I have web access configured and ports forwarded appropriately through my router. When I access the web application from an external IP I am presented with the login form but it will not accept my login/password. As an experiment, I added the External IP to the "Automatic Logon Range" and the basic web interface worked perfectly (TV Guide, Recordings, etc.) Clicking on the "Config" tab brought up the logon page (like always) but it again won't accept my login/password. When I connect from my LAN everything works properly including the login/password page.
I'm based in the UK and purchased a HVR4000 with PowerCinema a couple of months ago.
I quickly realised the limitation of PowerCinema and the inability to record and watch seperate live tv channels.
So I wanted to add an additional receiver to my system for recording but needed capable software.
I came across GBPVR which looks amazing. So I thought I would have a go at setting it up with the HVR4000 before getting a new card.
I am ofay with PC's, but satellite is pretty new to me so I have not got a clue how to set this thing up and remain mistified about the capture source settings, althought I did manage to get the analogue side work (accidently).
During configuration it asks for a capture source which requires
a) recorder
b) EPG
c) channel changer
I am not sure what I should be plugging in here to get this working correctly.
Initially i want to focus on get the DVB-S side working and was wondering if somebody has and idiots guides that I could use or some advice to get this working on the HVR4000 for UK, using Sky Satellite.
Zehd -
i can set up a 2avi profile as i want quiet happily and get it applied
if i manually process or process all from the file selection tab -
however if I put things into the queue and tell it to process - it comes up with some default (transMVP) profile for the transcode regardless of what i select in the transcode tab?
(at least for me anyway)
is there a way i can set the profile to be used for the queue tab - i dont use
or own mvps and want to convert stuff down to avi from dvr-ms to save space.
I'm new here, so hello to you all from the antipodes !. (Perth, West Australia).
I am hoping that some of you can help with configuiring my new DVB-T/Fm Tuner card - "MSI TV@nywhere A/D" to work with GB-PVR.
I have searched this forum but have not come up with anything useful....perhaps some of you gurus have some sage advice.
This Pci tuner card works fine enough with the bundled software (DTV), but there are some issues like having to swithch to AC-3 audio mode when jumping to HDTV channels, and the setup table settings do not seem to 'stick'.
Also FM audio recordings are at lower quality and I can't find a way to alter the sample rate etc......
If the sage advice is that this card is a 'lemon' and has no future with FB-PVR, please let me know.
If it can be made to wotk with GB-PVR then I would be very pleased.
Thanks and regards, Eric Mc.
I've been using GB-PVR for about 8 months now and I love it.
About two weeks ago the system began freezing on playback. I havn't modified anything or installed any new software. the program will begin playing back a show and then the screen will go white and display a patteren (included in the log zip) It can happen when I'm watching a file or as soon as I press fwd or back. It's recording the show without any problems and comskip is able to work with them as well. but sooner or later it will lock up on every show I've tried to watch.
I've reinstalled the program on reapir settings and have also updated my video card drivers. I've also tried a restor to about a week ago (that's as far as my restore points go back)
So i've got EWA up and running (not tested the streaming part) and can access it all from outside my network.
Unfortunately my Office has kindly decided to block port 7647 so i can't access it from work!
I know I can change the port in GBpvr but the questions is what to change it to. I can't use 80 as i have an IRtrans VFD/IR receiver and it runs a server on port 80 (can't find a way to change it, which would be the easiest thing if anyoine knows how) firefox won't let me access anything on port 21 as Its not a usual web port. So i'm stuck with trying some other ports
Its a bit time consuming to try a port go to work see it doesn't work and go round and round, so what i'd like is a way to be able to see what has been blocked so I can set it up just once!
Anybody any ideas on this, obviously I don't want to be fired for hacking into the system
just tried changing the mvp screen size/position and it does not seem to work using your latest dongle, although the same settings appear to work correctly with the hauppauge dongle
I used the plugin with your dongle and set the dimensions as follows
x 624
y 504
x offset 44
y offset 36
I am using a 16:9 pal television to view the output
with these settings the image was about 1 cm smaller all round the screen using the hauppauge dongle but unchanged with your dongle
hope you get this dongle working succesfully and I am happy to test things as required
I particularly like being able to power off or reboot with out having to pull the power cord out
Tkgafs
Attached are files that show there is clearly a difference between 720x576 and your settings on my machine, so you might have to redefine your defaults.

Im sure you have heard this one before, but I would like it if the OSD didnt come on by mouseing over the screen. Maybe make it come on with a left click?
I use the random mode of ml2 [press red button to get a random playlist]
if a track is playing and you press the skip button >| on the remote after about 10 seconds the track skips to the next track [with the hauppauge dongle the skip is immediate] but it only plays about 5 secs of music and then stops, if you press play it will play the same 5 seconds again
With the exception of a bit of trouble with the audio buffer not being emptied completely I think this is much better now, if you want to grab the alpha. Turns out to be the audio equivalent to the problem I had with livetv.
Quote:if you use the arrow keys to navigate around the playlist and press play on a track once again it only plays the first few seconds of the track
The navigation works but the play key does nothing, but the ok does change tracks. I'll look to see if I have an old version of the plugin. If you notice any other differences let me know.
