  convert iTunes to MP3?
Posted by: Torque - 2006-12-03, 07:05 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

My wife had a bunch of iTunes gift cards she has been using up getting Christmas music. But we want to burn them to a CD in MP3 format to take with us to a Christmas party. Problem is, she doesn't have a CD burner on her computer. If I install iTunes on my machine, can I copy over her music files and burn the to a CD that way or is there a utility you all use to convert them to MP3? Thanks.

Cyberlink Powerdvd deluxe 7 has no audio in gbpvr
Posted by: darklord2005 - 2006-12-03, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Just want to start of saying "Thank you so much Sub" for creating such an amazing PVR software, I loaded it on my MCE AMD system with a hauppauge winpvr usb 2 card and did not have any issues with viewing or recording from cable tv..the only problem is when I try to watch a dvd there is no audio..if I play the dvd directly through powerdvd I do get audio, my sound card uses spdif to output to my home theatre receiver btw..I have tried changing the dvd playback decoder options but no luck..Do you think I should try downloading the AC3 filter? Also I want to use the winpvr usb 2 card with my satellite receiver using coaxial rca input( I dont have a ir blaster so the channel will remain constant and ill change it using my satellite receiver) how would you suggest I setup this so I get both regular cable and satellite video and epg? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..keep up the good workSmile

a FAQ for GBPVR in vista x64 rtm?
Posted by: E-MaN_ - 2006-12-03, 04:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all,

I've been trying to get GBPVR work in Vista x64 RTM together with a 500MCE.
After reading some posts that a few people do have a working set alas without a howto.

So far, 'everything' works except for the video/sound.
Using the same channels as in XP doesn't give me what I was hoping for.
Enh. web admin works and so does xmltv. I can program recordings, switch channels but all I get is static snow.
When I switch over from MCE to GBPVR it get (when on the same channel) the video/sound I'm looking for. So it should work. This really stumbles me.

It seems that GBPVR isn't reading the registry for changing channels?, or maybe it has changed in Vista?

Does one have a suggestion for me? If this works I'll put in FAQ for it.

specs:
Plain install of v09.8.13
Hauppauge 500 mce
Vista x64 rtm
Dell 8400, 3.4, 2GB ram, radion X850 PE, SB Audigy 2 ZS

  Net Radio on client PC
Posted by: bossman9 - 2006-12-03, 04:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am having an issue that when the client pc is configured as client, I cannot get the net radio to work.....

If I untick "configur this machine to act as client" the net radio works fine...

The log shows that gbpvr is looking for 'E:\pvr\gbnetradio-0.mp3' (which is where the server machine would look ...e:\pvr is a shaered folder on the server)

I hope this is clear

Any ideas...???

Log is attached

First digit in 3-digit channels lost during changing
Posted by: keith_marrocco - 2006-12-03, 04:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am running a dedicated machine on 24/7 with an IR200L pointed at my Dish 301 receiver. It is using the built-in channel-changing plugin. The recording device is a Hauppauge WinTV 350.

When the machine fires up to record something from a 3-digit channel, such as the Thursday night lineup on channel 234, the first show to be recorded will actually record channel 34 instead. I end up with an hour of PBS instead of Smallville. However, all subsequent channel changes and programs work correctly; I get Supernatural recorded correctly after the failed Smallville. I have just figured out a workaround; by recording Everybody Loves Raymond in the slot just before Smallville I can get Smallville itself to record correctly (and then discard the 30 minutes of Everybody Loves PBS).

It has been difficult to identify and diagnose this, as it appears that as long as I'm watching or recording any channel prior to the change to a 3-digit channel it will change correctly. After changing a parameter, I can do scores of channel changes without experiencing a problem, only to have PBS instead of Smallville again come Thursday night.

I have tried moving the IR200L closer to and farther from the receiver.

I have tried putting yellow sticky notes over the receiver's IR receiver in case the strength of the signal was overwhelming the receiver.

I have tried varying the repeat count in the config utility from 4 to 7, and have similarly varied the delay.

I do have zero padding and 3-digit channels turned on; I suspect if I could send 4-digit, zero-padded channels the problem would not be apparent, but that isn't possible.

Has anybody else experienced something similar?

Keith

  wiki pages asking for passwords
Posted by: kayak4ever - 2006-12-03, 03:14 PM - Forum: Forum Issues & Documentation - Replies (1)

In checking out what options to try next, I found the following links that asked for passwords. I understand that means there is likely a broken link.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...ction=edit
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...ction=edit
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...ction=edit

Under the category enhanced web administration, I clicked on the "quick link" to access instructions on using the guide and found that the guide was already working (I think). For someone who hasn't downloaded this plugin, it might be helpful to have a paragraph describing what it does and how to access it (through a web browser using the quick link). Once I have had a chance to work with it more, I would be willing to write a paragraph to add to wiki that would assist new users in understanding what it can do and how to access it. The current text does answer the question but some of us need more hand holding.

Ability to play sync'ed audio to MVP(s) and local PC
Posted by: fpdave - 2006-12-03, 02:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

so i can have mp3 music blasting out all of the house as I move around it.

I can see that the syncing would be tricky, and if not right could be horrible to listen to. Would need somne means of tweaking the various (tiny) time delays maybe.

  LiveTV on Client PC
Posted by: u-dog - 2006-12-03, 02:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi,

I have a computer running as Client to the media PC. Waching recordings works fine in filesharing and streaming mode. Only LiveTV runs stuttering in both modes.

I tried to increase the Cache already.

With Graphedit, i found out, that the difference between LiveTV an recodings ist, that in Live TV the GB-pvr parser is used, instad of the mpeg-2 demultiplexer.

If i replace the GBPVR parser with the multiplexer, the playback works fine (but only in Graphedit).

Help would be welcome Wink
