i just upgraded to the latest version of gbpvr. my old version was a year old. now transcoding an avi to mvp is tiled and stops a few minutes into movie. everything worked fine on old version, same avi file, same mvp. installed zprocess and viewing movie looks and acts the same.
I also love this plugin, especially the collections feature, which will allow me to organize by genre and subgenre. But I'm having a few problems... I'm running on XP and ripping with WMP 11.
1. Tag issues:
a. scattered tracks have "other" listed as the genre on the details panel, and the tracks are sorted by genre as other. I can't find any pattern. It's scattered across albums, artists, and genres. If I look at the track properties in XP the genre is listed correctly, and WMP and Real list it properly. The only workaround I've found is to delete the track from my hard drive, update the library, rerip the track, and hope it sorts properly. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Seems to happen regardless of whether I edit the genre field in WMP or edit the properties in XP.
b. The bitrate, size, and comment fields are blank in the details panel. If I hit the record button, bitrate and size appear, but the comment field remains blank. When I exit the detail panel and come back, bitrate and size are blank again.
2. Screensaver:
The screensaver freezes. It never happens when playing music, but happens randomly at other times. The time stops updating and the display stays in one place on the screen. Once it freezes, it doesn't start again; it's necessary to exit the screensaver by clicking a button. It seems to have something to do with processes running in the background. It happens when GBPVR is recording and when my virus scanner runs in the background. It happens at other times too, but I don't know if there's some process in the background that interferes.
Also, is it possible to have the album title displayed on the screensaver as well as artist and song title? Many of my album covers don't have the album name. I really like the abulm art display, but would like the title as well.
Thanks again for a wonderful plugin. Let me know if I can provide any other info that would help.
I was wondering if there was anyway to get this plug in to work with DirecTv. I've searched on the forums and didn't find anything that really said. I have my STB running through the TV Wonder 650 break out box if that helps. Other then that I have to say I love GB PVR. Alot of plugs ins for it so you can make it look the way you want.
I'm playing around with ZProcess and experimenting with the different profiles. One thing I've found kind of confusing is the way ZProcess injects itself into gbpvr to do the transcoding, but doesn't read the transcoding options out of config.xml.
If I understand correctly, when you launch a conversion that uses ZProcess, ZProcess looks at the target extension (and maybe source?) to determine which profile to use, is this right? As I play with ZProcess I'm getting to where I like it quite a bit, but I can think of more uses if it didn't have this limitation.
First of all, why not allow users to create their own profiles and then pass the name of the profile to ZProcess on the command line? The command line arguments of gbpvr's CustomFFmpegConversions are being discarded anyway, so why not remove useless args from the config command lines and replace them with a command line argument ZProcess will use, namely the profile name. This would allow you to support the differing bitrate .wmv profiles that gbpvr comes with, and it would allow new formats to be added easily too. I think it'd be less confusing too.
For instance, I'm looking to add some conversions for .ts files that'll be supported in the next gbpvr release. I want to add a conversion of HD files to SD .mpg for viewing on my MVPs, and I want to add a conversion option to .AVI for archiving. This 2avi profile I want to use HD resolutions, while my normal SD 2avi profile I want to convert to 512x384. I can't do this now, but if we could passed the profile names on the command line, it'd be simple. The same is true for 2mpg... I'd like one for converting to something the MVP can view, and one for converting to HD mpgs.
Anyway, it's just a thought. ZProcess is really growing on me, especially how you made it so easy to test the same settings in ffmpeg, vlc and mencoder, and it's real-time checking of the aspect ratios. Very cool.
I am trying to work out how to get my IMON vfd that is in my Silverstone SST-LC-16m case to display usefull GB-PVR info like recording status etc. This thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=Imon seems to cover everything I need but I just can't figure out how to get it all working. Specifically where to put the plugin for the IMON software to use.
As i understand it the way it works is: GB-PVR ----> LCDsmartie -----> IMON -----> VFD
Which seems like a real pain. I noticed that Imon have released an Api which would make a gbpvr plugin a little more straight forward.
Can anyone who uses the previous setup give me an idiot's guide I'm finding it hard to figure out going through all the old posts. Or if anyone has another way of doing it.
I'm trying to play ratDVD files in gbpvr. My problem is, that the files don't show up in the video library. I allready used the search function and some threads say, that it should showup without any modifications - is that right? What am I doing wrong?
I'm using 9905 and the basic skin (blue skin doesn't change anything).
I am running the music library 2 plugin. I have all of my music showing, i have even rebuilt the db. when i try to play a song on the mvp it shows the 00:00:00 then goes away and no music.
videos play fine. if i open the gb-pvr on my desktop it plays the music just fine.
I don't transcode many videos, but I'd love the option to have some recordings Transcode immediately after they're done. My kids like some videos for their PSP, or I record something in HD that I know my kids will want to watch on their MVP in their rooms instead of on the big screen.
We don't want everything to be transcoded automatically... just specific recordings or series recordings.
Whenever I set something to record, GBPVR doesn't record the entire program. It seems pretty random how much is actually recorded. Sometimes it's less than a minute, while sometimes it records more than half of the show. It doesn't matter what player I play the files in, and the size of the files seems to indicate that the program just stopped recording at some point.
Attached are my logs. Can anyone think of what might cause this to happen?
