Cinergy Hybrid XS USB - BDA.ini update
Posted by: geihard - 2006-12-04, 02:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've messed up a little and understood why the card is not recognized anymore with newest drivers.
Terratec changed the filters' names, so the BDA.ini has to be updated.

I hope the developers will update it sooner or later ;-)

In the meanwhile, here's the workaround.
Open the BDA.ini file in the GBP-PVR directory and find this section:

[TerraTec Cinergy T USB XS]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Cinergy T USB XS Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Cinergy T USB XS Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

change it with:

[Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS (Digital)]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS Digital Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS (Digital)
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

that's all: tested with latest 4.6.0817.2 and it works perfectly.
Thanks for this wonderful tool.

  Marking Commercials with Remote in GB-PVR
Posted by: wtg - 2006-12-04, 02:41 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (12)

Something I've long wanted and others have asked for too is the ability to mark commercials with my remote. My machine is dedicated to GB-PVR and I use it from the couch, so I hate to get up and get my keyboard and mouse out of the cabinet when I need to edit my commercials breaks. After a little testing and some special help from Erik, the developer of Comskip, there's no need for that anymore.

I've put together a short guide for how to launch Comskip's commercials editing window from within GB-PVR and control it with a Hauppauge remote. You can find it here, a zipped file in RTF format. (Use Window's Wordpad to view). Downloading the latest 79.63 or later version of Comskip will be most helpful as Erik changed the way the Comskip edit window is titled to make setup easier, but it's not absolutely required as explained in the guide.

If you have questions, find any errors or have some suggestions, feel free to post them. I'll do my best to assist.

P.S. This only works with GB-PVR and a video card. This doesn't work with the PVR-350's output and doesn't allow editing via the MVP.

  hauppauge remote
Posted by: hahagirl23 - 2006-12-04, 02:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

hi,

i've got the 45 button hauppauge remote. i had been using the winTV software that came with my pvr2-usb2 tuner. i did the "fix hauppauge remote" feature in the gb-pvr config, but i can't figure out how to activate gb-pvr with the remote while it is in the task bar. when i click the "go" button, it brings up the wintv menu. (i restarted the ir after fixing the remote in the config)

any help?

thanks so much

  Program Recording Conflicts - cannot delete
Posted by: daviescr1 - 2006-12-04, 12:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I'm having problems with programs that are scheduled for recording that are showing up as conflicts under the conflicts list but a). With the wrong date against them in the conflicts list (clicking on the conflict shows the correct date and time of the program) and b). The conflicts won't delete.
Can anyone offer any help please?.

I'm aware that the first Fort Boyard entry is conflicting with the Gadget Show on Channel 5 however the second and third entries shouldn't be conflicting with any other programs that are scheduled for recording.

Also how can subtitles on LiveTV be switched-off?.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you Smile.

  Post Processing bat file question
Posted by: nightwalker - 2006-12-03, 10:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

I don't think this is a GBpvr problem, at least i don't think so but i'm not sure where the problem is, Maybe someone here has a clue.

I use comskip, comclean and retime all from the post processing bat after recording a show. This has worked flawlessly for almost a year. In the past few weeks or a month i've noticed that there are times that the bat file does not complete. It produces jerky recording files and doesn't clean up after itself. The last commands are, to delete files created by the process. My clue that things are amis has been those files at times being left instead of deleted.

Is there a way to tell where the bat file chokes and why? I can't seem to pin it down as sometimes it works perfectly as it should, other times not and leaves files that should have been deleted and very jerky video, like i would expect since it hasn't really finished.

I'm not sure if this is a clue or not but the process of comskip/comclean/retime used to take about 34 minutes to complete a 1 hour recording, now sometimes it's up to over an hour to complete and somtimes it doesn't complete at all. Nothing in the bat file has changed nor have i updated any of the comskip/comclean/retime files. They are the same as has worked for a very long time now.

I hope this makes sense.

  Live-TV "dies" on Channel-Change
Posted by: ChrisC - 2006-12-03, 08:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello,

I am using GBPVR now for two days and I am repeatingly experiencing problems with the live-tv feature. When I change the channel with either keyboard or remote, there is a big chance that the live-tv stops and returns back to the menue.

My hardware:
Hauppauge PVR350, AthlonXP 1700+, Nvidia geforce 2 mx 400

Software:
Windows XP SP2 , GBpvr09813

Maybe someone could help me out with this problem,

thanks in advance

  controling pvr through tv
Posted by: questionkid2001 - 2006-12-03, 07:56 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Ok, I used to have digital cable(with the box) but it was to expensive. Is it possbile to get a tv tuner with the remote that comes with it and download gbpvr and be able to change the tv to channel 3 or 4 and use the tuner remote to control the pvr and watch tv like having digital cable? If that is possible then I could use the digital guide, which would be nice. Thnanks.

  Incorect time in EPG-guide
Posted by: tand - 2006-12-03, 07:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm a newbie into this software. I have two minor problems:
1. I grab my epg-data from O2GRABBER and it works fine in Media Portal. But in GB-PVR the scheduled times are one hour ahead of the real time. I tried to compensate for this in the settings, but no matter what I do helps.

2. When I open GB-PVR and the home screen appears the picture is to big for my TV-screen (second monitor). What can I do to help this? When I play a DVD from e.g. Windows Media Player it is okay.

I look forward to hear from you. Thanks.
