Using Timeshift mode - I have live TV preview off so I can FF and RW on the fly. The buffer files it creates for this stay in my buffer folder, even after changing channels or restarting GBPVR. This eats up lots of space on my recording drive. Is it supposed to do this, and if so, could I make a feature request to delete the live TV buffers when the channel changes or GBPVR is shutdown??
i've recently done a fresh installation of 0.99.5, and since doing this i can no longer cancel in-progress recordings. it's a vanilla installation, except for the MyPictures plugin (although the problem still occurs if the plugin is disabled).
i've attached log files showing the problem (and my config file). i shutdown everything, deleted the logs files and then restarted to get clean log files. i then went to the tv guide, selected quick recording for "The Weakest Link", waited a few seconds and then tried to cancel the recording. this hangs on the menu for about 20 seconds, then returns to the tv guide with the program still highlighted in red.
in the recording service log file i get the following error:
Code:
12/30/2006 5:30:19 PM.453 VERBOSE [7] Recording cancelled

looking the recording directory i now have 2 files: The Weakest Link_20061230_17101800.dvr-ms and The Weakest Link_20061230_17101800-2.dvr-ms.
Hi psycik,

I sometimes have a problem where when I tune into a channel, GB tells me for a while that there's no signal and then in a small while the picture pops up.
In live TV this isn't an issue at all, I'll just wait a few seconds but when this happens in a recording I end up with two files, the original at 5.73 kB and one ending with -1, containing the actual recording.
Now this isn't a biggie either but GB still refers to the original in the Recordings screen and I have to play the recording through Video Library. Also, if set to analyze during recording, GB calls ShowAnalyzer to analyze the original file which contains nothing and this causes SA to hog up the entire CPU.
I've already set BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnRecord to true and I think it might have helped somewhat but the problem isn't gone.
There's also BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds and BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds. What exactly do these do? Could tinkering with them improve the situation?
gbpvr is great, but there's one thing that would really help improve the waf.
it's not really a problem with gbpvr as such, but my remote control is a bit flakey, and sometime commands don't get received by gbpvr. other times the command is received by gbpvr but it takes a few seconds to be processed e.g. deleting a recording as i've got my recordings on a networked hard drive.
it would be really helpful if there was a visual indication that a button has been pressed. for example, on the default blue skin the outline of the highlighted button could briefly change colour from white to something else. i'm thinking of yellow, but any colour would be fine
if someone's already suggested this, or it's already in there and i've just not spotted a config option to turn it on then apologies!
I've done a search and didn't come up with a definitive answer.
MP3's play fine in GBPVR, but I can't get mp4 or aac audio files to play. I installed ffdshow and WMP 11. I tried both AAC codecs in ffdshow, but still no audio. Any other suggestions?
TIA
EDIT - Problem solved by installing audio codecs from 3ivx.com (30 day trial - $7 US for audio codec license)
I set up the client machine, and the recordings and live TV play great across the network. The mapped drive, which links to remote saved videos, configured under directories however plays them very stuttering. If I attempt to play the same video from the Run command or Explorer, the video plays fine in VLC or BSPlayer. I verified if I played the video locally within GBPVR the problem does not occur.
Other than synchronize the videos to a local client repository -- what can I try?
