How I can tell Windows to always use certain video codec?
Everytime I change the codec in GBPVR, I do not see the desired effect when I play back the video (I expected sharper colors ...etc.).
Also when I play uisng Window Media Player, and look under properties in the file menu, it still uses default MPEG VIDEO CODEC, but I want it to use ATI video codec.
How I force Windows and/or GBPVR to use certain codec?
I think even GBPVR does not follow its own config (though the menus in config says ATI) but still playback uses default.
I am running V 99.5 and can not play the AVI file but I can play the file in Media Player. I am using the Nvidia Pure Video Decoder. I have tried different types of filters and I still can not get it to play, I really like using my MCE remote when playing back files.
I've searched the forum but am having trouble with failed recordings when the system has to boot up from complete shutdown, and am trying to understand why.
I don't use Standby because I don't want my system to go to Standby because on Standby it uses 71 watts. I'm probably the only citizen of the united states that actually cares that that's 71 watts of coal spewing CO2 into the air about 22 hours a day that I don't watch TV, every day. Thus I shut it down, obviously.
But sometimes it works and sometimes I get failed recordings.
So I'm trying to understand padding.
Is the pre-padding intended to allow time for the system to boot up, or is it to simply compensate for clock offset, to ensure complete recording? My default has been one minute of pre-padding but it takes more than a minute to boot.
When I set GBPVR with one minute pre-padding does it start to boot one minute ahead of time and then start recording? And if, then, it takes more than a minute to boot does it "give up" and fail?
Regardless of whether my system booted up to record or not, what about if there are two recordings back-to-back, with non-zero post padding on the first and/or non-zero pre-padding on the second? What happens then?
A little more explanation of padding, for both the booting up (off Standby, Hibernation, or off of being completely shut down) would be helpful.
If this has been explained somewhere already, my apologies... perhaps my search eluded me.
I just tried to download and setup the new UbuRadio, which sounds very promising.
I can use it via GBPVR, but would like to use it via MVP in Timeshift mode. That causes me some problems. I have attached the UbuNetStreamPlayer.VLC.log, which shows some errormessages i.e.
Connection to 192.168.16.8 port 80 failed: Connection timed out ??
My network is set up local to use 192.168.4.1
I got the file gbnetradio-0.mp3 created, but it is only 0 KB in size and is automaticly deleted after an attempt to launc the WebRadio.
Does someone have a clue where to look - Maybe it is my VLC ?
I am new to gbpvr and I am absolutely delighted about it!!!
While hanging on another thing (I posted it here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=24468 - maybe someone of you know a solution) I tried the EWA. Now I have the following questions on it:
Is it possible to delete recordings with the web interface?
When clicking on âStreamâ in âManage Recordingsâ or on âWatchâ in TV Guide a window pops up. Is it possible to set the size of the pop up window?
When playing the stream in the embedded vlc player changing the size under âVideo Sizeâ has no effect. Is there any way how I can change the size of the embedded player?
Also I do not know the difference between âScaleâ and âPresentâ.
I have searched the forum and other websites and I could not get windows to recognize my MCE remote.
I obtained the irbus.sys, irbus.inf and irbus.pnf files.
I copied them where I was directed to copy them.
I rebooted
I pluged my ir receiver into my usb port.
The device is detected but not installed properly.
Now my device manager show and error 10 for the device and I can not get it to go away.
I later installed HIP and the remote works wonderfully but I still have this error. I know it is a little silly to worry about this when the device works but it really bothers me.
I've had a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 for several weeks now and have settled on the GBPVR software. It is wonderfully configurable and customizable! And this support forum is the best!
On to my problem and question...
I have the MCE version of the USB2 so I configured GBPVR to use the MCE Remote. The supplied IR blaster works fine, but my STB uses an RF remote, so I don't need the blaster for that purpose. When I remove the IR blaster completely and try to use the USB2 built-in IR receiver, the remote commands aren't received. What do I need to do to enable/configure the built-in IR receiver?
Thanks sub and ALL forum members for taking the time to help each other out.
Pete
this is not so mutch for the software but the download speed that i found bit slow... only got like 3-4kb/s. So could you plz add torrent =). it would speed up the downloads and you wouldn´t have to pay a penny more than you do now.
Can I change the order that the menu buttons appear? Specifically in "Recordings" I want to default to "Recent Recordings" instead of the alphabetical sort.
