Tried to resolve this with psycik since I was using MusicLibrary2, but it seems to be more of a system issue. I have over 5000 mp3's dating back several years, mostly ripped with WinAmp, more than half won't play audio, while some do. I've tried detagging, retagging, moving directories, etc.
1.) All work with Windows Media Player (problem came up when I set WMP=false due to constant keypress errors)
2.) WMP and GBPVR 98.13 both use Realtek HD Audio output via SPDIF (works for livetv & recording and some MP3s; problem remains when I jack in speakers)
3.) I can find no difference in tagging or album art with those that works and those that don't.
4.) Problem occurs with original Music Library and ML2
5.) Had started with fresh install of GBPVR 98.13, after the problem started I ran changedatabase to SQL, no luck.
6.) Have tried adjusting sample rate (for SPDIF), line levels, etc. Can play 'working' file to test, and non-working file remain non-working. Switch to WMP, everything's fine...
Not sure what else to try... I've attached my log files after having played a few non-audible tracks; I could switch back and set UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio to false, but the erratic remote functions were driving me nuts... any ideas?
I'm on the latest version of GBPVR, .98.13b, but I had some bad recording problems on Saturday. I looked at my logs and there seems to be quite a few errors being logged. I tried setting up several recordings on Friday (11/3) to record on 11/4, but for some reason the recordings didn't take. I was traveling so I logged in via the web interface Saturday morning, but none of the programs I setup were listed to record. I went through and set them up again, but something happened and from Saturday night on the recordings starting failing.
This install was a new install starting with .97.13 standard Blue with Weather plugin only, then upgraded to .98.08. I just installed .98.13b last week, but then this happened. I've included several of my logs because the errors are different at different times.
I am considering moving from sagetv and am doing some research. I have come to enjoy some of the features. So I have a few questions about features.
1. Intelligent Recording: I have added several shows to my favorites list after watching an automagically recorded episode. Does gbpvr have a feature like this?
2. Conflict resolution: It is important to me to make sure that I can view any conflicts and deal with them. Also to have conflicts solved automatically by gbpvr. How effective is the conflict resolution?
3. Ability to record by genre or actor. This is a cool feature to which I have become accustomed. I love horror movies and old movies with particular stars. Does gbpvr have the ability to record in this manner?
I decided to try out the client mode on my primary desktop machine. Downloaded and tried to install only to receive a series of error messages about being unable to register a number of items... blah, blah, blah. So I tried installing again, repairing, modifying, everything I could think of. It was only after I'd tried everything that it finally occurred to me: I didn't have .net 2.0 installed.
Might be worthwhile adding a check to the installation process.
Hi, thought some people here might be able to help. I have been trying to get Yac to work my xp pc, Instead of the Yac popup displaying, a windows balloon tip appears with the incomming phone number. Installed yac on my other pc and it workes fine. But it has never shown a windows baloon popup.
I gather that is why it is not working on my other PC. Has anyone got any Ideas how to stop windows from taking over the incomming call information?
If I record a show I am watching live in GB-PVR by hitting CTRL-K, I later find the resulting file has been recorded at the bitrate settings of the medium profile, and not at those set in the live tv profile.
I have already added the "INIT_MODE=IVAC" setting to the section for my capture device in direct.ini.
I have attached what I hope are the appropriate log files.
Sub, I converted my database to SQLite a while back, but I've been having trouble getting into developing with it...
Does the conversion tool convert SQLite to MDB ?
I want you to know that I'm not planning on stepping backwards. I'm just having trouble using some of the SQLite deveolping tools, and wanna sort out some design issues in MS Acecss...
And when will you be ending all support with MS Access in GB-PVR
This card claims to have an MPEG2 encoder. Any idea of whether it works?
(it's on sale for 39.99 after $10 MIR at CompUSSR this week.... includes remote)
I was thinking it might be a good competitor to the Hauppage PVR150 for me, since I already have a PVR500 and am looking to add another tuner with a remote.
The next release of UbuStream (v2.0) will include support for "mini-plugins" that will scrape content from web sites that publish on-demand streams (often updated daily). This will allow UbuStream users to watch the most recent streams without having to manually set them up as individual "Stations". I'm starting this thread so potential users (and authors) can discuss issues relating to the architecture for these "Dynamic Source" apps.
Overview
At startup, UbuStream will retrieve a list of all Dynamic Source applications in the gbpvr\Plugins\UbuStream\DynSource folder and, if not already present, will add them to the UbuStream database.
When the user views each Dynamic Source (using the UbuStream config app) the DynSource app will be asked to publish a list of "sections" available on its target web site. The user can then select the sections from which they want to receive automatically updated content and, for each section selected, UbuStream will create a "Station Group" (this is a new feature in UbuStream v2.0).
At run time (when selected from the GB-PVR menu), UbuStream will call the DynSource app, read the playlist file it produces and populate the Station Groups with the new items (for those sections they have selected).
Dynamic Source Applications
A Dynamic Source application has two execution modes. If executed with the parameter "-sections" it will produce a file containing the section names available on the target site. Executing it with no parameters will produce a file of all the currently available stream items in all sections.
For a mini-plugin that targets a site that doesn't have "sections", the section name in the output could just be hard-coded by the author and a single "Station Group" would be created with that name.
Provided the app conforms to the naming standards and file formats described below, it can be written in any language and use whatever technique the author chooses. However, to make coding a DynSource app easier and to encourage people to "have a go" at authoring one, a common class library (DynamicSource.dll) will be provided that will take care of most of the heavy lifting (see description below). Using this library, authors can write a simple program in any .Net compliant language (C#, VB, Python, etc.) that contains one method to parse a web page for section names and another method to parse a page for stream URLs.
Although the Dynamic Source file format is based on the widely accepted standard PLS format, some liberties are taken with the original format, so the files should be given the extension '.plx' (PlayList eXtended).
for playlist file:
[playlist]
File1=<item stream url>
Section1=<name of section containing this item>
Player1=<(optional} name of media player to be used for this item's stream>
Type=[I]<(optional) stream type (Audio or Video)>
Description1=<(optional) item description text>
Website1=<(optional) url of a web page containing schedule info>
Title1=<item name>
for sections file:
[sections]
Player=<optional name of media player to be used for this section's streams>
Section1=<name of section>
Notes:
- "Optional" lines may be omitted.
- The Player1 line in the playlist file allows the default player for the Dynamic Source to be
overridden for that item. If omitted, the default player will be used.
- The Player line in the sections file declares the default player for the Dynamic Source streams
and should only occur once. If omitted, UbuStream will use the player entered in the config panel.
- If the Type line is omitted, UbuStream will default to "Video". This is only required for Audio streams.
DynamicSource.dll class library
The class library provides two methods which may be overridden by any class in the DynSource app which inherits the DynamicSource class:
Get_Sections()
Get_Section_Items(SiteSection section)
and some "utility" methods which may be called by the DynSource app (usually you won't need to):
