New OS & HD, How to keep Recordings/Info
Posted by: angusmccloud - 2007-02-17, 08:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

So I want to upgrade my htpc to Vista. I bought a new hard drive, and have Vista installed on it (and NOTHING else yet). Because it is running my OS, I CAN'T change it from being the C drive.
I have my old 2 drives that are full of recordings (as well as XP and GBPVR). So I can still bootup in XP and get complete access to everything as if Vista doesn't exist.

I want to start using gb in Vista, but want to make sure that my recordings and their info does not disappear from GB... I've tried to search around the forums to find the answer on how to do this, and VideoArchive is the only thing that looks like it might help, but I'm not sure...

Any suggestions?

What creates recording-dump.xml? Is there a way to cause it to be recreated?

TV up high, corruption down below
Posted by: Hishighness420 - 2007-02-17, 07:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hey all, got a bit of a problem, I'm running GBPVR on a new computer but when I open it up the TV is way up at the top then there's a black bar below it and down at the bottom a distortion line blinking at the bottom. Is there some way to fix this or any info that I could give to help diagnose it?

Diamond PVR660RCUSB... Is there support for this thing?
Posted by: rbeldin - 2007-02-17, 07:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi...

I found this device in a bargain bin at Frye's and it appears to work quite well, but I am disappointed in the software they deliver with it - ArcSoft TotalMedia.
(Annoyingly, ArcSoft refuses to allow me to register because there is no serial number that I can detect... Sigh).

I can find references to the pci-sister of this thing, the PVR550 but very few on this one. It appears to use the Conexant chip set. I can see from the drivers registered that it does use some drivers apparently written by Conexant.

I'm willing to experiment but need a bit of direction in figuring what devices I might try that might be similar. I'd be willing to do some testing on this device if it would help. I'd also be willing to do some testing under Linux if one knows of any software in that arena that supports this.

Thanks,

Rick

Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick
Posted by: bourned - 2007-02-17, 04:18 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Hello,
I have just bought a Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick, but I'm not keen on the Pinnacle Media Centre user interface. I really liked what I saw of the GBPVR interface, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet. I followed some of the posts here to see if I could work out the problem, to no avail. I would appreciate any help I can be given here. I attach the FilterCheck.log that I generated. I have not been able to locate the BDA filter to add into bda.ini.
Thanks in advance for any feedack...

  Matching Channels after Tuning Assistant
Posted by: nickroberts5 - 2007-02-17, 03:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi, bit of newb so not sure whether or not this is a stupid question?

I've gone through the tuning assistant and noted down the channels it has found. What i'm confused about however, is how do I match these channels to set up in gb-pvr. i.e. I know that the tuning assistant found a channel on 37, but how do I know which this channel relates to?

Hope that makes sense!

Cool

  Plugins not showing up
Posted by: daskrabs - 2007-02-17, 02:58 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

There must be a really simple answer to this, but is there any reason why the weather AND sports score plugins would not show up at all? I have the latest version of gb-pvr. I ran the weather installer, and it completed successfully. For sports, I extracted the 2 prerequiste packages and the actual sports package to the appropriate directories. Still, neither plugin shows up. Any ideas? I have restarted gb-pvr and Windows since. Thanks

  Aver TV Hybrid
Posted by: stumacmac - 2007-02-17, 12:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

This looks a great piece of software.

I have a Aver TV Hybrid card, which is not listed as supported.

Has anyone got GB-PVR to work with this card? And if so how?

Thanks

Stuart
