NextPVR or the EPG borked up the time change
Posted by: Ronstang - 2020-11-02, 04:41 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (6)

All my recordings that were happening during the time change Sunday morning are all messed.  I'm not sure it the cause lies with the EPG or with how NextPVR handles it but I did notice that all day yesterday the little bar in the web app that shows the current time vertical on the guide was incorrect by the old time.

It appears that I had a recording start at 1;59AM on TCM and it somehow padded the program by almost an hour and then the next two movies were just recorded after that recording stopped so the first one has all the first movie and part of the second, the second has part of the second and part of the third, and the third has the ending of the third.  Now I should be able to edit these back together but it is a pain.

I'm not sure if anyone else had this problem but I felt I should report it so you can determine the cause to see if it can be avoided in March.

Thanks

  Backup / Restore Channel ORDER
Posted by: Kurosh - 2020-11-02, 10:28 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (31)

Hello, what's the best way to backup and restore the channel order/numbers? The frequencies may change upon a rescan... I just want a way to rescan all the channels but instead of manually typing in all the numbers again (which takes ages as I've loads of channels), a more automated / quicker way to restore a particular channel name(s) to a specific number(s).

Ideally, when I do a rescan (as channels move frequencies sometimes), it would overwrite the existing channels WITHOUT replacing the channel numbers I have previously painstakingly rearranged.

TV Guide Time Zone problem in Web App
Posted by: MovieWiz - 2020-11-01, 08:49 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (24)

In Toronto, Canada, we switched to Eastern Standard Time this morning.  The TV Guide is showing everything at the correct times in the Windows Desktop App.  But the Windows Web App is showing all programming one hour later.  I don't think this is a browser problem because it happens in all 3 of my browsers:  Firefox, Chrome and Edge (latest version for all).  So this appears to be an issue on the server side of the TV Guide.  It's also not a problem in the xml tv guide data (I checked) and like I said, the desktop app is working fine.  Also, recordings are occurring at the proper time.  Just a presentation issue in the web app's tv guide.

Is there be an environment variable or config setting that would allow me to work around the problem?  I really prefer the web app's TV guide - it's just so efficient to work with and uses screen real estate so economically.

Only pulling 10 hours of EPG listings
Posted by: natpayjc - 2020-11-01, 07:37 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

Everything was working fine until I installed a new tuner card.  When I scanned channels and updated EPG, I only got 10 hours of EPG listings.  After trying several things, I uninstalled and reinstalled NextPVR.  I get 10 hours of EPG listings whether I have Schedules Direct credentials in NextPvr or do not have the credential in.  I am using the correct login because it gives me an error when I put incorrect ones in.  It looks like I am not pulling from Schedules Direct.  Zip log attached.  Please help.

Web interface TV guide didn't do DST shift
Posted by: baj1 - 2020-11-01, 06:11 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (4)

The TV Guide in the web interface doesn't appear to have updated with the change to go off daylight savings time.  Linux Mint v19.3.  My PC clock is correct, and if I pull up the TV Guide in Kodi-knewc it's correct there.  The listings are all shifted as well so the web TV Guide status line (current time) indicates the correct show, but the time line across the top is an hour off.

  Choppy video
Posted by: jmdapozzo - 2020-11-01, 05:53 PM - Forum: NextPVR Other Clients - Replies (21)

Here is my setup:

  • HDHomerun Extent
  • Raspberry Pi 4 booting from an SSD Samsung T5 drive
  • Schedules Direct EGP

Everything works fine except for a few irritating pauses in the video.
Note that these cuts seemed less obvious when there was no EPG configured; but then again this was only a feeling.

Any idea how to solve this?
From what I read, the Raspberry Pi 4 was suitable to run NextPVR.

autoskip (of commercials) still happens when turned off
Posted by: baj1 - 2020-11-01, 06:16 AM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (7)

Logs attached.  I have autoskip set to false in config.xml.

My wife had problems with autoskip acting up while watching a recording earlier, so I just went back and retried it to get the logs.  The file is "Early.Edition.S01E13.Mob.Wife.ts" and I started it about 00:17:53.  I was doing 30 second skip fwd/rev around the commercials and couldn't get it to play the portion marked as commercial, (and the portion marked as commercial wasn't quite right).  This was done in Kodi/knewc running on the Mint NextPVR server.  At least one other recording seems to work fine with the commercials marked, so it's not a global issue.

I was thinking it could be a bad recording or have a bad timeline.  For giggles I went to one of my ODroids with Kodi/knewc and played the same show a little later on, @ 00:57:03.  It played perfect, I could jump around within the comskip commercial area without the playback immediately skipping to the end of the commercial portion.  So seemingly not a problem with the file.

Had comskip working, now it's not.
Posted by: baj1 - 2020-11-01, 05:36 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (11)

So I had comskip working for at least a few days, now it's not.  I created /opt/var/nextpvr/scripts/PostProcessing.sh from Martin's post here:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid527373

My comskip folder appears to be intact in my home folder.

I'm not finding Comskip, comskip or "PostProcessing" in the log files either, attached.

Suddenly unable to record / watch live TV
Posted by: skip460 - 2020-11-01, 01:07 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (9)

NextPVR has been working fine until today.

Today at about 9.05am I fired it up to watch Insiders on ABC (live TV) but got nothing in Kodi, and when I tried in NextPVR desktop, just a black screen. NextPVR web app throws a transcoder error when I try to watch live TV there.

I checked the decoders and tweaked to set all to LAV filters, no change.
Updated NextPVR to the latest version, no change.

At some point this morning I attempted to record Insiders: there are several .TS files in the Public Videos folder but they are all
I have a TV recording from 29 Oct which plays fine in NextPVR desktop.

Signal strength has always been fine, and I still get a good signal via the TV's built-in tuner, using the same aerial wall outlet

  Update EPG on Startup
Posted by: HioWerBji - 2020-10-31, 10:50 AM - Forum: Docker arm32v7 - Replies (6)

Is there an easy way for NextPvr to update EPG on startup.

I have set up NextPvr on Rapsberrypi4 in a docker container in  LibreElec.

Since the system is not running all the time, and EPG is schedule to update once a day when the system may not be running, I am trying to have nextpvr update EPG on startup.  I have try to use PreStartup.sh but LibreElec will not allow script to execute on it file system.

Any suggestion?
