I have 4 MVPs and *sometimes* once connected I get no audio or video(black screen), putting into standby and connecting again a few times will get it to work. but its rather annoying.
I've seen this thread (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=23270)about getting the control and streaming connection, and my log shows the streaming connection failing but its not my firewall as its disabled and not the Hauppauge services. Can it be anything else? Its worse on the latest release 99.5
Greetings all,
This looks like a really neat product. I have an Adaptec Video Oh! on USB which shows the video, but I cannot get sound. I load the InterVideo DVR 3 and it works great. I wanted to try out Video GBpvr and have hit this roadblock.
second item. I am a little dissapointed with the quality of the video from the adaptec.
what is the greatest impact on video quality from a capture device.
1) digital vs analog input
2) card HDTV capabilities
3) Other?
I just recently got Digital cable, And i have been doing searches for the past few days. I have a pvr-150 that did not come(so i think) with the irblaster, it just has an ir reciver.( one wire with a round dongle at the end). So I understand that i need a Blaster to control the STB. Which is cool. I am Just wondering what you guys suggest, or if you know a place where i can buy the OEM Hauppuge one with my card. My stb has a db9( i think from memory) connector on the back so i might try using a cable to directly control it, once i find one that will work. What software do i need to use to control the STB with a direct connetion with a cable.
This is my first post but i have been reading here for a while, and you guys are a great source of information
and the problems continue....
just added my third HVR card. Because it was cheep, and because i thought it wouldnt matter, its actually the MCE / non IR version of the card. unfortunately ir.exe now wont launch because it thinks theres no ir hardware available (even though the other two cards are IR versions).
I can disable the MCE card, launch ir.exe then reenable the MCE card and everything works fine - ive posted this on the hauppauge forums, but until i get a reply Im looking for a way to automate this.
Is it possible to dissable and enable PCI cards from the command line / batch file???
edit: forget that - i found devcon. just need to figure it out now....
I am using the latest GBPVR along with DishTV and the PVR 150. I have a few problems with channels. I can use the remote that came with the TV tuner to change the channel but when I try to change the channel to HBO (channel 300) or above, it jumps back down to channel 25. It does, however, say for a minute on the bottom of the screen show the listing for HBO. Another problem is that Zap2It didn't import channel 112 which is HGTV so I added it in manually. But I still can't change the channel to 112. Anyone have similar problems? Thanks for any help!
gbpvr works great, but when I record something, I want to edit out the commercials. Windows Movie Maker seems okay, but is inprecise, and leaves a couple of frames of the commercials in. Avid Free DV takes forever to load and takes up all of my computers resources before even opening these sometimes multi-gig recordings. Virtual Dub cant edit mpeg2 files.
Any ideas why GBPVR cant find any channels when eveything is set up the same as before I reinstalled and wintv2k can find them all ?
Strange thing also happened - I had a recording scheduled, but rebooted as it started. The recording service kicked in on restart and the show recorded OK. However, trying to watch something 2 minutes later and there was just a blank screen. Doing a channel search found nothing !
I have been trying for several days using different programs and not one has worked great. I tried the GBPVR transcode and after 24hrs it was still trying to convert the same file (any help with maybe setting this up to work right).
I tried DVRMSToolbox. It would not get past about .75%, even after leaving it for >24hrs to run. I have tried AVS Tools 5.5. It worked to convert to Xvid, but the video was choppy. I have been trying to use Digital Video Converter 2.7 and had audio sync problems as well as choppy video converting to Xvid. Trying again to convert to MPEG2 right now.
I am so frustrated by this. Using the Cyberlink Mux on ATSC is horrible so all I can use it DVR-MS.
