Anyone have good suggestions for PC games that have console-like play and only require a joystick?
I'd like my PVR to play double-duty as a game machine for the me and the kids, but so many games these days require keyboard & mouse and wouldn't play well from ten feet back on the couch.
I've already picked up a wireless joystick in anticipation of your suggestions.
Background: I used the remote that came with my 150 for a while, but it was annoying because every time i reformatted i had to rewrite the remote.inf (to new directories and shortcuts) My room mate recently ordered a new Hp media center and gave me his old HP Mediacenter remote and receiver. GBPVR recognizes enough of the controls to make the remote usable in gbprv but i miss all the things i had my previous remote programmed for.
Problem: I downloaded and installed HIP following the guide, and i have successfully 'tagged' HIP, it has MCE in the lower right hand corner. I can not get the remote key map to work. When i click on the drop down menu remote i/o the option to click remote key map is grayed out. Any ideas?
I have two of these cards installed giving four tuners but Pinnacle only supports three tuners. i.e. the fourth tuner will not find channels.
Through various crashes in GB-PVR and installing and uninstalling tuners I have managed to get them all working but changing the channels setup in config for the last tuner is proving difficult.
Is it possible to "copy and paste" the channel setup from say Tuner 1 to Tuner4? I do not need different setup for each card.
i'm trying out the tv guide feature w/ zap2it. i can search most programs. however, when i type in 'usc' or 'ucla'...it doesn't bring up anything. when i type 'college football'...it'll bring me a list of this week's fb games and i can see usc and usc game listed. does this mean that the game might not be available in my area?
I'm trying to clean up some recordings (cut out commercials/padding) to put them on dvd. Some of my recordings with my Nova-t (9002) seem to have the wrong timestamps so that I have to fix the timestamp before I can run comskip -- otherwise comskip recognises the commercials, but they are in the wrong place when playing the file in GBPVR.
I downloaded "retime" from the wiki and set up a batch file to manually start it:
move "%~dpn1.mpg" "%~dpn1_faulty.mpg"
cd "path\to\retime" (yes, I have the correct path here :-))
call retime "%~dpn1_faulty.mpg" "%~dpn1.mpg"
del "%~dpn1_faulty.mpg"
For whatever reason, the audio is slightly out of synch when I play the retimed file.
I then tried mencoder -- also starting from a batch file:
When I play the file in GBPVR, I can't skip and the timeline shows "0:00:00" at both ends.
I have no idea which tool is better (retime or mencoder) so any suggestions would be appreciated as to which to use and how to use it (please keep it simple)
I'm using EWA, if I run conifg on the webpage to change settings. After the settings are set, and press submit. All the changes are OK. However if I restard the web browser all the settings are set to defualt. Can anyone help me to troubleshoot this, I have no idea what log files I should check. It seems to be some write security to config file?.
All the epg, recording etc is working perfecetly. It's just the config that doesent apply/saves.
I'm curious: there's over 11000 members registered on the forums - anyone got any idea / guesses as to how many people are using GBPVR day-to-day to watch and record TV???? How many people have downloaded 98.13 (then add a few for those who prefer to stick on an older version)???
I need to buy an extra video card with tv-out since my PVR350 tv-out is freezing my machine.
I want to keep it el cheepo, so my options are limited. I was told to look for an ATI Radeon 9600 type card. Apparently it has directx9.0 capability.
Now, I can get a cheep radeon 9250, but this only has Directx 8.1 capability. See description below.
Question is: what will be the difference in viewing experience between the directx8.1 card and a directx9 card?
I suppose the VMR9 only works completely with a DX9 card? Or am I mistaken?
What is the actual difference between vmr9/7/overlay ?
Thanks for your suggestions and help!!!
