I have 2 WinTV-PVR-150MCE and both have FM radio, but GB-PVR doesn't see the radio HW. Where is this media plugin for FM radio on Hauppauge's web site? I can't find anything. Using driver 3.1F version.
When I select FM Radio in GB-PVR, then Scan, I get a dialog box that says
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
So I'm getting the "Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application." error (white background) every time I try to load up the web admin in my browser ever since I upgraded to build 57. I read in the Wiki that I sometimes have to wait 48 hours before I can use it, because of a problem in .NET. Is that my issue here?
The recording service stops processing new recordings and the application becomes incredibly slow to respond to the remote (1 -2 minutes between a button press and it working.)and commercial skipping ceases
I'm including the logs. This problem is intermittent in other words the recording usually works fine for a while 2-3 days maybe and then locks up usually when i try to record 2-3 programs at once. but not always. In other words i can record 2-3 programs at once.
noticed the line...
Failure in ChannelFactory::loadProgrammeByOID(): The database file is locked
database is locked
--- in the recording service logs but could not find it in a search of the forums.
If I restart the recording service thigs are happy again.
I've just set up my MVP to run with the gbpvr software. Everything seems to be fine with the occasional crashing of the MVP unit and then the need to restart the gbpvr software on my computer so the MVP can recognize it (any suggestions?). My bigger issue right now is the inability of the gbpvr software to "see" any of my TiVo Recording files. The gbpvr sees and plays all my MP3's but not my TiVo video files. Can anyone please offer me some assistance?
is it possible to get the skin files that are used for the screen shots on the wiki?
I want to keep the blue skin for everything else but just add whatever is used in the wiki to the video archive plugin skin directory. (If that makes any sense at all)
I record my shows from satellite to a removable SATA2 drive connected via a USB cable. I have no problems recording the shows, my problem is if I power-down the removable and power it back-up, my recorded shows no longer display under Recordings in GB-PVR. To view my recorded shows I have to use the Video Library.
I thought I should spend a night or so configuring my Harmony remote as it's supposed to be configured.
What I would like is to say that I have a device that guarantees that exactly all buttons on the remote is mapped. I can then tech GB-PVR whatever I want.
Is anyone familiar with which device I should pick during setup. I tried Micorsoft Media PC Remote 1039 but then the PG+ and PG- wasn't mapped.
NewB here and planning on buying a box to dedicate as a PVR, torrent downloader(also to playback movies downloaded) and to surf and download using a 32" LCD for display.
Currently looking at a used "small form factor" dell, a Optiplex 745. From reading around I think I need a Tuner/PVR card and a Video card to set this up. This box has 2 slots:
1 Low-Profile PCI
1 Low-Profile PCI Express x16
My first question is, will I be able to get a good tuner and video card for these L.P. slots that will provide me the best picture quality on a HD LCD?
Also, any particular tuner and video card I should look at? Any specs I should look for the best picture quality. I read something that said look for cards that did interdelacing?
Would like to get this setup right the first time around. If you guys think I'm screwing myself by getting a Small Form Factor with the Low Profile PCI slots, please let me know. Would prefer to not have a full size PC.
I'm trying to deal with several unhandled exception problems, mainly to do with Interop activex modules over which I have little or no control. I'm hoping someone can a) explain GB-PVR's behaviour when these errors occur and b) give me a clue as to the best way to deal with them.
Normally, if I fail to catch an exception in my plugin's code, the exception gets written to the gbpvr log (which is good because the user doesn't see anything and I get info about where I should add exception handling).
But sometimes (as in the case of Interop code) an unhandled exception dialog gets shown (the one with the "Details", "Continue", "Quit" buttons). I'm not sure if this is being displayed by Windows or if GB-PVR has its own exception trapper that displays this.
And then there's the third situation where the Windows "Send Error Report" dialog gets shown. I usually get this one when exiting GBPVR (and it's intermittent, darn it). There's no clue in the log file and no noticeable bad things happened while running GB-PVR. I'm pretty sure it's related to one or more of the activex components I'm using.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to trap "real" errors and handle them properly and to detect "spurious" errors (one's that don't seem to actually affect run time behaviour in any way) so I can ignore them and suppress error dialogs being displayed.
Googling the subject, I've discovered techniques for providing my own unhandled exception manager, but only at the application level (I think  ) and I don't want to be overriding this stuff for GB-PVR as a whole , just for my plugin.
I imagine I'm not the first developer to encounter this issue (although I can't find any threads discussing it). Any ideas?
