvr to recognize it and how do I tune the channels. I have Comcast and get standard channels with the device.
