I am in the process of collecting information on the Hauppauge wireless MVP in order to create a shared source of user experience with this device and the various wireless routers that are available. To help me out, a brief synopsis of your personal experience connecting your wmvp in wireless mode would be appreciated.
I am especially interested in finding out details on specific router setup options that may have been required. If warranted I will publish a web page, (names will not be used unless you give prior approval), to help others since it appears the results of wireless use have been mixed and I feel that part of this is due to missing information.
To get this started here is my experience:
Router: D-Link DIR-625 wireless N router. Using the router defaults the mvp would show my SSID and I could select it however a message would be presented indicating that I could connect to the wireless router but an IP address could not be obtained. I tried several versions of the firmware all with the same result. Eventually after much frustration I found that if I deselected the default option "WMM Enable" the problem disappeared and I could connect without any difficulties and the network speed was excellent
According to my wife, she was watching a show in GBPVR earlier today when she heard a blip and then the sound stopped working. She claims she did nothing else. The sound on the recordings is still there since I can play them just fine in Media Player. I can also watch TV with sound through WinTV. It seems to be a GBPVR-specifc problem. I have tried downloading hauppauge's latest drivers and changing the audio decoder/renderer settings with no success. Any ideas? I'm attaching my logs.
Quick question for everybody. GBPVR has worked great for me in the past (not currently using it due to a lack of cable television and crappy OTA reception). I'm thinking about a few months down the road when I will have cable again, and would like to put another 1 or 2 PVR-150s (or a PVR-500) with the one PVR-150 I currently have (need to be able to record Fox primetime Sunday nights along with Desperate Housewives on ABC). I am wondering though, can they all record to the same drive (the current drive recorded to is only for television)? Or do I need to get additional drives? Does each tuner need its own drive?
Keep in mind I don't intend to record three different channels at once, I mainly want to record two different channels at varying timeslots. For that matter if Sunday night Fox is my goal (U.S.) along with ABC, maybe two cards is enough. I just want to make sure I don't miss parts of shows if they are not perfect bottom to top of the hour slots.
Thanks for the help! I don't want to be over spending on the hard drives if I can help it!
For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

What does this mean? GBPVR seems to work but things are not recording or working properly in the EPG. ie says it is recording a program that ended an hour ago.
is zap2it an opensource project? seems like it has no ads compared to titantv. i couldn't find an article about it on wikipedia. wonder how long it will continue to offer free service.
I have a ATI Xtasy Theater 550 pro, and i want play my xbox on my computer by hooking it up through the Purple box that came with the tuner, i dont know how to set up GBPVR so it will recognize the box...what do i do?
This is a problem that has been ongoing for awhile. I was living with it, but I finally got around to looking on the forum to see if anyone else is having this problem and it doesn't seem like anyone else is.
At random times when I go to playback a recording it will play with no audio. I haven't been able to figure out what causes this to happen. Other recordings will play fine, but that recording will not play any audio. I'm positive that this isn't a problem with the recording itself as the recording will play just fine using Media Player Classic. Even more interesting, If I open the file in Media Player Classic (the file can then be paused or stopped in that player) and then play it in gbpvr while the recording is open w/ MPC the sound shows up in gbpvr no problem.
I almost seems like gbpvr is having trouble picking the correct codec to use or something.
I must also point out that the recordings also play without sound in Windows Media Player.
Can anyone advise whether or not a Freecom USB DVB-T Receiver (http://www.freecom.com/ecproduct_detail....ID=1146532)
is supported under GB-PVR (providing that BDA drivers are available which is something I'm not 100% certain about) without needing to edit the bda.ini file?.
Realise that there's two seperate entries for a Freeview USB DVB-T Receiver
(Freecom DVB and Freecom DVB Type 2) but not sure whether or not they're referring to Freecom Part No. 25451-rev.3.
Was wondering whether or not one of these DVB-T Receivers can be used in conjunction with a WinTV Nova-T-USB2 for a Twin-Tuner GB-PVR PC. Is this possible?.
