  Playing divx files
Posted by: chris11 - 2006-11-19, 01:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am having the hardest time trying to figure out why I can't play my movies. Before I updated to the latest gb-pvr I could pay them just fine however now I can't. I can play them with windows media player and I also ran gspot and the codec’s are available. My card is the pvr-350 and I updated the latest drivers. Any Ideas on how I can fix this?

Keymapping what is it for exactly?
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2006-11-19, 01:09 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

I am progressing along quite nicely on my first plugin and I have decided that I should start to tidy up how much junk I am throwing out to the gbpvr.exe.log

OK I see many instances similar to the item below:
No key mapping found for: UP

I also notice that for many of the other plugins that they declare specific keymaps, example:

Loading key mapping: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\KeyMappings\mainmenu.xml
Adding: Return MENU_ENTER
Adding: Escape MENU_ESCAPE
Adding: Up MENU_UP
Adding: Down MENU_DOWN
Adding: Left MENU_VOLUME_DOWN
Adding: Right MENU_VOLUME_UP
Adding: Home MENU_HOME
Adding: ^I MENU_INSET_FULLSCREEN
Adding: ^O MENU_TOGGLE_MONITOR

This stops the aforementing complaining messages.

My problem is I dont understand the value of the keymapping as the plugin works fine without it! Can someone please explain the benefit I am missing out from and possible point me to an example of the best practise way to implement the key mapping in code.

Many Thanks

  Norwood Micro Card supported?
Posted by: marbordom - 2006-11-19, 12:34 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I set up GBPVR with a Norwood Micro card (compUSA). The card is detected as a Conexant Blackbird (2388x Chipset). When I hit record the file size stays 0.

Some more info:
Tuning assistant says: "ConnectPins failed!" and
"Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudiodecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn" but it does find the channels although w/o audio. BTW: This card has a 3.5 mm out to the sound card's line in cable

Live Tv does give the error of "No tuners are available to watch the requested channel. You can choose to watch one of the currently recording programmes."

Has anyone successfully used this card with GBPVR or is this just not working?
The hw compat. list shows Conexant Blackbird but no drivers - so does that just mean : no luck or may I post a specific log file/setup?

Thank you for any feedback

Hi, A new guy here,

I have a problem geting my GB-PVR to work in XP x64.

I have .Net 2.0, Nero 7, WinDVD 7 loaded and working. Also WMP 11. I have BDA beta drivers for my Freecom USB DVB-T stick. I know it all works as I've had it going in another OS and Media Center but not this one.

The mux check thingy says I have no muxes but I know I do.Sad

Any ideas on how to make it happen please. Many thanks

  ForceHighPriorityRecordingService HIGH
Posted by: ewiemann - 2006-11-18, 10:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

This is not a problem topic, just information.

I have a low powered GBPVR [I]SERVER.[I] It has a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 mobile processor in a 478 motherboard running at 1.5 GHz.

I only use a MVP for watching live tv and recorded shows, the server is in the attic and has no keyboard or monitor attached.

I read about setting the ForceHighPriorityRecordingService in config.xml to HIGH and wondered what it would do to my system.

My MVP has always been a bit slow to react to commands from the remote, I always figured it was because of my slow system. I changed the recording service to high and rebooted my server.

What a difference, the MVP boots up as normal but the speed of the menus and the response of the commands from the remote increased enormously. The web interface also used to be a little slow but now loads and starts immediately.

The setting has transformed my system from a bit slow to a very fast and very enjoyable home media system.

My GBPVR server configuration is as follows:

CPU : Pentium 4-M 2.4 Ghz at 1.5 Ghz.
Motherboard : AOpen AX4PER
Memory : 1 GB
Harddisks : Recordings 330 GB
: Live tv and Archive 240 GB
: System and Photos 160 GB

The CPU is always running at 3 degrees (centigrade) lower than the motherboard (except when virus scanning). I am able to reduce the Core voltage on the motherboard to suit the CPU.

The server is always on, and I am trying what I can to lower the power consumption as much as I can.

If you have the time to change the setting, I think you would see an immediate difference.

Have fun.

Erik

  Changing Channels
Posted by: Stanz The Manz - 2006-11-18, 10:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am probably missing something. Part of what i want to do is simply use my capture/TV Tuner to watch TV on my PC. The only way I have found to change the channel is with a pgUP/pgDown. Not good. Is there a way to enter a channel number and go directly to that channel.

I am sending my cable directly into my ATI Theater 550 pro. No box or external tuner.

18-Nov-2006 - Version 4.4

  • Fixed a bug in ML2Panel where it only showed the seconds portion of a track not the full length
  • Fixed bug with reading album art introduced with the change of reader - may require a full scan to take full effect
  • Fixed a bug with genre - case sensitivity causing an error when loading genres
  • Added the ability to externalise the ML2 Logging.
  • Added a "Last Playlist" when you hit stop, so that unless you've started an existing playlist, it will record the last played tracks.

Two channels don't have sound (worked initially).
Posted by: corneiid - 2006-11-18, 08:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this... My MPV was constantly losing its connection to the server so I unplugged it and suddenly everything started to work fine... Then out of the blue I lost the sound on two channels that had previously worked... This is also a problem when I use GBPVR on my computer... any ideas on what I can do to fix it. It was working fine yesterday and all the other channels work...
